I love Candace Flynn so much. I love how a female character is allowed to be zany and wacky and the butt of the joke. I love how she’s obsessed with Jeremy in that teenage crush kind of way but doesn’t truly go beyond the boundaries into what’s legitimately creepy or stalkerish. I love that a teenage girl is allowed to act like a teenage girl and have teenage girl interests and she’s not treated dumb or bad for it.

I have this one friend. I told my mom he went by he/hi. I knew him before he was a boy and she knew him as my friend so of course I told her but she refused to call him by his desired pronouns. I started thinking she was transphobic. It pissed me off. So one day I told her about his birthday party and she kept saying, "Why are you saying he? SHE has a vagina doesnt she?" So I asked her, "What do you have against trans people?" and she had the audacity to tell me, "I have nothing against them." Then she explains further saying shit like they have to have paperwork done or they have to have to be born that gender before she'll call anyone their desired pronouns. I dropped it from there pretending I understood. But she keeps telling people how she feels and theyre agreeing with her (by my knowledge) and its pissing me the fuck off. Why does any of that have to matter? Why does a man have to have a penis and a flat chest in order to be a man? Why does a woman have to have a vagina and boobs in oder to be a woman? Why cant someone just be comfortable with their desired gender identity without you walking over all like, "Im not calling you what you want to be called bc you look and sound like [gender]." Bulshit.
