An Introduction

Hello! I'm going by Calli on here, and this account is my foray into documenting my journey/relationship with religion and self improvement process. ୨୧

I wouldn't call myself a "full catholic" yet (it's complicated..) but I agree with and would like to live by (most) catholic values, and lead a life that would make God and I proud. ₊˚⊹ᰔ

I am also reading the bible (I have the pink one from Christian Art Publishers that's so lovely!) and am attempting to build up my traditionally feminine traits/skills (cooking, dressing up, embroidery), so you can look forward to posts about that! ୨୧

I'm getting an ocarina!!

I've wanted to buy one for a while now but was worrying about the pros and cons about investing money in a hobby that might just die off soon. After posting some questions about ocarinas on reddit the other night, I decided to just ask God what He thought of it all and went to sleep.

When I awoke, a notification was waiting for me: a generous redditor offered to give me his old bass ocarina that's worth $120!

Thank you God for this wonderful Christmas present 😭😭

Ok, let me know if this makes sense to you,our POPE says no to women in ministry, but accepting Trans people is okay? We have to be "love and light" and accepting of trans-identifying individuals, but women having any sort of recognition in the church as teachers is still a no-no, and yet you also still have a problem with gay marriage?

I am so confused by the hypocrisy.

Lord, help me understand what is going on. You might as well throw the whole thing in the fire and erupt total chaos.

And like—- I personally have no issues with women teachers (I could go on, most Bible studies I have seen have been run by women) or trans people believing in Christ, maybe it will help them, I don't know. I really don't want to be bitter and hateful towards anyone! but I cannot stand how hypocritical this man is.

Now I understand why people don’t like him.

I guess I take pride in knowing that if lightning strikes the church, God still exists.

Whenever the Bishop in my state comes to my church, his homily always talks about women and mothers. It's beautiful. Why can't others be this way?

The interaction between Mother Mary, Mary Magdalen and the Apostoles during their journey in The Chosen makes me feeling full with joy! Even the addiction of Ramah and Tamar makes me feel proud of being a female follower of our Lord ❤️

Thank you Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour for seeing the humanity, dignity and potential that women carry with them. Thank you for considering us equal and as worthy as man even when the world didn't see us as such and considered having female followers blasphemy.

Allsaint’s Daily Special for February 1: Eggs Brigid

Served on a soda roll with smoked halibut fillet. The poached eggs are topped with a sweet beer cream sauce. On the side comes a crepe with sweet strawberries, sloe, and silver pearl candies. Served with a glass of beer.

saw something on Instagram about dressing up for Mass or not….and I think it’s quite simple. Dress in a way that will make you feel most connected to God. If I’m excited to wear a favorite dress and heels and it puts me in a headspace to worship, then so be it. If I’m in a depressive episode and can barely manage leggings and a shirt, so be it. Dressing comfortably is better than not going to church at all. As long as I’m following any dress code the individual church has it’s fine. If you can’t afford dresses or whatever, wear what you have. It’s fine
