I'm getting an ocarina!!

I've wanted to buy one for a while now but was worrying about the pros and cons about investing money in a hobby that might just die off soon. After posting some questions about ocarinas on reddit the other night, I decided to just ask God what He thought of it all and went to sleep.

When I awoke, a notification was waiting for me: a generous redditor offered to give me his old bass ocarina that's worth $120!

Thank you God for this wonderful Christmas present 😭😭

VITAL OCARINA RESOURCE IN DANGER!

IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW PLAYS A 6-HOLE OR 12-HOLE OCARINA, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!

I've personally been a casual ocarina player for 10~ years, and never have I found a more easy-to-use and convenient tool for creating tabs than 6holeocarina.com.

All notes for the 6-hole are available as buttons that you simply click in order of the notes you want, then you can make it into a printable (or sharable) tab sheet! (Presented in a new browser tab, too!)

BUT when I went and sent in my thanks and encouragement to the person running the site, I saw this and knew i had to at least do what I could to get the word out.

I currently have no means to help through donation, so instead I'm gonna spread the word! Independent sites like this one, let alone ones meant for very specific uses, are dying and crumbling under the corporate domination of the internet. It makes me so upset to see sites like this not have enough funding to stay up, and worse when the people running them struggle too. Please help this awesome resource stay up, either through sharing this or donating to the site owner here.

tl;dr A great free resource for music is in danger of disappearing, and we should help them.

Annoying!

Im trying to teach myself how to play the ocarina but finding fingering charts for song on google is hard as every search no matter what it is will be flooded with songs from Ocarina Of Time! There were other songs yes but it was mostly songs from that game. Its like it thinks Nintendo invented the instrument for crying out loud! Im not saying the game is bad or anything, I have never played it so I don't have a say on if its a good or bad [I do know its a famous game of course] and Im not hating on Nintendo or anything but come on leave some room for other songs! I could barely find the 11 songs that I saved the tabs charts for through all the repeats of game songs. All the songs from the game are even in the song book that came with the ocarina that I bought!

This is one of the first songs I unlocked in Sky, and one of my favorites. Playing this melody is so soothing, in game and in person. I wish my phone's microphone could do it justice.
