Stage Play: My Old Friend
i've been here more than 2 years now and gone deep into the tags a decade back. but i've never seen anything about Two of Us 2.0: My Old Friend, a stage play by Stephen Larsen imagining a final meeting with John and Paul on November 5, 1980.
here's the summary:
The play begins on November 5, 1980. John Lennon, alone in his apartment at the Dakota in New York City, is at a crossroads. He has been having recurring dreams of death and is ready to make big changes in his life, that is if he can summon up the courage. Just then, who should appear, unannounced at his door but Paul McCartney.  The two haven't seen each other for about four years.  John is both glad and a bit wary at the sudden appearance of his old friend.  Can they mend fences? Can they come together? Or they forever doomed to be bound by the strands and complications of their shared history?
here’s a copy of the script.
it packs a lot of bug lore into a few acts (probably too much for a general audience) and leans a bit exposition heavy to fit it into J&P conversation (assumes they haven’t talked most of the decade but then they start bearing souls). the dialogue is an acquired taste, and it commits the Two of Us sin of making paul more normal for the sake of plot and using him to talk through to john. it also leans into very dark territory by the end (tarot reading with jayne mansfield among other things), which is probably tough even for devoted fans.
but it notably features some very J&P moments complete with goons humor, spontaneous bursting into song, and wild tonal shifts that are very them. it's funny then that the most authentic bits are the ones that make me doubt it could ever be adapted right to the stage. at least not without a devoted group producing it.
would have made a good fanfic though. it's especially poignant after Now and Then's release, even if i am a bit skeptical about the timelines (the idea john and paul didn't see each other for 4 years, that the fall 1980 meeting was out of the blue, time of writing Now and Then, etc.). with the biopics back in discussion, it's worth taking another look at it.
this script was read onstage in holmdel, new jersey in 2018. did anyone attend the script reading?
more importantly, has anything been done with it since?

BETHESDA, MARYLAND HARDCORE '81.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on a harDCore discography of sorts, "Complete Session, Nov '81" by American hardcore punk band ARTIFICIAL PEACE, collecting 17 tracks on one compact disc, all tracks recorded in late 1981, and originally released under the Dischord label in 2010.
"This album features the entire session that Artificial Peace recorded in November 1981. At the time, A.P. were on of the leading bands in the D.C. hardcore scene. Three of these songs were initially released on the "Flex Your Head" compilation, but the rest were shelved when the band unexpectedly broke up after playing for barely over a year."

President Spencer W. Kimball received a revelation to approve the sealing of an MTF trans woman to her husband in the Washington DC Temple in 1980. The sealing was performed by a Elder Hugh W. Pinnock of the Seventy.
Dr. Gregory Prince wrote about it on the blog By Common Consent (BCC) in Nov 2015.
In January 2016, a blogger wrote about the BCC post. In the comments section, a person identifying as Ann wrote to say that she is the person who was sealed. She provides some detail, including the date of the sealing and the name of the Seventy who performed the marriage.
Unfortunately, I don't know an official Church source for this, so I don't know how much it will matter to your family.
It’s important to understand that Dr. Prince is credible because it’s his eye-witness account that we have about a trans woman being sealed to a man in the temple.
Dr. Gregory Prince has a PhD and his career was in the prevention and treatment of pediatric infectious diseases.
He took the research skills in the medical field, combined it with his interest in history, and wrote several books on religious history and theology:
Having Authority: The Origins and Development of Priesthood During the Ministry of Joseph Smith (1993)
Power from On High: The Development of Mormon Priesthood (1995)
David O. McKay and the Rise of Modern Mormonism (2005)
Leonard Arrington and the Writing of Mormon History (2016)
Gay Rights and the Mormon Church: Intended Actions, Unintended Consequences (2019)
He was also interviewed as part of the 2007 PBS documentary The Mormons
————————————————
This woman was sealed to her husband. So either she's gonna be a woman in the eternities, or if not then this is a same-sex sealing. It's an interesting example of how we could expand our use of the sealing power if we chose to

"Workers grappled Columbia with a crane and lifted it from the transfer aisle, hoisting it more than 190 feet in the air to transfer it to High Bay 3 before lowering again to join it to the already assembled ET and SRBs.

By early Nov. 26, workers completed all the connections to Columbia as engineers activated the orbiter to prepare the assembled vehicle for a series of tests. As part of the two-week shuttle interface test, on Dec. 4, engineers powered up the entire stack for the first time. Additional tests ensured that all systems operated as expected in the overall vehicle and ground systems."

Posting to save and read later!
Extract:
Many have theorized that Lennon was eying some form of reunion with McCartney prior to his murder on Dec. 8, 1980. No one will ever know for sure, but the thought certainly lends a level of significance to the words of "Now and Then."
And now and then
If we must start again
We will know for sure
That I love you
[Giles] Martin is unable to confirm the song’s lyrical significance to McCartney, but he has his suspicions. “I do feel as though ‘Now and Then’ is a love letter to Paul written by John. I mean, I've never really asked Paul about it, and I'm not sure whether Paul would say, ‘Oh, that's definitely it,' because he wouldn't want to second guess John. But that's the sense I get. And I get the feeling that's why Paul was so determined to finish it.”

Voyager 1 was launched Sept. 5, 1977, just days after its twin — Voyager 2 — on Aug. 20. Because it was on a faster route to the mission's first encounter, at Jupiter, Voyager 1 overtook Voyager 2 on Dec. 15, 1977. (This was the reason for the order of their naming.)
Voyager 1 flew past Jupiter on March 5, 1979, and Saturn on Nov. 12, 1980.
After snapping the Pale Blue Dot and other “family photos,” — at 05:22 GMT, Feb. 14, 1990 — Voyager 1 powered off its cameras forever. Mission planners wanted to save its energy for the long journey ahead.
In August 2012, Voyager 1 entered interstellar space. It’s now the most distant human-made object ever.

Did he talk much about the Beatles?
All the time.
Did he feel like it was a weight on him?
No, he absolutely loved it. I used to have a little Sony blaster that I would put up… It’s funny because now I do my fucking mix through a Bose wave radio, but then it was a Sony blaster. A fairly good one. And if you sounded good in there, everything was right. And one day in a few moments when nothing was going on, he would put on WNYW FM and listen to the radio. He loved to listen.
And when a Beatles song came on the radio, he would tell you everything about that session. Everything that happened. He never had a problem talking about how much he loved that band. And how much he loved those guys. He was a little annoyed at George, because George had written a book and he didn’t mention John much in the book, at that time. But he felt that that would come around.
But his love for that band. Phenomenal. It was great. It was what you hoped he would be like.
He loved them as much as everyone loved them. Did he ever discuss why they never reunited, or why they had those near-misses? Well you know he and Paul were already in the process. This Ringo album I think was going to be big.
That could have been a big stepping stone?
Yeah.
Did you ever see them together, any of them?
No. But I know that Paul was up at the Dakota.
Did they jam together?
I don’t know. All I know is that Paul was preparing stuff for Ringo’s album.
—Jack Douglas, producer of John Lennon's Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey albums [x]

Huwaida Arraf, who is described on [Twitter] as a social activist, wrote in a post published on Wednesday that Israel built the bunker beneath the hospital in 1983, when it controlled Gaza. She referenced a 2014 story published by Tablet magazine, which alluded to multiple news outlets' reports about conflict at that time between Israel and Hamas. The magazine stated without attribution that the bunker was built in 1983.
Arraf's claim, which has been echoed by some on social media, states that Israel's raid of the hospital it controls does not provide justification but makes the nation more culpable in its purported violence. "Israel has still not presented any proof that Hamas has been using the hospital or the bunker that Israel built as its 'command and control,'" Arraf said. "Both local and foreign doctors have denied any such allegation, and Israel rejected offers to have an international delegation inspect."
She added: "There is no one to document except the military itself, which will show you what it wants the world to believe."[...]
The bunker, reportedly constructed decades ago, includes a secure underground operating room and tunnel network.[...]
Reports by [...] Israeli newspaper Haaretz and other outlets have specifically mentioned the hospital's Building No. 2, which it says was built as an add-on in the mid-1980s and contains a large cement basement initially intended for laundry and administrative tasks. The excavation of the underground concrete floor was corroborated by online English-language Israeli publication Ynetnews.[...]
The Ruling: True
Multiple sources have corroborated that a bunker or basement was built at Israel's discretion in the 1980s. It remains unclear whether Hamas operates the space beneath the hospital as a major military headquarters

Okay so stuff coming straight from the Witherburn After School News discord theory channel:
For a while we’ve been encouraged to look at the following list of characters birthdays by Francis:
The Reporter July 22, 2008
Birdie May 4, 2008
Bo Stoker November 8, 2007
Dyce December 4, 2007
Coach McMillan February 29, 1980
Eva Sinanger February 20, 2008
Francis Smith January 16, 2006
Hunter Clark October 26, 2007
Mr. Pickler October 20, 1967
Tina Young August 23, 2007
Now there are some things that we already knew or were quick to figure out (ie. Mr. Pickler’s birthday being the day of the infamous bigfoot sighting) but we were clearly missing something considering we kept being urged to look at the birthdays more. Supposedly the birthdays had some meaning that would reveal something that would foreshadow season two of WBASN.
Now today Francis again was urging the server to look at the birthdays but was now italicizing certain letters, specifically O and B. It took as way too long (the witherburn server over complicating things? who would’ve thought/sar) but eventually we figured out that we were being pointed at Bo Stoker. (Well first we were thinking that OB=08 and went a long rabbit hole but that got dismissed after an hour long mental break.)
From there we started looking at Bo Stoker’s birthdays and things that happened on that day (November 8th). It was confirmed by Francis that what we were looking for was on the wikipedia page for that date, and after a whole of searching I came across the fact that Nov. 8th was the day that Bram Stoker created Count Dracula.
That along with some other hints (Francis asking about Tim Stoker from The Magnus Archives last name being Stoker and if that meant he was secretly a vampire, and a 2 truths 1 lie that had been asked in the server that included “vampires are real” as one of the options). We concluded that vampires seem to be a likely thing to show up in season two of WBASN.
Additionally we were told to listen to the halloween episode of witherburn and when I listened to that there were two things that seemed relevant:
1. The Witherburn Ghost. Her being seen with a hole where he heart should be could point towards a wooden stake to the heart (where vampires need to be stabbed with a wooden stake to be killed)
2. The Stoker family being obsessed with the blood orange pie. Specifically a pie that is a currently a very well kept secret (secret ingredient? Blood?)
Well that’s all the theorizing for now. If anyone wants to add anything I missed feel free to.
