1. How many works do you have on AO3?

As of right now, 46!

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

I’m currently at 600,704 which is perhaps too many, considering I have schoolwork again 😅

3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?

I have written for six fandoms! Started off with Harry Potter and Captain America (though I have orphaned those fics so you won’t be seeing them again lolol). Then I got into Check, Please which is a very cute hockey webcomic, then The 100 (which is wildly a big reason why I’m in grad school right now so what does that say about me??), one Polin fic for Bridgerton, and I have written one thing for Sex Education because Otis and Ruby would not leave me alone after I watched season 3.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

I definitely try to, though I always get behind. Engagement on my work is like moderate, at best, so I get excited to see any sort of comment and want to be excited with my readers. That being said there’s like 48 comments in my inbox right now. I promise I’ve read them, I just haven’t responded to them all yet!

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I guess it might be Show Me Yours, I’ll Show You Mine, a fic I wrote for Troped last year. I called it a modernization of Emori and Murphy’s first meeting meets Taylor Swift’s I Knew You Were Trouble video. It’s kind of angsty by accident because I originally planned to write another chapter but then that never really happened and I don’t see it happening so lol sorry to everyone that this fic ends not that happily.

7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?

No, my brain simply does not work that way lol.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

I wouldn’t say hate, but like some mild dislike of how I wrote things. In A Twist of Fate, Bellamy dates Echo for a good portion of the fic and someone felt the need to tell me they didn’t like how much Echo was in the fic. It’s properly tagged as minor Becho so it’s made clear what you’re getting into so that comment felt silly to me.

I also got a wild and very long comment on Cold-Blooded my silly Twilight AU where the commenter thought that Clarke realized Bellamy was a werewolf too soon and suggested that I should edit it so that it made more sense, then they basically went on to say how they thought the rest of the story should go. Don’t do this to people lmao. I already had that whole fic planned out so it’s not like I was going to change how it happened based on something one person said? If you feel that strongly, go write your own fic!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, but not often because I hate the process. I’m not one for smut, in fact if it’s in a story I will usually just kind of skim it. I’d say all my stuff is very vanilla, though I do have a couple smut scenes I know are coming in my Nemori arranged marriage fic where I am trying to spice things up a bit, though I think they’re still pretty standard. You probably won’t catch me writing much more of it since it really is a chore for me lol.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope.

13. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

Lmaoooo idk. I guess Memori is up there, but I don’t know that I’d say they’re my all-time favorite? Honestly, I’m not one to get too attached to ships normally. I guess for a long while I was super into Booth and Bones, but it’s not like I ever read fic for them. And of course I had my Chuck and Blair period as well. I’m pretty big into multi-shipping, so I’m not sure I have a good answer for this. I guess if we’re talking right now, if anybody hasn’t noticed Otis and Ruby from Sex Education are all I can think about lol.

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Rip to the very short Nurseydex piece I should finish because it wouldn’t take me long, but I simply never will. I’m just kind of past writing for them. I’m worried I won’t finish my Bellarke Emma AU but I do kind of want to get back to it, because Murphy has not shown up yet and those who know me know that Frank Churchill (Regency's finest fuckboy) is weirdly one of my favorite characters, and I was really looking forward to writing Murphy in that role, so I think that might win me over to finish it eventually.

15. What are your writing strengths?

As a screenwriter, I hope I can say dialogue?? I feel like I’m decent at picking up on how characters talk and their speech patterns, which has also been helpful for writing spec scripts, not just fic! Similarly, another thing that is great for both fic and spec scripts is characterization. I’ve definitely gotten compliments on that before, and if I really like a character I’ll pay attention to how they move about the world and how they interact with others, and I think it always ends up coming off in a cool way.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

I’ve always felt pretty iffy on like worldbuilding. It’s definitely been weird to write so much fic for a sci-fi show when I am not well versed in writing that (but that’s why I mostly write modern AUs lol). I also don’t think I’m the best at description, but then again I tend to prefer when things are more straightforward anyway.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I guess I’ve never really thought about it? I probably won’t do it (unless it’s the Trig from fics I’ve already written) because I can only speak English fluently so it doesn’t seem like something that I could easily fit into anything I’d ever try to write.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

We’re very lucky the Glee fanfic I once found in an old notebook never saw the light of day. I almost once wrote a Downton Abbey fic in high school that would have been Sybil and Branson being penpals while she did her nurse training. But my first fandom that I actually posted something for was Harry Potter, though I only ever wrote the next-gen kids.

19. What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

I’m cheating and picking two, I have so many!

First is obviously We Don’t Need To Say It, my Memori actor AU. It is the longest fic I’ve ever written at over 100k words, and I also created an entire fake TV show out of it (that I have also written a pilot for) so a lot of work went into this one and I’m super proud of it. Also got a few new people into Memori, which was another win.

And second is my most recent fic which is all’s well that ends well to end up with you. It’s one of like 45 fics in the Otis/Ruby tag on AO3 (I guess 42 if you get rid of the ones that are actually Otis/Maeve). I just got a picture of Ruby and Otis reconnecting many years later and giving it another try and I had a lot of fun writing it/I have more ideas for other installments in that little future universe that I am NOT allowed to write until I get some more prompts done look at me Sam, I’m being responsible.

Oh but before I begin, ik you didn't specify reader's gender here and you guys know I do gender neutral reader when I can, but I feel like smashing some hockey related gender norms, so I hope it's cool with you all if I do a badass, hockey playing, female reader for this one 😌

With a heave, you push open the big, double door to your school's practice ice, and a blast of crisp, winter scented air rushes over you. You are the only girl on your school's hockey team, and it feels like the odds are against you.

You're tough, a good shot, and fast, but you still feel like you have a lot to prove. The accuracy of that sentiment is highly debatable, but nonetheless, extra practice never hurts.

Today you've just brought your skates, stick, and a weighted vest for speed drills. It's long after school hours by now, but as a member of the team, you can swipe into the rink anytime you want. That being said, the last thing you were expecting was to find the ice occupied...

The sound of shredding ice snaps your attention to the rink, and there you see a lone boy on skates, tearing it up.

He looks about your age, and if he's in here then he must go to your school... So why don't you recognize him?

You set down your equipment and lace up your skates, pretending to be occupied while you stare.

His strides are long and measured, with a grace you haven't quite seen before. He's wearing a leotard in your school's colors, and the spandex only accents his long, delicate legs as he goes around and around, somewhere between gliding and flying as he goes through a routine of tricks and moves.

He jumps once through the air with impressive form and lands squarely in the center of the ice. You're already feeling quite impressed by the show he's given so far, and you rise to give some polite applause at this last move. But then, you're cut off as he draws up to his full height and launches himself into a spin, perfectly contained to one spot.

As his arms draw in, he goes faster and faster until he's nothing more then a rotating column. Slowly, he drops down to a one legged crouch, his lifted skate held out in front of him with both hands as he arches forward to reach. By now, you feel dizzy just looking at him, but when he springs up over a foot in the air, completing two more aerial spins before landing perfectly on a single skate...

Well, you’re blown away.

To celebrate, you congratulate him like any true hockey fan would. You pound on the glass as hard and as loud as you can, being sure to accompany it with whoops and cheers of admiration. However, the sound of all your ruckus must’ve taken him by surprise, as the figure skater whips around all too fast and slips into a nasty looking fall.

“Shit”, you mutter. Without a moment to lose, you rush down the ramp and onto the ice with your skates thankfully all ready to go. Showing your best hustle, you skate over just as the young man begins to stir. You come to a full stop, trying not to spray him in ice, and drop down to see if he’s alright.

He groans, and sits up slowly, rubbing at his hip, “I’m fine, thanks...”

The British accent takes you by surprise, but you put it aside for now, “Here, let me help you to the bench”. Without giving him much of a wait, you lift him up to his feet easily with fairly impressive strength and help him off the ice while he tires to hide a blush.

Once you’re both settled down, Paul finally takes a moment to get a good look at you. The first thing he notices is your skates. “So... You’re on the, uh hockey team?”

A jolt of excitement goes through you as you assume he is knowledgeable on the topic. Finally, a guy who gets you. You launch into a hyper jabber, telling him all sorts of secular, hockey related things like your name, your jersey number, your position, and the drills you’re here to practice.

Paul has no idea what you’re talking about. In fact, he hardly knows the name of the sport to be quite honest, considering it’s not at all popular back in England... But, you seem so excited, what with your sweet smile and the gleam in your eyes, he can’t bring himself to interrupt you.

“Anyway, sorry, I’m talking too much”, you laugh.

“No no, it’s alright! It’s nice to meet such a passionate person”, he smiles. “Oh, um I’m Paul by the way! I uh, just moved here with my family a few weeks ago”

Well you figured as much, but you’re excited to get to know him more. After all, he seems quite nice, and you admit, you are rather curious about him...

Paul tells you a bit about his background in Liverpool to start off, but he quickly cuts to his passion for figure skating and how he got started in that. He tells you all about the his competitions and medals and how he’s hoping to take his dreams to the pros here in the States.

You listen intently, clinging to every word. Of course you were curious at first, but who would’ve thought he’d be so amazing to boot? You had no idea you were practically talking to a superstar.

Paul humbly denies the title, but he can’t help but feel quite proud of himself under all your attention. To be honest, he was rather worried he’d have a hard time finding his place in an American school, making friends and all that... But imagine his surprise to be here, not even one week into his school career, being fawned over by the prettiest girl he’s ever seen.

When the conversation hits a bit of a slump, Paul starts up a new topic, “So, what kind of moves have you got out there? I’d imagine there’s quite a bit of fancy footwork that goes into your game... Maybe you could teach me a few things, eh?”, he smiles encouragingly and give a little chuckle as he bumps your shoulder.

You laugh nervously, “I think it’d be quite the opposite if anything... I’m pretty fast, but that’s about all I have going for me in terms of skating”, you look away and kick as a small pile of snow in front of you.

“Aw, well that’s an easy fix! Tell you what, how about I’ll show you some moves, and you can show me a bit about hockey afterwards!”, his hazel eyes beam at you, and you must admit, that would be a rather sweet deal...

You agree, and next thing you know, you’re both off onto the rink. Paul teaches you a little bit about spins, just some basic moves for maneuvering around others, and as well as helping you fine tune your backwards skating.

“Here, like this...”, he lets go of your hands and instead tries to approach this by holding you from behind. Paul takes a firm grip on your waist, his fingers long and delicate as they curl around you, “Now, just move your feet like I do...”

The rest of his instructions are drowned out by the pounding in your ears and you hope against hope that you can pass off the redness in your cheeks as the touch of the cold. But, without even realizing, Paul is leading you through a smooth back skate... And just as you do realize, he lets you go and the surprise throws you off balance.

You tread some ice and slip backwards. Paul catches you, but it doesn’t do much good as he ends up going down as well. You land right on top of him, the two of you left with the wind knocked out of you. Thankfully you come to your senses in a jiffy and you roll over to check on Paul, to find yourself mere inches away from his pretty face.

He blinks a few times and shakes his head out a little before focusing on you with a little pout, “Now that’s the second time you’ve knocked me off my feet today”. You’re about to apologize, when his sad little face cracks into a sly smirk, “I hope this doesn’t come to be a pattern...”, he winks at you.

You gasp and bat at his chest as you push yourself up, a severe blush and an incredulous laugh escaping you. Paul shoots up to sit, “Where are you going!”, he laughs.

“I think we’ve had enough practice for one day”, you turn around, trying but failing to suppress your laughter.

“Well hold on, how about some ice cream or something at least!”

Paul chases after you like a lost puppy, begging you for a little more time together today. You shake your head, but make some plans with him anyway. After all, who knows? You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take...

growing up in a house with multiple temporary strangers wasn’t odd to aj at all, in fact it felt like the norm. There was always someone around to socialize with so that was quite nice

Her father was a pro baseball player & passed away due to a automobile accident

aj was also involved in the accident at the age of 6 & miraculously survived with intense injuries

i see her as a person that has/had many friends in secondary. She’s always open to chat and her being on a few sports teams helped her out in her case

very competitive in anything that she does & will guarantee that she’ll beat you. vieve came with seb so...but no shade aj did like vieve. She gave great advice (while seb sometimes didn’t say the right things unintentionally or what aj needed to hear) when needed, especially from a medical view and is very sweet

elladine was the one who had all the tea & ideas to match, she’s quite organized and always down for DIY’s and could suggest almost anything. If you needed someone to help you get things tidy or match/find your Aesthetic, she’s the friend you call to help

tai was the one she could be a “bro” with, sure elladine has her competive side (or controlling, depends on how you view it) but tai was the one you can run to for much needed “bro hugs”, partying, going to the pubs, playing sports with or against, checking out/flirting with babes, etc...

it was not long after the villa that aj had a revelation with her sexuality & fully owned and labeled herself as a lesbian

She was happy being in relationship with someone else or with herself, life was short and she was young so there wasn’t time to dwell and stress over things so what the hell?! Live your truth the best way you know how ya know?

Gaining a few pounds in muscle and fat, bothering seb via ft, viewing old letters she wrote to her dad, spending time with her fav ladies since they were now restricted from having guests in their home, and letting boredom consume her + she hated the whole lockdown that came with it, she hated being indoors for long periods of time but she knew that’s what partly needed to be done

Posts a lot of beach, park, outings with her friends & team, moments with her fav ladies, workout videos, and guests at the b&b with their permission and if only she befriends them along the way. She’s just as active on the socials as she is in rl but she’s not obsessed with it, she knows how to live in the now. She’s all about balance!

I also feel like she never keeps her phone charged and it’s always dying on her! She had a car charger but...that’s a jungle. She needs to invest in a portable charger stat

i just finished "the romance of tiger and rose" and i have nothing to watch now :( do you have any cdrama recs?

hello!!!! sorry i got to this a week late my tumblr is like... neglected currently

anyway i’m so glad u enjoyed tiger and rose!!! i love it so much too :D for cdrama recs, omg it really depends on what u’re looking for!!!! i find it so hard to narrow down dramas that are my faves to recommend because i actually watch very little HAHA and i only watch to completion dramas that i really like anyway xD anyway i’ll just list a few that i’ve watched recently (meaning like... from mid 2019 till now) and really enjoyed!!!

period dramas:

- joy of life 庆余年 (2019): hard to describe this tonally because it’s v irreverant and hilarious yet moving and deep and suspenseful?! the first 15 episodes are fun and enjoyable but i think i really really truly got into it after that and became invested 100%. in my eyes it felt like a fervent love poem to life and the human condition especially towards the end. the characters are all very fascinating and there’s a lot of twisty plot twists. excellent acting and script writing. only caveat is that it’s the first season out of a planned 3 season series so it ends on a cliffhanger, and the female lead doesn’t really have as much agency compared to the other supporting female characters (mainly due to her circumstances and the role she plays i guess).

- young blood 大宋少年志 (2019): YOOO THIS is a huge lovelovelove for me, you have the most lovable squad consisting of 6 very different and generally lonely teenagers who get roped into this secret services thing where they deal with top secret government plots and stuff. and they start off all on the wrong foot and grow to LOVE EACH OTHER and RELY ON EACH OTHER and HAVE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. *sobs just thinking about it* has many supporting characters that are interesting and whom u also get invested in. It’s an original script written by Wang Juan 王倦 who also wrote the joy of life script, except young blood is 100% original and not adapted from a webnovel! just like tiger and rose’s script, which is also an original script written by Nan Zhen. this is SUPER SUPER rare nowadays in cdramaland which is why i stan these 2 dramas so hard hahaha. caveat: young blood also ends on a kind of cliffhanger/open ending, but it still felt like the arcs that the entire series covered in terms of character development were well completed so i was okay with it. plus there are lots of hints that there’s also gonna be a season 2, though I think Wang Juan is still writing the script for that.

- under the power 锦衣之下 (2019/2020): this is the drama that tiger and rose is sometimes compared to in terms of how it became so popular unexpectedly. i would wholeheartedly recommend this 100% solely for the OTP which is a Tsundere Embroidered Uniform Guard (Ming-dynasty secret police) ML x Bubbly/talkative/street smart Constable FL. they are SUPER SUPER cute and the leads (who are both my faves) play them super well and their romantic development is presented really organically. the outfits esp the male lead’s are A+++ also and make him look super super hot. i like the OST too. however everything else is quite mediocre lol especially the special effects and the meandering sideplots and there was a whole plot arc that didn’t really make much sense because a lot was edited out because of censorship. STILL VERY ADDICTIVE THO

- the story of ming lan 知否知否应是绿肥红瘦 (2018/2019): a very long drama (but quite normal by cdrama standards lol) basically about the ~journey~ and ~growth~ of our protagonist minglan, unfavoured daughter of a concubine of a relatively high ranking civil servant. it’s a very different vibe to a lot of other cdramas in that it’s very slice-of-life and slow paced, but i think it’s fascinating how it showcases how women deal and work with the internal dynamics of a household in a patriarchal society, and how that affects societal and political affairs as well. her OTP with an unfavoured son from another family (lol) is also very very delicious as it’s basically 2 people who have gone thru a lot of Trauma as children treasuring each other/learning that they too are treasured by the other and them building their own family and household against all odds and evil family members. it’s v long and slow paced as i mentioned earlier but it’s very very rewarding!! and i think many of my tumblr mutuals would agree it’s quite a favourite :D

modern dramas:

(i’ll admit that i’ve only had the brainspace the past 1 year for fluffy brainless modern dramas so all these are just for the FLUFF)

- skate into love 冰糖炖雪梨 (2020): uni drama where the FL re-picks up her true love speed skating after abandoning it for Reasons and gets back into it competitively. her OTP is her primary school deskmate who is an ice hockey player. the otp is very very fun!! the ML has a lot of resentment towards FL initially because FL was quite the bully in primary school but i really like how they resolved it and eventually the ML falls first and falls Really Really Hard and it is Delicious. the career aspects was quite well done also and i really rooted for the FL to rediscover her passion and pick it up again, and also for the ML to become better at his craft. caveat: i actually still have 10 episodes to go as i stalled because i know there’s a couple of episodes coming up that are going to be frustrating because of typical Misunderstanding and Miscommunication blablabla. but that’s pretty common lolol and overall it’s still a cute watch.

- the 致我们 series consisting of 3 dramas :

1) a love so beautiful 致我们单纯的小美好 (2017): high school drama basically tsundere male lead x bubbly female lead, they’ve been classmates since young and are next door neighbours, female lead has a crush on him since forever

2) put your head on my shoulder 致我们暖暖的小时光 (2019): set in uni, female lead’s doing an internship far from her school, male lead is a physics student and his parents have a flat for him that is near female lead’s internship place, BAM THEY ARE FLATMATES!

3) the love equations 致我们甜甜的小美满 (2020): uni drama, female lead is a chinese language major who loves writing forensic novels online, male lead is a forensic science major.

all 3 are really cute lolol. i put these 3 because i just watched the third one two months ago and i feel like i have to mention it in the context of the first 2 haha. the first 2 were definitely hits both domestically and internationally. i feel the 3rd one kind of flopped? in terms of reception compared to the first 2 and a lot of my drama mutuals couldn’t get into it, and i can understand why because it did feel more unpolished? in terms of directorial choices/the editing/the acting/the script. but i still somehow really loved it for some reason, i think some parts of the ML’s life esp his relationship with his mum really resonated with me, and i loved FL and her friendships with her dormmates so so so so much. so i really rooted for the OTP. i think objectively in terms of quality i would rate them 2 > 1 > 3, but in terms of feels... i loved them all. and it’s all just pure fluff anyway at the end of the day HAHA.

ok i’m running out of time writing this hehe but also a quick shoutout to my 2 favourite youth/high school dramas forever - With You 最好的我们 (2015) and My Huckleberry Friends 你好旧时光 (2017) which are sister dramas/set in the same universe and imo, are the pinnacle of youth dramas and what it means to capture the anxieties/stresses/mundane joys/pain/beauty of the Chinese/Asian high school experience.

there are many others from before 2019 that i watched and enjoyed but i didn’t put them in hehe. and i’m sorry HAHA i actually don’t have much trust in my own taste LOL but i hope it helps!!

ohhhh and i’ve been trying to avoid starting on new dramas because of Exam Prep but there’s been SO MANY airing lately that i’ve been interested in:

The Bad Kids 隐秘的角落: apparently super well done suspense/thriller drama that’s receiving rave reviews everywhere!!

Love A Lifetime 暮白首: an original wuxia starring ren jialun (ML in under the power) whom i love so much and zhang huiwen

My Girl 99分女朋友: this is a modern day cdrama written by nan zhen!!! (who wrote tiger and rose) so i think it might be worth checking out :))

Do The Slide (Ryan Murray) *Part 1?*

@but1sthockey was in a Murr mood and honestly...all the time is a good time to be in that mood. So I felt creative and wrote this. It has the potential to be a mini-series...or maybe even a whole one...but that all depends on y’all.

Requested: Not technically

Warnings: Nope

You flipped through Netflix options idly for about the 15th time today. I mean, not like there is much else to do with the dub quarantine. No sports...and by that you meant no hockey. No social life. No work. Just you, your pajamas, and your rescue kitten Rufus who was probably somewhere destroying something of yours.

A notification disrupted your mindless scanning: rymur_ just posted a video. Of all the Blue Jackets you had always had a soft spot for Ryan. He just seemed the most normal of them all. He was soft spoken at all the events you’d seen him at but your eyes always strayed to him even when people like Boone or Josh were around. And you were 100% positive the two of you had made eye contact at the Blue Carpet at the home opener. He didn’t often post and the fact that it was a video was really intriguing, so you didn’t hesitate on opening it up.

A video of him playing guitar and singing came up and your jaw dropped. Of course he would be musically inclined. You listened to him sing as he strummed the guitar looking comfortable in his hoodie with a hat turned backwards. Your mouth was still wide open as he just casually sang looking perfect.

You jumped a bit when Rufus jumped onto your lap and meowed before batting at your phone. “What’d you think, buddy? I thought it was pretty great.” Rufus blinked his blue eyes at you before lifting one of his tiny paws and licking it. “Ok, maybe he wasn’t that good to you but he knocked it out of the park for me.”

You watched the video again and looked at Rufus who had begun winding his way through your ankles after jumping down. “I feel like I should say something….what do you think Rufus? Should I slide into his DMs?” He gave you a hearty meow which could’ve been yes or no but was most definitely ‘Mother! Feed me now’. But you decided to take it as an affirmative meow.

You set your phone down and after giving up on finding a new show put on Criminal Minds (one of the good ones with Derek in it) before getting up to fix yourself dinner. Sitting back down twenty minutes later with a bowl of pasta in hand you picked up your phone only to see not only a reply from Ryan but a notification that he had followed you. For the second time that day your mouth fell open and you quickly opened it to see his response.

Rymur_: Only from pretty girls who type out emoticons instead of just using the emojis provided.

Y/User: Does that mean I meet the requirements?

Rymur_: I guess it does. Too bad I only know one song then isn’t it?

Y/User: HA! Way to get my hopes up for nothing.

Rymur_: Sorry I guess lol. How could I everrrrr make it up to you?

Y/User: I don’t know if you can. I’m just devastated. But a picture of your dog would probably go a long way towards my recovery.

Rymur_: Anything to help.

He attached a picture of Jake, his puppy, curled up on his chest, but you hardly even looked at the dog (as cute as he was) because Ryan’s face was in the photo. A small smile on his face, blue eyes shining.

Rymur_: Better?

Y/User: 1000%

You decided to return the picture, even though he hadn’t asked and took a quick shot of Rufus knocked out on your chest.

Y/User: Looks like Rufus and Jake have similar choices in sleeping arrangements

Rymur_: First of all, you have no right to look that good under quarantine. Second….you named your cat Rufus??

Y/User: Don’t make me blush. And he was a rescue and already named. I thought it was unique so I kept it.

Rymur_: Sure...you can call it unique.

Y/User: Meanie. I don’t think I can talk to you if you’re going to be mean.

Rymur_: Technically I would need your number to talk to you…

Y/User: Are you asking for it?

Rymur_: I guess I am.

Your eyes widened at his boldness. You never would have guessed this about him. But apparently tonight was a night for throwing caution to the wind...since that was what you did by messaging him in the first place. So, continuing the trend you sent him your cell number. About two minutes afterward you got a call from an unknown number.

“Hello?” You asked cautiously.

“We’re calling from the IRS to inf-” The voice broke off into a hearty laugh at the choking sound that came from you. “Sorry...I just had to take the opportunity.”

“You’re even more mean on the phone!”

“Sorry!” Ryan chuckled into the phone before clearing his throat of laughter. “Really, I just wanted to hear what your reaction was. I won’t do it again. Promise.”

“Of course you’re not going to do it again because I’m going to block your number after we hang up, you big bully.” You teased.

“No! Then how would I ever seduce you just so I can steal your ridiculously named cat??” You felt a full body shiver at the prospect of him seducing you, but pressed on without letting it show.

“Well, you just revealed your entire evil scheme….big mistake.”

“Darn,” He monotones before laughing again. There was a beat of silence before Ryan spoke again. “You’re pretty fun to talk to, Y/N.

“I could say the same about you. Except for when you’re teasing me, of course.”

“Of course.”

You bit your lip. “Maybe we could chat more often? After all, not much else to do with this lockdown in place.”

“I think I’d like that. Can I talk to you tomorrow? It’s getting late.” Glancing at the clock, you saw he was right because it was almost midnight according to the numbers glaring at you from the TV.

“Sure. Or text, or snap, or DM….I’m good with anything.” Did that sound desperate? Oh no! You hoped fervently that it wouldn’t freak him out. But it definitely would and now he would probably never talk-

Your internal meltdown was cut-off by a low chuckle. “Sounds good. Goodnight Y/N. Sweet dreams.”

You melted a little, but returned in a soft voice, “Goodnight Ryan. I hope you have sweet dreams, too.” And then you hung up.

You looked down at Rufus still asleep on your chest and whispered to him, “Am I dreaming? Cuz if I am...I don’t want to wake up.”

002. Do they do anything to celebrate their birthday?

At present he hasn’t revealed it to anyone, so no. But in the past when he was in his ice hockey team a teammate’s mama or babushka will always bake him a birthday pie filled with sweet fruit filling. Apparently it’s a thing in Russia to have a birthday greeting carved upon the crust and the first slice is given to the brithday boy/girl!

006. What sense do they most rely on?

I’d wager it’s his sense of sight. In extremely tactile sports like ice hockey he always has to keep his eye on the puck, understand the play-style of his opponents. In a heist he has to be very observant and he always reads the energy of the room before putting on the mask.

009. Do they believe in happy endings?

Took all the strength in my body not to make a wisecrack there, but no, he doesn’t. But he believes it’s possible for someone to make peace with themselves.

019. If they could have a superpower, what would they choose?

Invisibility.

025. What do they consider beautiful in others personality-wise?

He appreciates kindness. Someone who’s willing to spare someone a break when things get tough. You know, empathy.

026. What do they consider ugly in others personality-wise?

Pride. Arrogance. But ironically it’s something he has a lot of.

He’s careful on what he wishes for now. A normal life is at the top of the list.

Well, to not skimp on doing anything and giving his all.

He’s generally pretty chill for someone whose blood is like 70% alcohol? Jk haha but when worked up he can be blinded by rage BUT it’s a very rare occurrence. Tends to take it out on those around him :/

089. How vocally expressive is your character?

He’s very chatty in Russian! But given that his English is limited he doesn’t really talk a lot, only if he's confident in what he’s saying or has a joke to share.

096. How do they move and carry themselves? What energy do they project?

In my mind’s eye he reminds me of a jock at the top of the food chain in high school LOL. Broad shoulders, stocky, confident, with a teeny bit of swagger but really I’m sure it’s the bulk of those muscles talking like he’s got the world in the palm of his hand... but out in the field or the rink and he’s very nimble and dexterous! Peak Mary Sue energy I suppose!

100. Does your character dream? If so, what do they dream about?

These days he only sleep comes in installations of power naps. But when he does, it’s usually like an extrapolation of the day’s events featuring people he’s seen that day. Nightmares aren’t scary, but just him being placed into unsavoury situations that feel a little too real.

The Obsidian Mirror from the same series would also be pretty cool, but also seems somewhat immoral to me, I guess, to be able to spy on others. I mean it could be useful in some cases, but still. I somehow can't think of a third one, even after expanding my options to games. A lot of game objects are just too specific to their fantasy universe and not helpful in real life. What’s the shortest amount of time you’ve worked somewhere? Not even two hours lmaoooo. Have you ever negotiated a pay raise? No. Have you ever been a victim of identity theft?
