Rudolph / Swedish Barbecue shit

I'm Swedish. I love Trevor Lipschitz. By extension, I have to love his Swedish exchange student boyfriend, Rudolph (Will Branner's character at homecoming, for those unaware). By another extension, I was then required to make a bunch of Swedish headcanons about Rudolph. At 1 AM today, I wrote down a bunch of random headcanons about them, and now here they are!

Rudolph's full name is Rudolph Svensson.

Rudolph's already a quite uncommon name in Sweden, but it's made even rarer by the fact that it's spelled Rudolph instead of Rudolf. So, simple explanation, Rudolph is trans and he chose to spell his name like that to make it look better in English.

He's fluent in English, but has a noticeable accent. It's not so strong it's distracting and hard to decipher, but it's strong enough to provoke "where are you from?" questions.

Schools in Sweden don't have sports teams and afterschool clubs, so when Rudolph first came to Hatchetfield High, he joined like seven different clubs just because he could.

It took Rudolph a solid two weeks after meeting Trevor to realize/find out Trev has an identical twin brother. He waved and smiled at Richie in the hallways several times, thinking it was Trevor. Richie was very confused.

No one knows when Trevor and Rudolph started dating. Not even them. They were just suddenly kissing and calling each other boyfriends.

Rudolph's mother taught him how to make fucking AMAZING Swedish cinnamon rolls, so Rudolph once made them for all his Hatchetfield friends. Now Trevor thinks Swedish cinnamon rolls are far superior to American ones. Picture below so you can see the pure glory.

In Sweden, barbecues aren't as big a thing as a good ol' traditional kräftskiva is (literal translation = crawfish slice). A kräftskiva is basically just when families/friends come together and eat a bunch of crawfish. Rudolph hasn't explained what a kräftskiva is, but he keeps making "The Kräftskive Monologues" jokes that no one understands, and he keeps laughing his ass off about them.

Trevor will always introduce Rudolph as, "This is my Swedish boyfriend. I found him at IKEA."

Rudolph taught Trevor the Swedish word 'lagom', which doesn't have an English translation, but basically means that something is good enough. It's not perfect or anything, but it's not too little or too much. Now Trevor uses that word on a regular basis.

I don’t think it’s been asked before? I think I just mentioned it off handedly once, so my bad.

Trevor and Rudolph are together and have been for the longest. It’s only a year, but still!

Kevin and Josephine got together more recently.

I did headcanons for those two couples here.

Caitlyn’s single. Always has been. Has been crushing on Grace for years but hasn’t managed to have a moment alone to really tell Grace that, so nothing’s come of it.

(And just to be clear, she is actually crushing on her. She does not just want to fuck her for her virginity like some people, *cough* Max and Gabe *cough*).

As for the honorary drama club members:

Rudolph’s obviously dating Trevor

Rose is currently single

Ruth, she isn’t honorary, she’s just there but I’ll include her, is definitely crushing on and fangirling over Rose

In most universes, anyways.

There’s definitely one or two where Cait and Josie get together or Cait joins Kev and Josie’s relationship. But said universes mostly exist just for the hypothetical - I don’t really have much in terms of lore.

REMEMBER THESE GUYS CAUSE I SURE DO!!! Here is some info we know about them (actor's hcs)

-Rudolph is from Sweden and is a foreign exchange student -Trevor's FULL NAME IS Trevor Lipschitz!! He is Richie's brother!! But he sadly doesn't know about his death. As Jon says in his latest stream; "He was out of town for a couple of weeks studying abroad." -Jon also says that Trevor might be an older brother to Richie or a Twin. So, to be on the safe side, since they are both Seniors, we could say that Trevor and Richie are twins, but Trevor is more mature or just came out a minute early.

THE BIGGEST INFO TO COME OUT OF THIS IS THAT THEY ARE A "UNIT"!!!

haven’t posted a hatchedfield head canon in a hot minute but so here’s some (spoiler alert: it’s mostly Jon Matteson characters)

-Daniel Stopwatch absolutely wears light up sketchers

-Gary Goldstein tells you the time by saying shit like “it’s a quarter past eight.”

-Gary Goldstein flips people off by pushing his glasses up with his middle finger.

-The first anime Richie ever watched was robotech

-Grace Chastity’s bike has a pink basket on the front and streamers on the handle bars.

-Max and Steph the type of people to troll kids on roblox (the nerdy prudes are too but just Max and Steph specifically would I feel)

Originally I was only supposed to be making the candid works for the football team shots, but I ended up also taking in another background hatchetfield character, which is Will Branner's hoco character, Rudolph

I also realized how vastly different each artstyle is with each artwork I've drawn here because they were all drawn in different weeks and different mediums, definitely me vs the clock situations just to get these submitted on time

It's already been a while since the project has been posted but I'm still really thankful for the opportunity to be included! :DDD big thank you to Birdie!

in universe I would imagine each actor playing a dozen people is just somewhere in the realm of similarity or family resemblance and not intended for them to all actually be identical. but I think Rudolph and max genuinely being near identical is very funny. you turn a corner and see max jagerman and think you're about to get your ass beaten then realize it's just the gay swede on his way to improv

Okay! I see, I figured it out. Is Will Branners Unnamed Hatchetfield High Student named Rudolph or Hans?

Will Branner says Rudolph, Jon Matteson said Hans first I think.

And I know that it's not cannon, because Nick and Matt Lang, but I'm going with Rudolph bc Will Branner is his actor.

However, it would be damn funny if he either lied about his name bc he knew the name would make him compared to a reindeer, or people called him Hans because their fuckin stupid.

You know I do!

I have so many headcanons, especially about the guys who do nothing.

Swedish Barbecue (Trevor x Rudolph):

They got together over summer break before senior year

They met up for ice creams during the Honey Festival and Rudolph asked if they could be boyfriends

Very goofy, silly boys

Almost the entire school acknowledges they’re a really sweet couple and actively ships them

Rudolph is the most supportive boyfriend

He is in the front row of all the school shows, if not he will sit on the floor in front of said row

Definitely waves back at Trevor and whispers proudly to people beside him “that’s my boyfriend”

Rudolph doesn’t let Grace tell Trev off for not doing his hall monitor duties properly

Tries to remind Trev of his lines but he isn’t very good at remembering things either, so he usually gets it wrong and Trevor ends up saying the wrong thing

Has definitely stolen one of Trevor’s costumes from the drama department because he looked cute in it and wants him to wear it at home

Trevor spends hours learning Swedish recipes and buys a lot of Swedish snacks for Rudolph. This increases by a tenfold if Rudolph is ever feeling homesick

They go on a lot of hikes together

They both really like being outdoors, especially on their dates

Always do really silly couples costumes for Halloween and other dressing up events

Babysit Luigi for Cait from time-to-time. They both love dogs but don’t have any of their own, and this gives them more of an excuse to spend time outside

They plan to adopt tons of dogs together post graduation

And I don’t actually have a ship name for them, so they’re just Josie x Kevin:

These two don’t actually know how they got together

They’d been playfully flirting for a while and they’d hangout without the others, but there isn’t an official first date or anything. It just sorta happened

They binge a lot of trashy reality TV and just scream at the TV for hours

Kevin got Josie into it, who then got Cait and Trev into it, so they could use it for scene improv

Bowling is their usual go to for date night

Though they spend a lot of time in the arcade too - they’re both pretty big on video games, in spite of being horrible at them

They’re really good at not letting their relationship overcloud things. Miss Mulberry doesn’t even clock the two are dating until someone mentions it explicitly - they just show up and carry on as they did beforehand, totally platonic

This is partially done to make Cait, the only single one of the group, not feel left out or like the third wheel

Really want to learn how to do the lift from Dirty Dancing just for fun. It should workout given the size difference. But every time they try, they just end up laughing about it and not actually doing anything

Kevin really tries to get Josie to break in scenes, not only because she’s the toughest one to crack (and if he does it’s really impressive) but he loves the sound of her laughter

Josie tries teaching Kevin to cook, it usually ends in burnt food and broken spaghetti but she loves the bonding experience of it so keeps trying

Have never played a couple onstage before or after they got together, but would like to at least once before they graduate

They sing a lot of musical love songs for karaoke together

Lots of double dates with Trevor and Rudolph
