I think it's the Tesla episode which has Yaz in that cool outfit which looks like a skirt but is actually sneaky trousers (terrible description sorry), which is my personal favourite little costuming thing and something that feels so in character for Yaz to wear.

accidentally fell into a full rewatch of space hobo show series 12 and in case anyone thought i was over how literally every single episode in this series relates back in some way to the themes of the series' driving myth arc, sets up or keeps weaving thematic parallels and reinforces the overarching narrative: i absolutely am not and i FULLY remain on my bullshit about it

(this happened bc i wanted to rewatch the timeless children but one does not simply REWATCH the timeless children. how can i fully enjoy its payoff without the 9 episodes that came before it i ask u)

possible unpopular opinion:

nikola tesla's night of terror should be held to the same regard as vincent and the doctor

both are about the doctor meeting a historical figure who is/was terribly misunderstood by the people of their time. not exactly for the same reasons, but both van gogh and tesla were mocked, laughed at, etc, yet both ended up being very influential for creative minds in the future. while tesla's ending isn't quite as unfortunate as van gogh's, neither of them got to see how much their work matters to people while they were still alive. (van gogh did, actually, thanks to the doctor... but irl that didn't happen)

idk i just get real emotional about these two episodes thinking about how much van gogh and tesla helped the world while not even being able to see it. vatd does have one-up on ntnot with the ending about the pile of good things and bad things, but otherwise these episodes are basically the same!!! there's actually a good gifset here showing all of the parallels between the two that i would recommend checking out.

pt.2 re: Advertising, according to Edward Russell, former Doctor Who brand manager, they always struggled with it because BBC America wants to promote the show months ahead but it's BBC who didn't want. As for the ratings, I'm also as disheartened but I try keep in mind that consolidated ratings are where the game is now. According to Radio Free Skaro, in BBC America DW gets a 60% boost 7+ days after. RN important ratings are the repeated viewings on streaming platforms. Hope this helps a bit!

damn, the BBC sucks ass lmao. but yeah, overnights aren't as important cause of the way TV is watched now. I'm hoping that the consolidated figures for Fugitive of the Judoon increases, I feel like it will cause of how fucking big it was. the overnight figures increased from last week (ntnot was around like 4.09mil and fotj was like 4.22mil), so I don't doubt we'll see an increase in consolidated ratings

What are your fave episodes of Thirteen's era?

This is the hardest question I’ve ever been asked.

The woman who fell to earth will always have a huge soft spot with me because it was the beginning of something that became so magical.

I think Rosa, Demons of the Punjab and Witchfinders were probably the strongest episodes of Series 11 for me. And I’m also a Kerblam fan. lol

With series 12 I loved the Doctors and Masters Arc so Spyfall and AotC/TTC but my most rewatched are probably NTNoT, Praxeus and HoVD,

I adore all of Flux and see it as a single story, but I adore 13 in WoS and Yaz in SotF the most though out that story.

I also love that we have like a Dalek trilogy with the New Year specials and often find myself returning to them.

I’m a big fan of LotSD I think it’s an enjoyable story, Dan is hilarious, the guess cast especially Madame Cheng are great. Flirty 13 is my favourite 13 and the heartfelt and heartbreak of Thasmin make it an absolute favourite.

Power of the Doctor is the best regeneration episode of NuWho (maybe all who but I haven’t seen classic who) it’s just a fun ride with Yaz at her peak and such a heart breaking conclusion.

If there was only one part of 13s era I could ever watch again it would be Flux it’s what I gravitate to most when I want to rewatch. However if you said you can only pick 3 it would be The woman who fell to earth, Eve of the Daleks and Legend of the sea devils. If it could only be 1, this is probably controversial but it would be Legend of the Sea Devils. lol
