“(Herman’s) House” by Special Interest

Both Beyoncé and Drake dropped polished, major label house tracks this year but the biggest banger, by far, was the scuzzy and anthemic “(Herman’s) House.” Besieged by capitalism’s demands for labor at the expense of real, human feeling and burned out on the boredom of modernity, Special Interest nevertheless implore us to “build it out.” The contrast between grueling impossibility and the hope of a world that deserves such efforts is embodied in Alli Logout’s vocal, by turn screeching and operatic. Equally suitable for a basement party or throwing porcelain at the wall, “(Herman’s) House” hopes to electrocute us all out of our rut.

I have a complicated history with the works for Friedrich Nietzsche, not least because it’s been more than a few years since I’ve revisited his actual writings, but one concept that’s stuck with me ever since I first encountered it is the idea that destruction is a creative force. That chaos is the process that new and better things can grow from. Reform is not a pathway to a better world, but a reifying power that consolidates opposition into ineffective and symbolic gestures toward progress. When Special Interest bellow, “Burn it down to build it again,” they’re invoking the same idea, celebrating the same drive toward creating the new from the ashes of the old. The first part of the title of “(Herman’s) House” is a tribute to Herman Wallace of the Angola Three but the second feels like a nod to the utopian potential of dance music, to the way songs can move and inspire us in the same direction and for a united purpose. It’s noisy and wild and glorious, and if we’re lucky enough, that can be the path we someday walk together.

1/7 gennaio : l’io che si ricrea...

Eccoci finalmente alla prima esaltazione di gennaio.

Come procede con l’emanazione di questa prima esaltazione di gennaio? Per me che vivo un anno personale 1 non è proprio una passeggiata, tutt’altro!

L’energia che ci avvolge è davvero strana e spinge da tutti i lati…

A livello universale sono giornate che chiamano alla  responsabiltià e disciplina. Tutta l'energia sembra canalizzata nella ricerca di ordine e metodo. Soprattutto nella sfera del quotidiano.

Sono 7 giorni che portano l’energia del 32 e del 5. 3 + 2 lo spirito e il mondo creato. La risonanza prominente è l’ espressione creativa di una libertà di senso personale. Il 32 parla di questo, ma anche di sensualità, ottimismo e curiosità, lavoro di squadra, compagnia e relazioni. Invita a interessarsi alla vita con un punto di vista avventuroso e creativo, valutando la capacità di fare ciò che gli interessa fare.

Come abbiamo visto nella previsione numerologica di gennaio, i  primi 15 giorni tutti i cambiamenti in corso potrebbero spingere a sentirsi remissivi, dipendenti, quasi incapaci di una volontà autonoma. Una brutta gatta da pelare visto il messaggio che ci porta questo 2019!

E’ come il catalizzatore che ispira i cambiamenti che potrebbero essere impossibile in qualsiasi altra situazione. Parla di inquietudine creativa  che è solo in attesa di un qualche tipo di espressione; rappresenta la scintilla creativa che si manifesta, improvvisamente e inaspettatamente, e che si avvia lungo la strada di una nuova visione creativa. Ci incoraggia a esprimere noi stessi e la nostra individualità con abbandono spensierato: ascoltiamo dunque il nostro inconscio e seguiamo le pulsioni creative, con tenacia e prospettiva equilibrata, anche se ci preoccupa di essere considerati  “la voce solitaria che grida nel deserto”.

Questo Fante di Bastoni indica che dobbiamo essere positivi e spontanei ma non eccessivamente impulsivi, perché, se da un lato l’ entusiasmo impressiona gli altri, dall’altro, se si trasforma in impazienza, incostanza o irascibilità, ci porterà proprio a metterci contro l’altro e a disperdere l’energia necessaria per compiere i progetti!

La lama ci ricorda che non dobbiamo assolutamente farci influenzare negativamente dalla complessità, dagli ostacoli e dei condizionamenti esterni. Molto spesso, infatti, può capitare di provare un feroce senso di paura quando ci rendiamo conto che ciò che vogliamo può davvero realizzarsi tanto da dubitare di voler affrontare i cambiamenti che comporta, anche se lo vogliamo profondamente!

Non lasciamo spazio quindi a questi dubbi e procediamo, ognuno con la sua sfida….

Non a caso  la lettera  che ci accompagna in questo viaggio settimanale è la  Ghimel. Ricorda  una persona nell'atto di correre; richiama la potenza del movimento; ci ricorda che ogni anima è in costante movimento. Ci invita a correre fino a uscire da noi stessi, dalle nostre stesse limitazioni; a tendere in alto con il pensiero per poi portare tutto sul piano del concreto e materializzarlo.

Per realizzare, per creare, dobbiamo lasciare spazi familiari e sicuri e andare verso ciò che non conosciamo. Occorre allontanarci da noi stessi per tornare in noi stessi... Bel giro di parole eh?!?
