Hey all, happy Saturday from shed 5 #easternmarket, one question we always get asked -how eating rice is healthy? Or someone refuses to have our rice samples. Here is my simple take, for Asians or Indians, rice is staple food, some may eat even twice for both lunch or dinner like me, in my Meal of approx 20 oz, rice is 10 oz, curry is 6 oz, and say any #protein or vegetables is 4 oz, does it make me eat less #meat yes, i remember in school cafeteria here, i used to eat same 20 oz meal with 12 oz of Chicken breast, 2 oz of rice, rest some salad, mashed potato etc, it was so unfulfilling for me on two counts- it is almost zero or low Carb meal, always felt hungry and it was so bland as per Indian standard, one data to compare-Asians in US has #obesity rate of 12% against 36% for all others, and Asians here are not poor, if you are eating fast carb like donuts, white breads etc, you feel instantly fulfilled and again hungry after 2 hours, if you eat zero carb read Meat, you would again feel like eating, that's how junk food comes into play, try #slowcarb like Parboiled Basmati Rice which keeps you full for 5-6 hours like i do, anything with Glycemic Index between 20 to 60 is slow carb, white rice has GI of 89 & white breads has 100, yes Curry can make any whole grain tasty #GoCurry #highpressurepasteurization #GlutenFree #NutFree #vegan #vegetarian #Nutrigget #mittenlove #mittenlife #Detroit #millennial #michiganders #annarbor #Curry #CurryFresh #HPP #DisruptiveEating https://www.instagram.com/p/BugoPWugWOv/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=jq2mnrzfwfdl

Still demoing at Woodward corner market. Turmeric rice with 4 flavors of Curry mixed with 3 #proteins- Chickpeas, Paneer & Nutrigget & 1 vegetable Jackfruit. Curry sauces are in PET containers, BPA free, recycle code 1, not microwavable. All other items are in BPA free pouches with recycle code 7 and are microwavable. Pouches could be heated up by warm tap water too if you want to avoid microwave.
