As for shipping: I actually don’t ship people’s characters with mine unless I have explicit permission to!! “Everyone can ship” posts make me nervous. I am really uncomfortable shipping unless I know for sure the person the character belongs to is okay with it, and tells me directly. I DO love shipping my characters with others, and all of them are multiship- So if anyone reading these has a deep burning desire to ship their characters with mine TELL ME PLEASE AND I WILL JOIN IN!!! I WILL YELL!!! I WILL BE VERY EXCITED SO DO NOT BE SHY!!!! IT WILL MAKE MY WHOLE WEEK!!!!

As I was re-arranging my arts for 2020 to fit this template… I realized there were several “good” months, and then several. More than several months of emptiness. So I replaced them with overflowing creativity from the good months instead of leaving it empty~ And I’m happy with it! ✨ That’s okay. It’s been a heck of a year. It’s okay. 2021 will come. It will be another, hopeful, beginning.

I didn’t realize I only came up with Khayalan’s sprite design in January… it feels like I’ve been in love with him forever xD Thank you for always being with me - Sketchy, Agent, Lazy, for inspiring me, for encouraging me, for … everything. For… being my friend. For making life bearable, and for quality-of-life improvement tips, and self-care and puns. There’s obviously more but well. 12. Is there anyone right now they’d want to have sex with?

Arcana world, Varga’s always down to fool around with Asra. Obayana’s lusting over Julian.

Outside of Arcana canon, Varga has exactly zero ships currently going. He would not say no to anyone wanting to top him though, so if that’s your apprentice, have at it.

ABSOLUTELY.

Little Things

Obayana/Illain drabble. Illain belongs to the lovely @lazyvoyager !

Obayana hadn’t noticed it start to happen. It was so smooth, so effortless. A nagging little bubble of warmth whenever the sun shimmered on marigold hair, a tightening in his chest at the sound of his laughter.

His feelings had grown for Illain before he’d had a chance to realize them. His own heart snuck up on his mind, skipping a beat at the sound of his voice before he knew the meaning. His eyes found constellations in the space between freckles and divot that appeared on his brow when he concentrated. Everything seemed to brighten in his presence- even the dullest greys growing more vibrant.

Soon all of Obayana’s daydreams included Illain. His kind companionship seemed a constant- Obayana could no longer imagine a place he wanted to be without him in it.

It was on one of their quiet afternoon hikes that the truth hit Obayana, the weight of it slamming into his chest like a bag of brick.

He’d always stuck to the easier trails when Illain tagged along- forgoing physical exertion in favor of watching enthusiasm light up golden eyes. It was spring, and mountain flowers were popping cheerfully through the pine needle bed where they’d slumbered for winter. Illain had disappeared further down the trail, ducking underneath sloping branches. Moments later, he reappeared laughing, one hand full of wild daffodils, the emerald dappled light painting patterns on his fair skin.

Obayana felt his face go several shades of red, his chest tighten. The realization knocked the air out of his lungs.

He was in love.

He would have told him then and there, had he been able to form the words. His tongue seemed to forget how to function, and instead his voice stuttered until he slammed his jaw shut. He’d never been good with words. He certainly wouldn’t be any better now, as Illain stood before him, looking more beautiful than any person, creature, or thing he’d ever seen.

As the weeks passed, he found it was the quiet moments alone, doing mundane things, that he loved the most. He loved the way Illain tucked his hair behind his ear when he was reading, the quick upward twitch of his eyelids when surprised. He especially loved the soft sound of his breathing as he fell asleep curled up against the bakery wall, while Obayana kneaded dough in the early mornings. He’d put an extra batch of pumpkin bread put aside for when Illain inevitably napped through the opening hours, smiling as his cat wound her way around his love’s sleeping form.

Illain’s kindness seemed to fill in the empty places of his heart, ones he didn’t even know existed.

He would tell him, eventually. He would tell him of the love that unfolded like the petals of unending flowers, deepening each day in his heart until he felt it would burst. He would find the words, someday, to explain that the only thing he was certain of, was that he wanted to be beside him as his hair greyed and his skin wrinkled. That he wanted to sleep with him tucked under his arm every night, listening to his steady breathing as the stars came and went.

Maybe someday Obayana would find his voice and tell him of his melting heart, but for now he would just keep memorizing all the little things.

Obayana isn’t thrilled with Val and Karayan’s “arrangement”, which is only further inflamed by Kara’s comments. I’m literally so sorry for any butchering of Spanish because it’s been years since I had to speak it regularly oof

“Mi amor, stop. Please.” Val’s voice is soft, comforting- but it does not break through the inferno spiraling in their love’s chest.

“Why?” Obayana’s baritone voice echoes as he shoulders the door open, striding through it without pause as Val follows him.

“You can not harm him. He is an asset-“

Val can practically see the anger rolling off Obayana in rippling waves. Every muscle in their bodyguard-turned-lover’s back is coiled tight, the strain visible through his thin shirt.

“He talks down to me.” Obayana growls, refusing to look at Val, his stride unyielding. “He thinks I’m-“

The bodyguard swallows the rest of his words, the rhythm of his steps faltering slightly. He thinks I’m worthless. A plaything...replaceable.

Obayana hadn’t realized he’d stopped walking until Val placed a hand gently on his upper arm.

“I know, mi amor, I know. What he says? It means nothing.” Val steps in front of him, their smokey irises aflame with adoration. “I have only eyes for you. You are more to me than Karayan understands.”

Before Val can say much else, Obayana wraps his arms around them, pressing his face into the space where their neck and shoulder meet. It’s a risky act, and Val stiffens as they quickly scan the room to be sure no one watches.

Obayana is sure he will be scolded for his affection later- this place is too open for such displays. He knows Val keeps their relationship a secret for his own good, but in this moment he doesn’t care. He just wants to be held. He needs to be held, for fear he will crumble under the weight of emotion like eroded stone.

He feels the irritation slipping from him as Val hugs him, running soothing fingers along his scalp. With every breath the familiar scent of their skin washes away the pain that grips his chest, a balm for his wounded pride.

“It means nada. It’s just business. Mi corazon es para ti.” Val whispers, feeling Obayana melt against them at their words. Obayana doesn’t answer save for a satisfied mumble against their skin.

“It’s not safe enough here.” Val pulls back from him, their fingers sliding under his chin as their speak. “We will meet upstairs, no?”

“Yes.” Obayana squeezes Val’s hand briefly before letting their fingers slide slowly out of his, watching his lover disappear up the steps.
