bio: the trevelyans, despite originating from antiva, are one of the most prominent noble families of ostwick. because of their strong ties to the chantry, the family does not hesitate to send their children to the circle when they discover the gift of magic. luca felt betrayed when he was sent away at just 12 years old and left on bad terms with his mother, who he was extremely close with. growing up with his father's strong disdain for magic and fearmongering from the templars caused luca to develop a fear of his own magical abilities. luca's mother passes away from illness before luca has a chance to reconcile, intensifying the guilt, fear, and nightmares he already suffered with. before he was even considered to do his harrowing, he begs the templars to make him tranquil so he won't be a threat to anybody, and won't have to further deal with his pain. when kirkwall's circle rebelled, ostwick quickly followed suit, and luca was forced to join the rebels for his own survival. he eventually joins the senior enchanters at the divine conclave as an unbiased voice. when the anchor is accidentally fused with luca's hand, his severed connection with the fade was restored, curing him of his tranquility. after being tranquil for a decade, luca must relearn how to live, how to feel, and how to be a leader, as he's thrust into reverence as the only hope to save thedas.

bio: all callie has known is the stage. for as long as she could remember, she has been performing at the witchlight carnival, hoping that one day she can be on the biggest stage in all the realms. she had been so deeply involved in her dream, it never occurred to her that she doesn't quite remember anything that came before. after being tasked to save zybilna, the founder of the witchlight carnival who had gone missing in her realm in the faewilds, callie comes to the realization that she does not remember her family. she had no memories of who she was and anything that occurred before she arrived at the carnival. she discovers, after speaking to a powerful spirit, that her parents had made a deal with endlyn moongrave, one of the hags that overthrew zybilna, so they could conceive a child. when her parents backed out of the deal after calliope was born, all three of them were cursed by the hag. calliope - who was born of pure, now-cursed fae magic, lost all her memories of her family and her identity. her parents were transformed into hideous monsters that still roam the faewilds to this day. callie must now find a way to break this curse without erasing her very being, rescue the parents she never knew, as well as save the realm from the hags that have taken it over.

bio: growing up, lilith had always had an immense and dangerous fascination with magic, and desperately wanted to learn it for herself. but there is not much a lowly street urchin can do when your main focus is surviving the day in a dirty, corrupt city. despite the hardships, lilith will always try to steal magical trinkets and tomes to try to teach herself magic. perhaps if she was strong enough, she would be able to make enough money for her and her mother to have a real home. however, lilith was caught stealing from a powerful noble, and - in a desperate attempt to save her daughter - lilith's mother takes the blame, resulting in her being cut down before lilith's very eyes. months pass and lilith is suddenly approached by a ghostly voice, claiming to be the spirit of her deceased mother. her mother's spirit says that she returned to watch over her daughter, and will be willing to teach her magic if lilith does what she is told. lilith accepts immediately, and is ecstatic that she is getting to two things she wants the most - her mother, and magic. unbeknownst to lilith, however, this apparition is not her mother. it is instead a fiend, taking advantage of a grieving orphan with a strong desire for magic, in order to manipulate her into doing its bidding. the fiend's goal is to feed lilith so much power that she eventually goes berserk, wreaking as much havoc as possible before she inevitably loses herself to the very magic she longed for.

☆ - happy headcanon for Drusilla!

One of the happiest moments of Drusilla’s life is welcoming her sisters to Skyhold. Both Aurelia and Calliope visited her there while her father refused to take back disowning her. (Her mother later showed up as well, leading to the slow reunion of the entire family. Her father never reconciled with her though, his pride won’t permit it, Herald of Andraste or not, this makes him feel like the charge of heresy was even more deserved than before)

All three Trevelyan sisters gave soirees and performed together again (Drusilla missed singing outside the Chantry more than she knew), they have the greatest time performing Antivan folk songs. Like this one:

Both Aurelia and Calliope are excellent players of the virginals and lute, thus making little pieces like that heartachingly beautiful. Bull cried when she sang this btw. :P

Oc kiss week: Day 4 Fluffy Kiss

Based upon those DAMN SIDE QUESTS GIVEN BY SANIA TO FIND THE FUCKING FROGS. But also the heated kiss that @lorspolairepeluche wrote for Halliope!! Have a Halliope fluff kiss in the FFXV AU. With cameos from @lesbiananders Inka and @judicaels Arthur ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• "They're taunting me" Calliope's head popped up above a rather wet bush, it was a wonder how she could even see in all this rain, especially with all of her hair sticking to her face. She had insisted that the four of them searched for the frogs even if it was in raining like cats and dogs outside. Even Professor Adaar had suggested they not go out during the storm. But Callie just had to get the frog mission over and done with. "We've been out here way too long, I think", Inka murmured from under a soaking wet poncho, "You're starting to hear things Callie" "How hard is it to catch frogs?! I swear to the gods above they are /taunting/ me", Calliope repeated, glancing in Halla's direction. The young woman shook her mop of wet hair and sighed heavily, although with a smile. There were sounds of the little amphibians coming from everywhere, and yet the princess was having a hell of a time trying to catch any of them. "I think we should leave it for now, honestly, because I don't know about you but I'm chilled to the bone. And I don't think the prof is going to appreciate it if we die of colds before we get his frogs to him" "I second that", Arthur grumbled from beside Inka, shivering in his own poncho. Calliope glared in their direction, earning a laugh from all three of her friends as a rather loud crack of thunder made her jump right out of her skin and bolt for the car. Frog catching would have to be put on hold for now. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• It had been rather late when the group had finally gotten back to their hotel but Calliope still opted to run a scalding hot bath. Both Inka and Arthur had piled on every blanket and down comforter they could find in the room, now looking as if they had been spat out by a textiles factory. Every conceivable pattern seemed to be flashing from where they had burrowed underneath the covers. Halla had decided to attempt to drive herself off but was having issues when Calliope had disappeared into the bathroom in a cloud of steam. The crown princess had just settled into the wonderfully hot water, moonlight colored hair drifting on the surface as her eyes fluttered shut. It gad been so long since she could relax. Every second was used up watching the group's back and making sure that she was distracted enough to not think of Solas, or worse yet, her father. Since the attack on Denerim it seemed like perhaps it was unkind to think of herself in any sense, it all needed to be spent on thinking of others. A gentle knock and the click of the bathroom door sent Calliope reeling out of her thoughts, her eyes snapping open to see Halla standing amongst the steam. "Running your own sauna in here, your Highness?", the woman asked, smirking. "Inka and Arthur stole all the blankets, how else was I supposed to warm up?" Calliope answered, sinking farther into the tub, feeling vaguely self conscious now that Halla had entered. Not that she hadn't ever seen Calliope in other various states of undress before. "Room for two in that tub?" The question shocked Callie into silence for a moment before she began considering the parameters of such a situation. Most people stilled believed she wanted to marry Solas, including Arthur and Inka, this couldn't hurt too much could it? To answer Halla she moved over quietly, and nodded. The other woman chuckled in response and began to strip away her soaked clothing; Calliope diverted her attention to adding more hot water to the tub. She barely noticed Halla getting in until her cold limbs wrapped around her and the princess nearly shrieked. "Warn a girl before you do that!" Calliope hissed, annoyed but making no move to wriggle away. Halla responded by pressing a kiss to her princess' pale shoulder, grinning against her warm skin and pulled her closer. "Where would the fun be in that?"

Screw it, Dragon Age OC headcanons:

Calliope Hawke (Warrior)

- Calliope is actually quite small and scrawny-looking for a warrior, something she often uses to her advantage. No one expects the tiny woman to wield a huge sword!

- She keeps a ridiculous number of plants in the Hawke Estate, and she still somehow manages to keep them all alive.

- She tried about a dozen times to write a love poem for Isabella; all of which were either burned or hidden where they would never see the light of day.

- She is a 'high wisdom low intelligence' character. She will take one look at a person and deduce their trauma, but then be unable to do basic math.

Aelyand Tabris (Rogue)

- Aelyand, due to his specialization as a ranger, literally adopted a bear, much to Zevran's disapproval ("Ah yes, me, my husband, his war dog, and his 300 pound bear"). He named her Smokey :)

- Speaking of Aelyand and animals, he named his Mabari (Flower) after a stuffed Mabari Shianni had as a child.

- He's always enjoyed fairy tales and old legends, so after he goes to Antiva and 'retires' from being a warden, he starts writing (usually childrens stories). A small part of him hopes that he can tell these stories to Kieran some day...

- Aelyand is deathly afraid of spiders, to the point that he has to get someone else to kill them. His reasoning is, "Any being with that many legs is up to something"

Roman Trevelyan (Mage)

- He is a bit of an insomniac, being up into the late hours of the night working on his most recent project or experiment; a habit his advisors have tried to break on multiple occasions only to find him going to ridiculous lengths to continue working.

- After Dorian leaves to go back to Tevinter, Roman adopts a cat so he won't be lonely. Its one of those very elegant looking, long black cats. Roman calls him Jenkins.

- Despite being a mage, he does know how to wield a sword; not that he's good enough to fight with one.

- Roman has an older sister, Elliot Trevelyan, whose a Grey Warden. And in spite of canon, he also has three younger siblings: Tobias, Alexandria, and Elizabeth.

Garoth Hawke (Mage)

- In canon, he was named after an obscure Orlesian author that Leeandra and Malcom were both fans of. (Out of canon, he was named after Garth from Fable 2)

- He tends to use sarcasm as a coping mechanism for all the crap he goes through. Fenris is the only party member who ever really notices this, other than Carver.

- Despite regularly butting heads with Carver, and him leaving to join the Templars, Garoth makes a point of having people check on him and make sure he's ok.

- He's quite a lightweight, when it comes to drink. He often accidentally gets blackout drunk, and only learns of the events of his escapades from other peoples accounts.

Vehra Lavellan (Warrior)

- Shes very short in her old age, even for an elf. This often results in people calling her a 'dwarf-elf,' to which she responds thats shes short enough to break their shins with relative ease.

- When she was young, Vehra ran away from her clan, and joined a travelling Orlesian circus for a time. She has many interesting stories from her time with them.

- She really likes to flaunt her age over Solas, especially with how often he claims to know more of elves than she does.

- Vehra keeps her late wife's ring on a necklace, which she never takes off. Its a good luck charm, of sorts, for her.

Something I just realized about Drusilla

I am playing DAI at the moment to cheer myself up and as always my darling girl has made me smile and that led to a friggin’ light bulb moment. Much as I LOVE Rhia and Katja, my two most in depth, long living and personal OCs of my heart...Drusilla Trevelyan has become my comfort character.

It’s not just that she’s beautiful and makes my little pan heart sing, she actually sustains me, gives me succour and hope. I mean, I know many people cringe at the “The Dawn Will Come” scene but to me it’s a frigging life anthem. The hope, the grace, the gentle nudges towards the light, it’s just so beautiful. This woman who has been disowned by her father (Only her sisters were there for her and of the two only Aurelia supported her openly. Calliope, as Head of House Trevelyan, could not openly do so. And yes, Calliope is already Head of House Trevelyan even both both her parents still live. Antiva/The Free Marches handle things differently, IE Josephine’s whole arc) and defrocked by her Aunt and mentor did not let hate or anguish fester in her heart. 

Drusilla is the most loving soul you’ll ever meet while still being a decent player of The Game as Inquisitor. (She can’t hold a candle to Leliana or Josie though, nvm Vivienne) She will offer solace to anyone in need while never trying to convert anyone or demanding a quid pro quo. Her lovers, spouses, children (She romances Blackwall, Solas and Cullen - Even though in the ‘verse proper she only begins romancing Cullen between the main campaign and Trespasser - in game and also becomes Divine Victoria’s - Vivienne - consort) and friends are her life’s delight and joy, she lives for them every day.

When Divine Victoria reinstated her as a priestess she knew that her Beloved Lady (Andraste) had never forsaken her.

But why is she, among my many OCs, my comfort character? Because playing DAI uplifts me in a way no other game has before or since. Because she gets to be so kind and doesn’t end up heartbroken in the end. Because Skyhold and its people are her home. Because sometimes she can just cuddle with her cat Duchess and Blackwall and know just how LOVED she is.

I wish I had that. But seeing her so blessed doesn’t discourage me, it uplifts me. Drusilla was born to say Goodbye to an OC I made to honour my ex (Who didn’t give a damn about said OC or any OC of mine. Or me, LOL) who was a brown paper doll on top of that. But now Drusilla has become SO MUCH more. She also shares an AU ‘verse with my beloved friend @thehikmatcut​‘s lovely Hadiza Trevelyan where they all get a Happily Ever After.

Some might say I have too many 😔 My canon ™️ OCs are Honoria Amell (romanced Alistair), Calliope “Cal” Hawke (purple personality, romanced Fenris, and Zara Trevelyan (romanced Cullen, yes I’m open to being roasted). (They’re all mages.)

I have a couple other Wardens (Ria Tabris and Andras Mahariel) and an ungodly amount of Inquisitors (two Adaars, two Lavellans, and a Cadash). I haven’t played enough of DAII to have other Hawkes aside from a fem blue!Hawke who romanced Isabela (but I never finished her playthrough rip).
