Okay, I have to ask - how does Amaranth's growth process go. Mans becomes a straight-up insect. X) How does he feel about growing up to be a bug?

It's a major part of her personality by the time she reaches her teenage years. By then she was comitted to eating as much as she could to grow into the bug she was always meant to be. She considers herself a guardian of nature with her mastery of the leaf ability, living almost like a regular katydid. Needless to say, becoming a bug was something she actively worked towards rather than something that happened to her passively!
