today is a very special day: the 1 year anniversary of anuhea coming home.

although their first post was on the 12th (and on my main blog lol) they came on the 10th!! i am infinitely grateful for all that this doll has done for me, from overcoming hard times to reigniting my love for dolls in general.

My contribution to MerMay Month. This one’s a really old OC of mine from 2015-2016. His name is Keoki Hoku and he’s the successor of the goddess Atargatis, who faded in time after humans no longer had faith and worshiped her. He lives in Hawaii with his two best friends, Keawe and Anuhea. Both aid him on his quest to retrace the steps of his predecessor and take on her mantle. Or it goes something like that, at least. I’m still figuring out the plot.

His tail shape is a lunate, which is present in fast moving fish IRL, like tuna, marlins, and swordfish. I think it’s a funny coincidence because Atargatis is also a goddess of the moon. Keoki’s tail is crescent-shaped, and his surname means “night of the full moon”. I dropped off moon stuff without realizing it until recently lmao

Drawing him was fun. I might add him to my future “merch” at RedBubble when I completely set up everything.

Did I create an OC for CoC? Yes

Do i have any artistic ability? No

But here is what she looks like in my mind.

She’s a fruit punch genasi (a water genasi). Her body is a red color, and her hair is a pink color. Her clothes are a yellow robe and beigey garb underneath (think of Beau’s, from Critical Role’s second campaign, clothes). She stands at 5’6” with a narrow and lithe body. Her name is Anuhea Cooler (because she is based off of Hawaiian Punch), and she’s a 19 year old Monk (level 2). She’s ambitious and optimistic in a subtle and quiet way. She says what she needs to, when she needs to. She believes that the Bulb has the best intentions for her and the journey ahead.

Her monastery branches off of the Bulbian church (and since Brennan hasn’t allowed the cast to take any healing spells, I’m not going to make her a multiclass with Cleric). She was born in the monastery with her parents being high ranking monks as well. She enjoys her teachings in the monastery and does anything she can to make her parents proud.

She joins the envoy at the suggestion her parents gave to the king and queen. Claiming that she will be an asset to the princesses safety, and she needs an adventure to hone her skills as a monk. The queen and king agree, for the protection and because the queen hopes that Anuhea will be a good influence on the twins.

Meet Anuhea! (they/she— Nanea doll)

Anuhea Ka’uhane is an environmentalist at heart- they not only want to fight back against climate change but to also protect Native land and prevent further damage. Her main interest in botany is motivated in protecting endangered plant species from going extinct. It is fun to see all the of the beautiful flowers when going on nature expeditions, though.

Besides botany, Anuhea is also interested in painting, astronomy, singing and fashion history. They’re currently dating Xiomara and has autism!

these past few months i’ve been struggling a lot with fatigue. it’s hard for me to do about anything (let alone take doll photos) without getting exhausted and/or tired. even today i’ve struggled with that

but this summer i hope that things will change. i’m getting a new rainbow high doll tomorrow, and i hope to travel to more places. i also wanna be active for pride this year!

my fatigue is beginning to clear up and i’m thankful that it has. expect more of anuhea’s nature expeditions! :D
