Backstory:

Elton was created in a Sombra laboratory on an unknown day. They were made using a combination of Elliot's DNA and some parts of Lars' DNA. He was raised in said lab until she was old enough to replace Elliot.

Once that occurred, Elton was released from the lab and sent to kill Elliot. However, they were taken down by the New Bureau and given an ultimatum - join or die. Elton chose to join, and with help from Marina to undo the brainwashing he grew up with, they have started to work as a lab assistant to Arson, although she isn't the greatest at their job.

Due to being tortured with Elliot's memories while being grown in the lab, Elton has a difficult time trying to remember which memories are hers and which ones are his.

Louis Lockhart (aka my tragic boyo ;-;)-

He’s 29. April 10th

5’10, lightly tanned skin, shoulder length brown hair, and hazel eyes. Is of French descent and only knows French and English.

He’s homosexual and romances Adam. He’s pretty mixed when it comes to flirting with him.(;-;)

He’s extremely friendly despite being pretty intimidating (I imagine that he has a case of rbf) and is very VERY stubborn. He is pretty balanced when it comes to skills, tho is mainly science and combat oriented.

He’s a workaholic and he doesn’t get much sleep due to it. Just an eepy mans.

The reason he joined the police force was to protect people due to the lingering guilt of not being able to save a friend in a car accident they both got into. The accident also caused him to lose his right leg from knee down. (It started out as a thought and I happened to like it)

Has a great relationship with Rebecca but seems a bit lonely even in her presence.

He’s pretty much friends with all of Unit Bravo, tho is best friends with Nate (Felix came in close :3). He respects each member and enjoys being with them and helping out. He adores Felix’s energy and how he’s just a ball of sunshine, Nate’s knowledge and his empathy, and Mason’s loyalty and sarcasm and occasionally his out of pocket comments. He was very accepting when he learned about them being vampires and did the tests to help out.

His relationship with Adam is odd. He was a bit stubborn to realize he was falling for him at first and when he did he fell pretty hard. He respects Adam’s choice of letting Louis go, but it still eats at him especially after the kiss. Mostly due to the fact he was pretty lonely with the whole Rebecca situation, he kinda longed for something. Other than the romantic feelings for him, he also respects Adam as a team leader and a friend. He does clash a bit due to his stubbornness but likes how much he cares for the team, and how organized he is with planning.

Is on the Douglas path and had Tina find out about the supernatural.

He was bitten on the neck by Murphy but managed to capture him. He also chose to save Adam instead of Sanja and was able to get the Maa-alused to sign the treaty.

I feel like he seems like a Pitbull in terms of personality and appearance, like he looks decently intimidating but is actually pretty sweet.

He likes grey, chamomile, and green tea.

He has a habit of falling asleep in the most uncomfortable places, tho tends to doze off when he’s around people he’s comfortable with and isn’t busy.

He has an allergy to seafood, mostly shellfish.

He once stole stole Adam’s aviators mostly because he wanted to see what they’ll look like on him. Just know he felt badass and he gave them back afterwards. He may have also called Adam badass when he would wear them a few times.(heheh)

He collects stickers to put on his prosthetic as they tend to not last long. He also collects trinkets from the different places he’s been.

Robyn Langford (aka my smart lil bean)-

They’re 26. December 21st

5’4, fair skin, short curly ginger hair, and blue eyes. Is of Canadian origin and knows French, Spanish, Latin, and English.

Bisexual and is romancing Mason. They’re hella shy with the man to where it’s funny.

They’re very stoic and a pessimist. Are a bit sarcastic and a teeny bit intimidating tho can be very kind. They’re extremely observant almost like the guy on Psych. They are knowledge and deduction oriented and are very bad in combat.

They are extremely organized when it comes to work related things but is the complete opposite when it comes to personal stuff. (Their apartment is not the best Heh)

They joined the police force after deciding the military isn’t a good fit for them.

Robyn’s relationship with their mother is terrible, as they don’t like being lied to or not being told anything.

They get along with the rest of Unit Bravo, mostly treating them as professionals in a friendly manner. Surprisingly they became close with Felix especially with their personalities being quite different. They respect both Adam and Nate, enjoying the fact they’re similar minded and how close they are. They were disbelieving when they learned that they were vampires and didn’t do the tests.

Robyn didn’t mind the fact that their relationship with Mason started out with only lust, mostly because they also didn’t have much romantic interest in the beginning. It was only towards the end of book 2 when they started noticing something else was present. They care for him deeply and loves every side that he shows to them, tho they get hella flustered when he flirts or is out of pocket.

Is on the Douglas route and didn’t have anyone know about the supernaturals.

Wasn’t bites by Murphy and had him captured. Had saved Mason but also managed to keep Sanja alive and had the Maa-alused sign the treaty.

They are compared to a fawn, according to my friend and myself (Heh- goes well with the fact Mason was once compared to a wolf >:3) also they have stolen his leather jacket and tends to wear it a lot, even if it’s huge on them and they have their own.

They are absolutely fond of Mason’s freckles and occasionally when they’re bored, they count them.

They get sick pretty easily and tends to just ignore it unless it’s bad. Sometimes they would get sneezing fits and afterwards complain about how their nose is stuffy.

They hyperfixate on random facts about things and would randomly start talking about them to the team when they have nothing to do.

Eden Greene (aka no thoughts head empty)-

He’s 21. October 17th

6’2, olive skin with two moles under his eye and near his mouth, dark hair and dark brown eyes. He’s Mexican-American, his father being Hispanic and his mother American tho he took his mother’s last name. He only knows English

Demisexual, romancing no one (woah-)

He’s extremely friendly and charming, very sarcastic and hella easy going. He is extremely hyper and just a ball of energy. He is combat and people oriented, knowledge being his lowest skill.

He joined the police force to have something to do.

He has an amazing relationship with his mom and finds every opportunity to make their bond stronger.

He is friends with all of Unit Bravo and is best friends with Mason. He loves to cause mischief with Felix (mainly by picking on Adam heheh) and also jokes around with Mason. He bonded pretty well with Adam and Nate, mainly seeing them as mentors in a way since they are both amazing with their own skills. He is fond about how the team treats each other and is excited to be part of it. He was pretty confused and somewhat concerned on the fact they were vampires but quickly got used to it and even excited about the new experience.

Is on the Bobby route and had Verda find out about the supernatural.

He got bit on the neck by Murphy and failed to get him captured. Failed to save Sanja and the Maa-alused join the rouges.

Hes definitely a golden retriever.

Kinda have a smart dumbass vibe goin on lol.

He loves being outdoors and loves sweets.

He says he likes coffee but it’s mainly cream and sugar.

He’s the type that would drink fruit punch while Unit Bravo drinks blood since he doesn’t want to be left out.

He goes with the flow most of the time, but slowly gets overwhelmed by things over time, especially when things aren’t working.

Background: A former member of the now defunct Playfellow Workshop she was one of it's original team members who came on board when it first was created. Despite lingering biases against African-Americans at the time, she became an integral part of the team and one of it's best puppeteers. She also one of the closest of the team to the puppets that she occasionally was able to enter into their world among with other members, including Ronald Dorelaine. However, things became strange when certain activity began happening on the set and there had been a corrupting force on the production. As a result, the show was canceled to prevent it doing any more harm so she was cut off from the friends she made and left a lot of information from the show in the house she had in the Welcome Home world. She then went onto do other puppet productions including the Block Building where her granddaughter, Doli, was on. She would doing puppeteering until her retirement and she would move in with her oldest daughter and her family until her death. She wouldn't be able to reconnect with her friends in Welcome Home but her grandchildren would. * She kept in touch with many former members of Welcome Home but they didn't discuss the show due to the history behind it. * She had a habit of singing out songs when she was in one of her happy moods. Alias(es): Born: Petra Maral Nazari, though she’s also gone by Petra Nazarian (reclaiming the truncated -ian suffix)

Place of birth: Arcturus Station

Hometown: None, though she often daydreamed in childhood/adolescence that she had family back on Earth who would take her in (having grown attached to the idea that her parents had family they didn’t talk about). Her mother is from the Pacific Northwest, and her father is Persian-Armenian; from this information, Petra took a special interest in researching what living on Earth would be like---the natural wonder to explore, all the imaginary cousins and friends she’d meet. It was a way to cope with the isolation of being a spacer kid. (Funfact: this is the origin of Liara’s hallucinations in SAtS 15; note the mentions of Douglas firs and the Ararat Plain.)

Spoken language(s): English... and whatever else was required. Learning languages was a sort of backburner hobby for her, so she never got around to making much progress---not for lacking of trying. Liara roasts her endlessly for how awful her Arlees is, but to be fair, Arlees is difficult as hell (as are all asari languages).

Occupation: Retired after the end of ME3; she’s permanently disabled given limited resources post-war. Being a lifelong patient and surgical guinea pig to Miranda isn’t something she wants, especially if it only results in marginal QoL improvements.

Hair color: ?? On herself? Just natural. On others I don’t think she has a preference.

Song: She has a high tolerance for annoyingly repetitive music and generally loves pop (from any culture) that’s easy to dance and sing along to. Aside from that, her tastes also probably trend fairly bizarre at times, e.g. she unironically loves meme music and parodies, etc.

Food: Anything that’s hot and filling. She appreciates food that’s self-contained, like dumplings and burritos.

Drink: Coffee, coffee, and then more coffee. She had some bad experiences drinking while younger---and suspects her father struggled with alcoholism---so she’s a teetotaler until she finds herself working with Cerberus (and leans into some very unhealthy coping mechanisms).

This is a plot point in LWLS Book 2 (for the ME2-era flashbacks), and something Liara references in SAtS Chapter 19: “She carved all her old scars back into new skin.” Petra doesn’t take her Cerberus resurrection very well, let’s just say; it’s unnerving being a palimpsest.

Thought of suicide: Yes

Attempted suicide: Not... yet.

Wanted to kill someone: lmao, she tries not to, but... sometimes it’s just gotta be that way amirite fellas?

Have / had a job: Yep. If we’re talking pre-canon though, then she just took up odd menial jobs around the ships her parent(s) served on. Her father especially was the type to be controlling just for the sake of being controlling, so she didn’t have many opportunities to follow her academic passions; if her parents caught her enjoying something, they usually took it away. Before her enlistment, she also had to devote an excessive amount of time to PT/healing and (failed) training after her botched L3 surgery---one she only consented to under duress.

Have any fears: She has problems with vulnerability, which is why she usually handles situations either with stoicism or inappropriate and unnecessary humor. Relationship-wise, it’s hard for her to reconcile how she fears being alone while also feeling deeply uncomfortable with being Known™.

let’s enjoy chief mechanical engineer drummond’s wiki page before it gets rewritten for violating neutrality

After reading the tale of that poor M7 ‘Motor Tank,’ I decided to spend a little time reading up on its designer, Dugald Drummond, whose name I’ve seen around quite a bit. 

Turns out, his Wiki article has some gems.

It starts off neutral enough:

Dugald Drummond (1 January 1840 – 8 November 1912) was a Scottish steam locomotive engineer. He had a career with the North British Railway, LB&SCR, Caledonian Railway and London and South Western Railway. He was the older brother of the engineer Peter Drummond, who often followed Dugald's ideas in his own work.

He was a major locomotive designer and builder and many of his London and South Western Railway engines continued in main line service with the Southern Railway to enter British Railways service in 1947.

So far, so good. Nice overview.

I knew that he was with the Caledonian at one point because he was the one who originally designed Donald and Douglas’s general line—though the twins were made long after Drummond’s time on the C.R. and were more “cousins” of the original 294 and 711 classes, one of whom is the basis of my OC Angus (who should finally debut in fic by the end of this month when I update QLIR). Still, the resemblance between all variations of the Drummond-originated “Jumbo” line, even over the course of 30 years of production and tweaking, is tremendous. (See below the cut.) 

Anyway, enough TTTE background. I’ll hold us up just long enough to also gratefully acknowledge that he also designed quite a lot of truly elegant, swanky-looking engines for the L.S.W.R. Which, as the intro notes, often remained in service for ages. (See below the cut, again.)

Okay, that’s done. Now let’s get down to the business of mocking a guy who’s been dead for a really really long time! 

Drummond was involved as an expert witness in the Tay Bridge disaster of 1879, being called to give evidence about the state of the track after the disaster. Although Ladybank, a 0-4-2 locomotive of Drummond's design, had been booked to work the train it had broken down and was replaced by no. 224, a 4-4-0 to the design of Thomas Wheatley, thus freeing Drummond to act as an independent witness.[1]

In 1882 he moved to the Caledonian Railway. In April 1890 he tendered his resignation to enter business, establishing the Australasian Locomotive Engine Works at Sydney, Australia. The scheme failed rapidly.

Drummond accepted the post as locomotive engineer of the London and South Western Railway in 1895, at a salary considerably less than that he had received on the Caledonian Railway.

He remained with the LSWR until his death. His locomotives for this railway were usually capable, as long as they had no more than 8 wheels. However, his 4-6-0 designs ranged from disastrous to mediocre.

He also encumbered many of his LSWR engines with innovations which he had patented himself, such as firebox cross water tubes, and his smokebox steam drier, which only gave a very small degree of superheat. After his death, his successors improved the performance of many of his engines by fitting them with conventional smoke tube superheaters.

Was this article written by the descendant of some erstwhile business partner that Drummond screwed over?

I was under the impression that he was generally considered a very capable and innovative designing engineer. (Yeah, his 4-6-0s are best left unmentioned, but I’m not aware of any truly successful Atlantics in the U.K. before Grouping anyway. Though I haven’t really read up on the Great Western at all. Those smug successful show-offs will probably be all Yeah we had a reliable 4-6-0 class by 1883 or some such bullshit. But even fucking Nigel Gresley himself had some struggles turning out a really solid 4-6-0.) 

Drummond died on 8 November 1912 aged 72 at his home at Surbiton. A myth has developed that he died as a result of scalding received on the footplate. However C. Hamilton Ellis states that he had got cold and wet and demanded a hot mustard bath for his numb feet. He was scalded by the boiling water. He neglected the burns, gangrene set in and amputation became necessary. He refused an anaesthetic and died of the shock.

3. What is their biggest motivator?

My gut instinct is to put “spite,” but actually Kira may be my only OC that isn’t entirely driven by spite. Her biggest motivators are probably compassion and the pursuit of knowledge. Not so much the desire to learn or to know things, but the desire to understand.

Kira wants to help - to help people, to help make her corner of the world a little brighter. That’s why she became a cop, it’s why she took the promotion to Detective, and why she agreed to join the Agency and Unit Bravo. She helps in a hands-on way, reaching out a hand to pull people to their feet or standing between them and those that would hurt them, but she also does it by trying to learn and understand as much of the world as she can. And now that she works with the Agency, there’s a whole new world to learn about, to figure out how best she can help them too. She may never realize it, but I fully expect her to become That Human for a lot of the supernaturals at the Agency - you know, “I hate humans except for That One”

But also, occasionally, spite. She’s still mine, after all :P

15. What is their greatest achievement?

So far, probably becoming a Detective.

She had planned to take the tests and try to become one in her own time once she felt she was old enough/wise enough/experienced enough, though obviously it didn’t work out that way. Still, she feels honored that she was considered the best candidate for the job. She was worried that she wouldn’t be respected. The only person at the station younger than her is Douglas, plus the simple fact that she’s probably pretty known around town, if only as “Rebecca’s daughter” or “the Kingston girl” so she thought the town would treat her like a kid pretending to be a cop, but that hasn’t been the case at all. The first time she got “yes, ma’am”’d probably made her giddy lol

20. Fears?

She’s scared of needles, now. She didn’t used to be, but the Agency’s blood tests, followed by Murphy’s experiments, and then a few weeks in a hospital on an IV… yeah, she isn’t great with needles anymore.

She’s also scared of closed in spaces, not so much claustrophobic as she is scared of the inability to move. Being bound or trapped and forgotten. Also made worse by Murphy’s experiments, unfortunately.

37. When was the last time they cried?

Probably at a book she read tbh

I can’t think of any major recent events in her life that would have made her cry, but she doesn’t fight it when the tears come for whatever reason, so… yeah. Probably at a book or movie. Emotional catharsis is good.

49. Do they like surprises?

She doesn’t mind them. She’s a very observant person, so it’s hard to pull the wool over her eyes, so when someone does manage to she’s probably delighted.

60. What is something that they’re sure to laugh at?

She loves sarcasm. The snarkier the better.

70. Which TV Trope(s) best describes them?

Badass Normal seems an obvious one. So is Bi the Way and Southpaw because, y’know, she’s mine. Besides those:

The Face - definitely as her role as Detective, but considering Nate is the only member of UB with any social skills, she’ll probably end up playing this role for them too.Sir Swears-A-Lot - again, because she’s mine.The Alleged Car - obviously, The Car is kind of a hunk of junk, but I’ve stated before that Kira paid more for her favorite pair of boots than she did for her beloved car.

There’s probably (definitely) a lot more, but if I get lost on TV Tropes I’ll still be there days from now.

87. What is their age?

At the beginning of Book 1, she’s 25. She turns 26 on 28 April 2018, between books 1 and 2 :) which makes her born in 1992, which for some reason makes me feel ancient

99. Biggest accomplishment?

I feel like there’s some overlap here with greatest achievement, as she would probably say becoming a Detective here, too.

But actually, I think joining the Agency was more personally fulfilling. It’s something she worked for, something she really wanted, instead of just having it handed to her.

Plus, it brings with it a sense of belonging that I don’t think she’s ever had before. She’s lived in Wayhaven her entire life, but has always felt just a little bit apart. A big fish in a little pond. She knows a lot of people, but she doesn’t really have a lot of friends, and those she does have outside the Agency - Tina and Verda - aren’t Wayhaven natives. Tina moved there as a teenager, but was homeschooled, so she and Kira didn’t meet until they were paired as partners at the police department. Verda has only been in town a few months, but he’s a work-friend-turned-real-friend too.

Unit Bravo is different. Obviously. Part of it is because it gives Kira a chance to really connect with her mother, who she’s always been close to but, again, just a bit apart from. Not anymore, though - the Kingston women are going to be a force to be reckoned with. But with the rest of them, it’s less work friends to real friends and more… work antagonists to real friends. They skipped past the work friends part. It went from “why are these assholes in my office, I shot one of them already and am not afraid to do so again” to “I refuse to leave them even in order to save my own life” in what, a month and a half? Two months?

So the fact that over the course of those two months she proved herself enough that the Agency wanted to keep her around, that UB made an excuse to stick around even though they’re one of the best teams at the Agency and could have easily pawned “Kira Babysitting Duty” off on a lesser team, that she’s now a member of said team… yeah, that feels pretty fucking accomplished.
