Tagged by @inquisimer to create my OCs in this picrew, and their swords in this picrew. Thank you! I've never done a picrew before - so many choices. Shout out to the artists who put them together!

Gillian Hawke - If she's going to kill people, Gill figures she might as well use a fancy knife (rubies and gold preferred.)

Celeste Trevelyan - I think this sword design is something crazy Cece would draw up to show Dagna. She has the tastes of any self-respecting teenage necromancer: bats, purple, and moss. Luckily for an Inquisition that is already struggling with a questionable image, the young Herald decides to stick with her bow and staff.

Marcus (AKA Cal) - The sword with personal significance! It's supposed to have a carved griffon head on the pommel, but I thought the sunburst was nice. Marcus' silverite arming sword was a gift from Warden-Commander Duncan. Given his status as a mage, Marcus didn't need to learn swordsmanship, but he pursued it with a tenacity that earned him grudging respect from his fellow Wardens. However, his friend Magaleth the Mapmaker wasn't terribly impressed by his skills, so she enchanted a Lightning Rune into the sword.

OC Ask about Gil: Tell their life story as best as you can in ONE paragraph. | As a child, what did they always dream of doing? have they done it yet– and if no, why not? | Are they good at giving advice? What about following it? | Does fame appeal to them?

I started answering this ask like a week ago, and then forgot it was still sitting in my drafts ... oops! Anyway, here's Gil Hawke:

Gillian always knew that her family was different from others, but she didn't quite know why. On the day her magic manifested, her father took her aside and gave her a long talk about personal responsibility: she never knew her mother had a very different conversation on the same theme with her twin brother Marion. When Carver came back from Ostagar alone, there wasn’t time to grieve: she was the oldest and it was her job to keep her family safe. Only three Hawkes made it to Kirkwall, a fact she constantly tries to make up for by collecting every lost soul she can and doing anything in her power to keep them from harm. From assisting in Anders' clinic to listening to the rambling drunks in the Hanged Man, Gil gives and gives and gives ... if she isn't careful soon there will be nothing left

Gil was one of those little girls who dreamed about her wedding day, but as she grew older and learned that she was a) a mage and b) attracted to women, the dream of her "fairy tale" wedding started to feel both silly and painful. After Inquisition, instead of going to Weishapt she goes home to Merrill and proposes: she's tired of waiting for perfect she just wants to be with her

Gil is great about giving advice and usually good about taking it, so long as it's not just an insult disguised as "brutal honesty". Her love language (giving and receiving) is words of encouragement and that's what she considers her advice to be ... Carver disagrees

Gil never wanted to be famous, per se, but she does like having her work recognized. At first, she feels guilty about that fact ... she should just do things because it's right/important, not because she wants to be praised. The Kirkwall Gang (for all their catty bullshit) really help her grow in confidence and unpack her unrealistic expectations for herself and she does come to take pride in being The Champion of Kirkwall ... up until everything spirals out of control

I dont post enough about kit (my oc) and larry so heres some qaurintina things

*Larry has done all the grocery shopping while kit does all the online shopping

*Her anxiety got out of hand to the point shed panic about the outside

*its gotten better but she still freaks out when theres large gatherings or people touch her

*Larry really got into outfits in his down time, finding cheap but good pastal goth shit to match his wifu, some old style alice cooper shirts, leggings

* he found a batch of horror leggings and now kit had to show him how to store them

*Larry painted like alot at first, fearful things and haunting colors, right now hes trying to work in a sunset with a small shadow in the center

* Larrys also been in a panic, keeping uo to date on the news like a hawk and calling his mom every week to make sure shes ok and to spread what hes heard

*Virtual sunday dinners with the gang, the todd house with neil and todd and sal and gizmo, Ash from her home on the other side of town, chug and maple and soda just a few floors up

*the two really tried to stress they didnt want chug coming over cause of covid. But really its cause they knew he was forgetful and didnt wear a mask when he went outside

*money became an issue for a hot minute but they figured it out

*Larry sells decrepted paintings while he waits for his job to return from war

*kits been selling candles and they have a shared etsy. Both files for ei so its gotten better

*dark but for a moment in the fall kit had become a bit of an alcholic, drinking all the tine despite being sick, always on something

*Larry hid her booze to keep her sober for a bit, knowing she woukdnt go for it if it wasnt there

*they had a long talk about it turbing into a fight that left them both in tears

*moderation, kit now only drinks on monday nights and larrys stopped smoking every hour on the hour, now enjoying one after his coffee, his lunch, before dinner, before bed

*movies everynight especially when one of them falls in love with an actor or actress, right now may 2021 theyre in love with Christain Slater, Gillian Anderson, Ezra Miller and David Duchovny. Also documentries.

*Its been long and stressful year and a half but things are kinda looking up. They both have just gotten their first shot. The last of their friends as Neil is a nurse and got his boyfriend done months ago, sal is an at risk becuase of his medical issues, ash was in a hot spot and chug and maple when while they babysat soda. (Doing their best not to be clean freaks about the 5yearold)

*Even larrys mom got the shot and Kits dad

*a little relaxed now they still take precaution, sanitising after touching doors outside, wearing masks, keeping away from people

*inside they are still chillin, now that the warm weathers come out they like to hang out by the patio in the back, tending to kits garden shes been working on to help the cost of food, reading in the sun light and making wreaths and other decorations for the house.

*did i mention they live in larrys old apartment and he took over his moms job after she got a diffrent one that paid alot more and had benifites. cant do your job if thers no imidiate issue and theres a stay at home order in effect by the city.

Might do an update on how their summer goes.

This isn’t a very important post, especially when I should be doing drafts but if anyone has these faceclaims to go against any of mine, platonically, romantic, strangers, etc. HMU! (MESSAGES!) Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas. [Still reading it.] Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. [Reread.] A Brief History Of Time by Stephan Hawking. Mental by Jaime Lowe. [Still reading it.] Some book about clinical psychology that I cannot remember its name or its writer.

4. What is the most important part of the writing process for you? Is it the outlining? The drafting? The editing? The beta reader reviews? Alpha readers?

Beta and Alpha readers because they help see if I have successfully delivered my message, if I was able to let them see what’s going on in my head, feel what the characters are thinking, live in my book and never want to get out.

5. Do you write short stories? If not, would you consider writing them? Why/why not?

It depends on my mood really.

6. Tell me one random fact about your WIP or your OC - anything you want!

My WIP is actually like an alternate reality where everything I faced, or people I know, faced in my life are twisted into something else to represent it. Many of my OCs are based on people I know.

7. What’s your favourite colour? Why?

Black because only in total darkness can beauty be clear, can stars shine brightest, can the world be cleansed.

8. Do you try to make your protagonists/MCs likeable? Why/why not? Do you think likeability is important in characters?

Depends on the MC. Some MCs I’m trying to portray as hated and terrifying while they are not so bad, others I give the vibe of safety and calm while they are the evil in this world.

9. Describe your ideal lifestyle. What does a normal day look for you in your perfect life?

Waking up early in the morning with my boyfriend, having a light breakfast, feeding the cat too before taking a quick shower then going for a quick morning jog, another shower before taking my car and driving to Med School for the morning and at night, I’d sit in the balcony, underneath the stars and in the fresh air, typing down novels after novels while my boyfriend sits next to me finishing his own work or doing whatever but just sitting with me.

I broke my teeth like three or four times in my life? but my dentist is amazing as fuck so he saved them lmao
