Tagged by @inquisimer to create my OCs in this picrew, and their swords in this picrew. Thank you! I've never done a picrew before - so many choices. Shout out to the artists who put them together!

Gillian Hawke - If she's going to kill people, Gill figures she might as well use a fancy knife (rubies and gold preferred.)

Celeste Trevelyan - I think this sword design is something crazy Cece would draw up to show Dagna. She has the tastes of any self-respecting teenage necromancer: bats, purple, and moss. Luckily for an Inquisition that is already struggling with a questionable image, the young Herald decides to stick with her bow and staff.

Marcus (AKA Cal) - The sword with personal significance! It's supposed to have a carved griffon head on the pommel, but I thought the sunburst was nice. Marcus' silverite arming sword was a gift from Warden-Commander Duncan. Given his status as a mage, Marcus didn't need to learn swordsmanship, but he pursued it with a tenacity that earned him grudging respect from his fellow Wardens. However, his friend Magaleth the Mapmaker wasn't terribly impressed by his skills, so she enchanted a Lightning Rune into the sword.

The farmer I buy hay (and some firewood) from hasn't had time for deliveries yet, and he texted me yesterday to ask what I needed most urgently, hay or wood. Selflessly, I said hay.

That /is/ the gate for hay deliveries! Great memory, Pirlouit. I see what are the important spots in your mental map.

I hope you realise that I'm sacrificing myself for you. By telling our neighbour to prioritise your food over my comfort.

But even if I didn't, I would prioritise you and your hay because I love you. I would freeze to death to ensure you are fed

RETURN TO MONKE (PUBERTY EDITION)

MK’s monkey form doesn’t feel right to me so i wanted to break up his transformation into stages. Maybe as he learns to accept that side of himself it becomes part of him, instead of changing between human and monkey randomly (which is probably painful). Love yourself, NOW!!!

#ALSO BECAUSE. THAT BOY NEEDS A NOSE #i like the idea of MK constantly flashing between his monkey and human forms as some sort of internal conflict or identity crisis #and he can’t hold his monkey form for very long soo. I’m going to put way too much thought into it and say its some sort of repression #also I made the hair on the sides of his face more attached or growing on the cheeks so it kind of frames it #maybe it’s because his design is so top heavy on his head and that’s why the sideburns feel wrong to me #like it’s fine with Swk and macaque because their hair is more like a tuft. but MKs hair is longer it just feels less balanced shape wise #I also don’t see his tail being very strong right off the bat because it’s. a new limb so the muscle has to be underdeveloped imo #I’m still a firm believer in the face mark XP system though. that is his Minecraft experience bar fight me #ALSO ALSO going back to him flashing between human and monkey. I like doing my shopping early. I especially like that hour-ish when I am the only customer in the place and can quietly drift between the aisles listening to the employees talk among themselves, replace stock, and get ready for the day. But it also means that I'm never quite prepared when wild things happen at 7am outside the grocery store.

That particular truism was impressed on me anew this morning, when a man biked past, screaming, with his underwear---the only item of clothing on his person---clutched in one hand.

Notes:

Her having pins was inspired by a headcanon I've seen that pins to the islanders were like earrings for Vaugardians

Her eyes were kinda meant to resemble Loop's but they also sort of resemble Euphrasie's (who I also headcanon to be an islander)

I wasn't initially intending on naming her but for now I'm calling her Luna!

You can't tell with the cloak but she's wearing a long dark skirt

That one chef saying that the worst thing about a bad boss is how they unlock that behavior in you and seeing Carmy mirror the attitude of the chef that terrorized him and gave him panic attacks and then ending the season with Syd having a panic attack because of the stress of working with Carmy...diabolical.

#idk if it's a little too on the nose or not (i literally just finished the season so i haven't had time to sit with it) but that whole #element is so interesting (and so devastating). and the ways that mirrors all of Nat's worries about continuing the dysfunction of her #family now that she has a kid...#i also think its a good portrayal of how not addressing your trauma and leaving things to fester can end up hurting other people way more #than it hurts you. like even if Carmy is okay with choosing to not have a life or to be close with anyone (which. debatable) he's #not the only one whose life gets fucked by that. the mess just radiates out until it hits everyone around him and he ends up creating #the same circumstances that caused his dysfunction in the first place.#even if evil joel mchale chef is right (a+ casting btw very punchable face) and carmy needs to ruin his life to be a good chef #--which is a big if--he's actively making the people around him less able to do their jobs. which then makes the people around them #less able. and so on. so in the end it's still net negative. and like. chef terry proves that he's actually completely wrong #the environment in her kitchen is the exact opposite and everyone is operating at an insane level anyway no abuse necessary #this season was definitely the weakest of the 3 but i rly wanna see where they go next. and they better drop the next bit soon bc that was #in no way complete #the bear #the bear season 3 #carmy berzatto #sydney adamu #the bear spoilers

I unfortunately picked up Bravely Default 2 again (I bought it back when it released) and then started over since I last played it in June 2021. And. You know what. I like these silly beans. And then I saw concept art for Dag's expressions and I am not the same. Why did they decide to give him huge fangs in it.

(also I'm trying so hard to avoid spoilers less for plot but more for characters so if you know anything that happens to characters shhhhh. also the expression concept is below the read more so you can see what I mean.)

#too lazy to fix the glaring tangent #skunk mail #Anonymous #a doodley #blue is my favorite color but its so hard to work with. true blue is TOO boring and swinging too far green or red breaks the pattern really #easily #anyway yeah. i wanted to add bright yellow greens here as contrast to the blue purple but he doesnt have any green themes at all #closer to blue looked too muted. so went with the teal even though he's not a teal guy either. close enough to blue #original darigan kyrii colors are fitting. talon loves royal and navy blue but its easy to represent him with red #he has purple scheme regularly because of dis (in his usual hair and eyes)#so making the beast blue purple and keeping the eyes leaning toward red fits !#the big ears and the teeth and nose...kyrii just looks like the bat monster version i wanna make for him
