As Tyrion rounded the corner, he spied Abigail and Nadya, their whispered words echoing off the cold stone walls of the deserted corridor. They fell silent upon seeing him, their eyes betraying a shared grievance from which they saught out eachother for solace. The air had been thick with tension for weeks, and Tyrion longed for the day he could breathe freely in their presence once more. Abigail, usually indifferent to his dalliances, seemed particularly aggrieved this time, and Nadya's discontent only deepened the mystery. It wasn't the affair itself that troubled them, he knew, but something far more elusive.

Failure is not an option, it is death. Nadya knows this better than anyone. Each member of the Volkov syndicate receives the brand of the family, a snarling wolf, burned into them.

In the words of Howard Stark, “Nikolai Volkov is the cruelest son-of-a-bitch in Manhattan.” With a far-reaching reputation for bloodlust, Nikolai’s children were not spared his violence. Nikolai raised his children to fulfill roles. He made it clear, you stray from what you were born to do, and there will be consequences. Nikolai branded each of his children with the Volkov symbol to show who they belonged to.

Mother: Irina Volkova

Irina Volkova was never going to survive. At barely 18, she was married to the much older Nikolai in hopes of saving her family. It didn’t work. They were murdered in front of her, leaving Irina mute for the rest of her life. Nadya and her siblings spent most of their childhood rarely seeing Irina, with the exception of Aleksandr, who Irina favoured. For most of her life, Irina remained isolated in her room alone.

Eldest Brother: Viktor Volkov

Viktor was both the eldest and the most bloodthirsty of his siblings. Groomed to take over for his father, Viktor was merciless in asserting his dominance over his siblings, even going so far as to murder his sister when he felt she was becoming too ambitious, coveting his position as heir. When Nadya became a liability to the organization, Viktor was all to happy to have her stamped out. However, despite watching her fall from a 7 story building with a a magazine emptied into Nadya’s chest, Viktor couldn’t escape the feeling of being hunted.

Older Sister: Ekaterina “Katya” Volkova

Despite being the only girls, Nadya and her sister had a strained, if not outwardly hostile relationship. Katya’s ambitions got the best of her. When she was 16, Viktor took notice of her potential and viewed her as a threat. Katya was poisoned and died a painful death. Viktor was named head of armed exports for the family as reward.

Older Brother: Aleksandr Volkov

The favourite of his mother, Aleksandr lacked the raw desperation needed to claw his way to the top. Aleksandr doted on Nadya, sneaking her sweets and toys when she was young. At 25, Aleksandr fell in love with a young woman named Nina. They started dating and within six months, they made plans to run away. Aleksandr confided in Nadya, and she agreed to distract their father so he could steal money from their father. However it all went wrong. Aleksandr was caught by Nikolai. His father was incensed and tortured Nina in front of Aleksandr for hours, until she died from the bloodloss. As punishment for Nadya disobeying him, he forced her to kill Aleksandr for his treason.

Personality: Nadya is a very guarded person, which is understandable given her upbringing and history. Nadya is always on the defensive and is cautious. she rarely lets people in. She is very intelligent and has a keen strategic mind. She can often see 2 steps ahead in any scenario. Nadya is normally cold and unapproachable, but suffers traumatic flashbacks and night terrors, which can cause her true emotions to show through. Nadya struggles to work with others and often takes initiative to work alone. Nadya can often be reactionary and automatically responds to uncomfortable situations with anger or violence. A tough nut to crack, Nadya has a thick shell and doesn’t let people in easily. However, beneath her exterior, Nadya is much softer than she seems.

The Volkov family can be recognized by their teeth. As their surname suggests, the entire family has abnormally sharp canines, giving them a predatory look. Some think it’s cosmetic, others a genetic mutation. All they can know for sure is that they aren’t just for show.

When she was 8, Nadya got to keep one of the puppies her father bred as a reward for doing well in her training. She named her Zarya. Three weeks later, Viktor killed Zarya as revenge after Nadya broke one of his model planes.

Nadya has no finger- or palmprints. Her father had them burned them off with acid when she was 15.

She speaks fluent Russian and English. She has a faint accent speaking English because she grew up speaking Russian more.

She is immune to most poisons. She built up an immunity to the most common ones starting after her sister’s death.

For a year, Viktor referred to Nadya and her sister exclusively as сука*. Katya eventually slapped him for it, which enraged him so much that he had little emotion towards slipping poison into her meal a month later.

The Volkov crime syndicate has dealings in arms trading, money laundering, rampant extortion and blackmail, and most notably, contract killings and mercenaries for hire. The Volkovs are one of the most powerful crime families in Manhattan.

She intersperses her English with a lot of Russian sayings and exclamations. It’s a habit from when she was surrounded by people who speak both languages.

She has an intense phobia of heights, which doesn’t always work well with her line of work.

6) If your OC is in a fantasy setting, what profession would they be in the modern day?

Honestly I have no idea. My first instinct is to say like a florist or barista but idk if that’s fully her vibe. Maybe like a journalist or an athlete (as in equestrian or figure skating). I’ll have to think about this one.

8) What hobbies does your OC have? What do they do to unwind?

Nadya has lots of hobbies! She does needlework, sewing (she sometimes makes her own clothing), takes High Valyrian lessons, goes on horseback riding, trains ravens (it’s a family thing), and sword training!

11) What was your inspiration for your OC?

Myself! I just wanted to make a self-insert for Game of Thrones Bc that’s what I do when I find some type of media that I love, and she became the Nadya we know and love today!

17) If your OC has kids, are they a good parent? Do they ever feel guilty if they have to leave them?

Nadya is the best parent actually. She loves her children more than life itself and will do, and has done, anything to protect them. Her children all grow up to be wonderful, well-rounded people, so hopefully that speaks to her parenting skills.

One of the greatest pains she ever experienced was sending her twins, Ren and Lena, away to ward with the Tyrells to keep them safe while they were still infants. She nearly killed Jaime when she thought they were dead after the Sack of King’s Landing (but they were not and thankfully he told her that).

(I need to see her and Darren as parents actually. Should we make Nadya x Darren kids perhaps?🤭)

This was surprisingly easy because it's a bunch of self-hate from Abigail's point of view. The feeling of abandonment and then feeling guilty about said feeling is pretty on brand for her post purple wedding lol. But seriously if you're down to make this a thing I am too. I'm loving this.

Abigail felt the weight of abandonment, though she knew she was not truly forsaken. Her father’s escape, his relentless evasion of her emissaries, and Nadya, of all others' abrupt departure gnawed at her spirit, even after all of these years. These wounds worsened the grief of Joffrey’s death, and the treachery of her grandfather and Cersei. She had Tommen, their children, and even Griff, yet it was the very presence of these loved ones that made her feel guilty for her sense of abandonment. As she lay beside Daenerys, her thumb gently caressing the back of the other queen's hand, Abigail found no solace in sleep. Daenerys had succumbed to slumber hours ago, but Abigail’s mind was restless. She rose quietly and walked to the open balcony. The city of Meereen lay before her, its lights sparse against the backdrop of stars. She glanced back at Daenerys, cursing herself in silence. Sitting against the banister, she hugged herself tightly, her nails digging into her skin as she took a deep, shuddering breath. She was selfish. She knew she was. She had almost everyone back now, there was no impending war, she was chosen by the people to rule the seven kingdoms-- but still, she felt so selfish. Selfish and abandoned.
