hi! I’m alex. this started as an elder scrolls blog and kind of just developed into a general video games + oc stuff blog, but I’m too attached to my url to change it. I post about various games depending on the day.

it’s honestly kind of weird how immediately chill kaidan is with the player being a werewolf, considering his reaction to vampires(and hagravens, and anything else he considers to be unnatural or magical) and the fact that it’s daedric in nature

especially given the very real possibility they have little control over their transformations, as in nalorn’s case. like, “going feral and killing innocent people because of an uncontrollable bloodlust makes you a monster, but if my friend/spouse does it it’s fine”

the dragonborn dlc more or less confirming that werewolves can detect each other in human form by scent gives me some ideas for a potential nalorn follower

he could comment on it when the player meets them, and/or have a conversation that only triggers if they’re also a werewolf where how they feel about their lycanthropy will affect his opinion of them. he’ll automatically be more understanding of a ldb who became a werewolf by way of infection than one who did by choice, for example. skyrim has really little in the way of roleplay options for werewolves and I think it’d be neat to cater to that

thank you for the ask! and thanks for labelling(?) the emojis. since there was no oc specified I’m gonna go with nalorn as per the usual

answers under the cut:

🌏 EARTH - will they give up the world for someone they love? is this decision easy for them?

maybe he wouldn’t enjoy it—he’d always have that little voice at the back of his mind telling him how selfish and irrational it is—but he totally would. nalorn has a “me and my people first” mindset. to him, the people he loves make the world worth living in. at the end of the day, he’d screw over everyone else for the sake of his loved ones—even if they hate him for it afterward.

🙉 HEAR-NO-EVIL - what is the worst thing your oc could hear from someone?

wow, I had to think about this one for a sec. he’s almost always mentally preparing himself for the worst, so that would be kind of difficult.

nal always expects people in his life to leave eventually. when he meets someone new, it’s under the notion they’ll go their separate ways in the future; when he comes to trust someone, he silently dreads what he doesn’t want to believe but sees as inevitable. so hearing a person he loves and respects say they no longer want to be around him would cut deep. even if it’s only suggested—at least to his mind—he’ll be losing sleep over it for a long time.

🍀 CLOVER - do they believe in luck? are they lucky?

nalorn does believe in luck. although he tries to make his own way, there are some forces that are just out of his control. he no longer believes his luck to be particularly good or bad—despite everything that’s happened to him, he wouldn’t survive as a thief if luck was never on his side—but he can’t deny that his luck is strange. his life is a long chain of near misses and freak accidents—impossible wins and spectacular failures. he’s lucky to still be alive. perhaps it’s what always drives him to prepare in advance for every possible outcome. not that he ever truly knows what to expect.

🍩 DONUT - favourite sweet treat?

it’s no secret by now that nal has a sweet tooth. he likes baked sweets especially, but if he had to choose, anything with snowberries (like in a pie) would be his favourite. he can’t cook especially well, but one day once he has settled down he might like to learn how to bake.

Beauty: How does your character tend to their appearance? Do they wear any special armor or clothing during their day to day activities?

nalorn does keep good hygiene. almost obsessively, actually. he tries to limit the effects his lycanthropy has on his life as much as possible, and dealing with the wet dog smell or anything along those lines is part of that. but otherwise, he isn’t too fussed about his appearance. fancy clothes or armour don’t mean much to him.

Kindness: Does your muse donate to any temples or help any beggars?

while he doesn’t really have faith in the temples, he’ll help out beggars when he’s able. he recognizes he’s at least able to work (“work”), and from his own experience he figures they wouldn’t be in that position if they could help it.

Vows: Is your muse married? If not, what would it take for them to finally don an amulet of Mara?

he’s in a relationship with kai, but it’s a loooong time before they’re married. nal isn’t really the type to jump into things like that. besides, while he can appreciate the ceremony is important to most people for symbolic purposes, he doesn’t feel the need to “officially” tie the knot to be committed to someone.

also, since I consider the amulet of mara thing in kaidan’s romance to be a limitation of game mechanics rather than something critical to the story, I think I’m good to say nalorn would rather DIE than go out wearing one. I’m retconning it. it never happened.
