РЕЦЕНЗИИ Forced Entry - 1989 - Uncertain Future автор IJzerklompje Сиэтл является не самой яркой звездой на небосклоне американской трешевой звёздной карты, но свои немногочисленные недурные преставители были и там. Bitter End со своим "примегадэтованным" звучанием достаточно известны, но в целом их альбом вряд ли можно назвать чем-то берущим за душу. Большого интереса он не вызвал и не вызывает. Вот Forced Entry - группа уже другого кроя, в ней есть куда больше оригинальности. "Uncertain Future" вышел уже в 1989 году, когда рецессия жанра ещё не началась - более коммерчески успешные в будущем земляки из Nirvana и Alice in Chains лишь собирались с силами, а дэт-метал как независимая сцена только-только выказывал претензии на общий металлический пирог. Вполне удачное время, чтобы издать качественную музыку, у которой будет слушатель. В целом, по качеству претензий нет - хорошие пьески, таксономически очень близкие, не длинные и не короткие - при этом каждая обладает достаточным количеством разнообразных мелких ходов. К примеру, цикличный фрагмент, составляющий основу трека "Octoclops" или слегка усиленная бас-бочка, звучащая как скачущая лошадь, в "Anaconda". Вокалист Трой Бенджаменс напоминает одновременно Чака Билли из Testament и Рона Райнхарта из Dark Angel. Манера пения достаточно приятная, хоть и не такая уникальная. Колин Мэттсон на барабанах играет неброско, но звук барабанов в миксе какой-то слишком громкий, словно в нём что-то лишнее. Будто бы этим Рик Парашар (известный в первую очередь работой над дебютником ещё одних... сиэлтцев? сиэтлян? Короче, Pearl Jam) хотел нивелировать отсутствие басовых частот, которые ушли на замену отсутствующей второй гитары. А вот гитара, которая неплохо справляется с почти техничными пассажами, выдаёт, казалось бы, обыкновенные соло на клине - правда, ещё за полтора года до того, как в моду их введёт Даймбэг Даррелл. Отметить стоит, что к гитаристу Брэдли Халлу (не путать с Брэдли Холлом) название альбома "Туманное будущее" не относится. Сейчас Брэд сидит в тюрьме за сбыт наркотиков и освободится не раньше 2039 года. Жаль что ещё один музыкант выбрал кривую дорожку. Кроме выше указанных хитов, стоит отметить "Unrest They Find" и "Foreign Policy" как те, где стоит заострить внимание. Данная пластинка, несмотря на не самый образцовый в моём понимании звук, является качественной и для любителей треш-метала нет причин обходить "Uncertain Future" стороной. Следом последовал "As Above, So Below", который хвалят, но для меня он остался по большей части непонятым. В 2020 году группа планировала реюнион, но по очевидным впоследствии причинам затея провалилась. автор IJzerklompje

And what I expected to used was making four legs into a tentacle and also what I did last was sketched out of what my own monster would actually look like when it’s was fully finished

pit people unit idea: Yeti Mage

Appearance: a yeti wearing a tattered robe and a wizard hat wielding a staff. the robes and hat are customizable.

role: i noticed that there is no unit that does ice damage, its only possible by giving a unit an ice weapon, this aims to resolve that. They are a mainly ranged fighter similar to an electrobot, they attach at a distance but can also use a melee attack at close range. they move three tiles per turn and take up one slot.

attacks: when anywhere between 1-3 tiles away from a target,  the yeti will unleash its ice magic. icicles will erupt from the ground in a straight line for four tiles. these do ice damage to anyone in their path and have a chance to freeze them. these also launch the unit straight up and back onto the tile they were standing on, if it is on fire or have any other hazard on the tile, they will take additional damage from it on landing. if the line of attack runs into an obstacle, the icicles will not travel any further. they can also fight with a melee attack by bashing the enemy with their staff, which acts like a mallet and does decent damage.

pros/cons: due to their master of magic, they are immune to being debuffed or mind controlled by a wraith or octoclops (but they are still damaged by it) and due to their yeti nature, they cannot be frozen and take less damage from ice attacks. However: their magical ways dont fare well with technology. electrical damage is their bane. bring an electrobot if you need to take one down. Not to mention their health leaves something to be desired.

Hopefully I don't sound like the nerd emoji. To answer your question about kallamar having chromataphores yes he would, almost all cephalopods do except for nautiluses and vampire squid. Most squid are just not very good at it due to living in shallow water.

my persona is an octoclops, we 100% stan cephalo-facts here!

the idea that kallamar would be even pathetic in that realm is funny too

though a while back I used the idea of chromatophores with an old splatoon piece to do yakuza style tattoos, I was pondering maybe using it in the same way again
