#10. What's an au you have for them?

Since them meeting at all is technically an AU i have 3 different ways that they do meet up. There's the one where Juniper ends up with the agency/adjacent to and ends up working with Reggie (have written a fic with this). The next one is Juniper surviving but basically going stealth and living as normal of a life as he can and ending up meeting Reggie through chance (most recent fic I've written). And then there's my personal favourite where Reginald "You're lucky my tracking skills are still up to snuff" Crane keeping himself busy after Phoenix was MIA and finding Juniper still alive (fic I want to write but haven't started mainly because it may end up multi chapter).

In terms of more AU canon bending taking them and putting them in a completely unrelated situation...I have a guilty pleasure Warrior Cats AU for IEYTD in general. Both JJ and Reggie have perfect warrior cats suffixes in their names already (Juniper and Crane) so they're called Junipersong (charcoal bengal) and Craneflight (tabby Norwegian forest cat). It's very silly but the amount of scenes I have in my mind for it...good lord...

#11. How was their first kiss like?

Augh my friend Imp wrote an absolutely excellent fic about it (tragically in the realm of unfinished Google docs) and I'm shaking their hand about it so hard. Basically Juniper kissing Reggie but he like wasn't ready/fully expecting it and Juniper absolutely panicking because he thinks he's misread every interaction between them both since they got closer. The second one is much sweeter though,,

the absolute angst of touch-averse pomni x ragatha w/ a physical touch love language.

#they’d be SO concerned about one another #like Pomni would be so upset about not being comfortable fulfilling this need for ragatha #and like Ragatha would probably instinctively go in to show her love through hugs/holding hands/resting on her/etc #only to remember it actually makes Pomni uncomfortable #but when she doesn’t remember in time oof does she feel terrible about it #ragatha would find other ways to show her love for sure #I think pomni would be a quality time person #oh she’d love the shit out of some parallel play #I think in terms of the receiving end of love languages ragatha really appreciates acts of service and pomni notices that ASAP #but no matter the workarounds there’s still inevitably this aversion and desire for touch in between the two #touch averse and touch starved if you will #I think with a lot of time and trust pomni would eventually be comfortable with ragatha doing it #but the absolute angst of building that trust #of ragatha growing more comfortable around her and accidentally crossing that boundary #and it’s so unintentional and short that you can’t really be mad #but they’re both SO torn up about it and how it affects one another man #their absolute girl failures failing their way upwards in this relationship tbh #if you actually read all of that hi talk to me about ragapom

day of the dead (1985) might be my new favorite horror movie

#might slightly beat out the thing (1982)#great writing acting practical effects and it's actually pretty scary!#nobody does zombies like romero im telling you #i neeeeed to watch the original dawn of the dead #i've seen night of the living dead i've seen day of the dead and i've seen the dawn of the dead remake #which was actually pretty good even though im not a big snyder fan #night of the living dead is one of the movies that made me deathly afraid of zombies as a kid #and i only watched the first 5 minutes akdhkdh #i've seen the whole thing now of course #they're zombie movies where the real bad guy always ends up being power-tripping militarized assholes #day of the dead being that case the most #spoilers >>>>#every other zombie movie totally gives up on the zombies outside of a medical cure or vaccine #day of the dead explicitly goes no. they can be redeemed. they can be retaught. they can remember.#the only reason it all gets fucked up is because of that MOTHERFUCKER #oh but he gets his. it's too late but he gets his #never thought a zombie shooting a guy with a gun would be the most satisfying cinematic climax ever but guess what.#it was #and then that fucker gets torn apart while he's still alive and it's looks so fucking cool because the practical effects in that movie rule #oh man and the ENDING. im still thinking about the ending #it's so.... it's so abrupt and jarring and contradictory that you can't help but question it #it feels almost... delusional? in denial?#they're running to the copter and there's a wave of zombies and it's hard to tell if they can make it there fast enough #they're getting in and at the last second the girl gets grabbed #but hardly before you can even process that...#snap cut. the three of them are on a beach. no zombies in sight. she marks off a date on a homemade calendar #it feels impossibly idealic... like the movie can't bear to give you an unhappy ending so instead it lies #it's not impossible they made it out. they could've gotten the zombie off her and made it out #but the way it's structured makes it so ambiguous

January 2023 Hiatus!

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! So sorry, I wasn’t planning an art halt. A job application from last year FINALLY contacted me. Interview next week, waiting to see if it’s another long time I hear the results, catching up and prepping my current job in case I do get this job, etc. I had to put a halt on my art and Japanese studies for now. I MAY post doodles and sketches, but nothing serious to concentrate on this stuff. So sorry to @recklesslycaffeinated, @monomori3, and that inspiring anon all still waiting on my sketch requests. I still feel bad I keep pushing all of yours even further back. I really want to make sure all yours are of similar quality to the other requests I finished prior. I don’t want to undercut yours to simpler sketches just to get them done. Thanks everyone for understanding and hopefully will resume sooner, not later than Jan. Who knows though.
