Except for the slightly notorious musculature in your body , you were pretty average at first sight , so yeah , you were someone new in town , but that's it

Until you get inside the classroom ( the same as Finney ) and tried to talk with the teacher about your situation since you wouldn't be able to be as participating as you wish since you can't speak English yet

Everybody started to laugh and mock your poor attempts , the teacher sushed the giggles down and explain that you're a foreigner but you're still understand everyone's words

You appreciated the gesture , but the damage was already done , now everyone's side eye and mean starting was even worse than before , and it's not like you can talk back either ...

He felt bad for you , and since his table was the only left to sit on , you were his new desk mate now

So he invited you to sit on his table , be on his team on P.E classes ( where your teacher jokingly told Bruce to watch out for the competition , although he understood this as a " This kid can be better than you " because of your body than " you have watch out for any other trying to steal them from you " way ) , go to his games , community reunions , etc

You liked his social and outgoing nature and appreciated his invitations and including in his group of friends , but you felt like a fish out of the water , you couldn't talk that much and you only listened and responded one or two questions that they had about you

It's already obvious , or at least for the majority , that you being one of Robin's best friend crush makes you , even without you noticing it , untouchable , and whoever dares to touch you , would be in less than a week with a serious injury on their faces for testing your kindness and Robin's patience . Thanks to his job he knows almost everyone in the neighborhood or at least recognizes their faces ( this last thing is the most common one )

Coming back home after finishing his route he saw you carrying a bag of groceries , he didn't recognize you , but didn't give it that much of attention until you fell down to the ground for tripping over a tiny little rock

He stopped his bike and ran in your direction to help , he tried to put back all the groceries but Harper started to lick them off while barking when she got scolded for it

Once you got inside waving your hand , he couldn't help to hop on his bike again and ride as fast as he could to his home and tell his family about you , he met a strong and cute foreigner for the first time today !

The times that he encounter you , now in a much calmer way , he would try to get to know you and your culture , so slowly you two got a cultural exchange , he inviting to his house and 4th of July festivals , carnavals , thanksgiving , you get it

And since he was nice to you and didn't mind you or your inability to speak English , with time he started to go to your house as well , your family jokingly making you embarrassed by saying you didn't waste time on finding a boyfriend

So in general , don't be afraid to be yourself around him , he would love to show you how great America is , and it's ok if you don't want to try everything that he says , as long as you still being friends with him , he's satisfied

"I'm gonna kill him." Declares Vance. Glaring at the phone still in Argyle's hand as he happily talked to Robin...His cousin.

"No your not." Says Finney, firmly the two have a staring contest for a few seconds before Vance huffs and looks away.

"Fine."

"I am going to give him the silent treatment though." Added Finney, Vance's glare melted into an amused smirk.

"He's gonna wish you let me kill him." Nods Vance to himself. If there was one person Robin loved to talk to, it was Finney.

"Eh he'll get over it. That's what he gets for not telling me he had family here." Says Finney though there's a devious smile on his face.

"Times like this I see how you and Gwen are related." Says Vance.

"Who's Gwen?" Asks Dustin, eyes sharp like a hawk. "My little sister." Answers Finney with a small smile. "You have a sister?" Asks Max, looking sad.

Finney smiles warmly at her, silently conveying that doesn't mean she isn't one to him.

"I dunno about sister, maybe escaped demon." Says Vance, Max grins deviously "oh?" Vance looks at her, hands out like he's taking a photo.

"Don't tell me she has a twin."

Finney chuckles "honestly, if Gwen was a red head they'd be almost like twins."

Vance looks Max up and down "You ever throw a rock at a guys head and call him a dumb fucking fart knocker?"

Max looked him up and down with a grin "not yet." Vance nods, approvingly. "Oh yeah she's definitely Gwen's long lost twin."

"What is with the Harrington family and violent tendancies?" Asks Eddie, Vance shrugs helplessly. "Beats me, their like natural born scrappers."

Finney swats him with a pointed look.

"You of all people do not get to say I have violent tenancies when the first time I met you you were being escorted by the police out of Grab and Go."

Everyone looks at Vance in suprise.

"Oh? Do share with the class" Says Eddie, looking between Finney and Vance with glee.

Luckily for Vance, Hopper who had left to go help Joyce with the dishes, reappeared.

"Jane, Vance we're heading out."

El huffs, getting her stuff and saying her goodbyes. "Guess you'll have to wait." Says Vance to Eddie who sighs wistfully.

Finney hugs Vance close.

"See you tomorrow."

He felt his breathing pick up and pulled out a comic from his bag though he was having trouble concentrating on it.

Before he knew it the car started and the Byers house had faded behind them.

"hey, come back!" he ran after tsum violet and managed to catch it pretty easily. he held it as tight as he could, he didn't want this to happen again. "come on, i'm not that scary! i won't hurt you or anything like that.."

tsum violet wasn't happy about this and it still tried to break free, but it was much harder this time. vance really was stronger than he looked.

"hm.. i wonder why you look so much like violet-san?" he looked at it more closely. "wait a second, violet-san, is this YOU??"

vance shook tsum violet really hard, like he was trying to make it answer his question. again, tsum violet did NOT like it.

"violet-san, if it really is you, please give me a sign!" vance looked like he was close to crying. "maybe i should show you to others? i don't think i'll be able to help you.."

tsum violet noticed vance's face expression change.

"haha, of course, i can't help you. it would be weird for someone like me to be capable of that. sure, i like to say that i'm a "vice dorm leader number two", but no one believes that."

but vance still forced himself to smile and shook his head.

Eleventh Day of Twelve - A Tired but Treasured Day

You walked into the office clinging to your cup of coffee. It felt like you were just here and you were, only five hours ago. This time however it was your own doing. You'd found a tiny shred of evidence to go on and had to follow it before the trail went cold. Then it lead to Gibbs and Nick finding the killer in a warehouse in town and bringing him in at just after 0100. You didn't finish interrogating until 0200 and it was now 0730. Coffee, coffee needed to be pumped into you to wake up this morning and a constant flow throughout the day would be required.

To your delight there was a hot cup sitting on your desk as you walked into the bullpen. No note so you assumed this time it wasn't from your gift giver. Day 11 and no one had spilled the beans or gone looking at the cameras like they wanted to on day one.

"Gibbs dropped it off about five minutes ago before he went down to get a report from Kasie who wasn't pleased to be called in so early." Ellie explained while leaning back in her chair and sipping her coffee. "He brought one for all of us."

"Christmas miracles do happen." Nick grinned, dropping his small cup in the trash. "Done."

"It's not a race. You just slugged all your energy for the next three hours."

"Oh please, I've stayed up later and come to work more tired before. Remember the November incident." He waved off.

"I still feel hungover from it." Ellie grumbled, scrunching her nose at the memory of Tequila.

"Please don't remind me." Tim groaned. "Plus I'm not allowed anymore Tequila, Delilah's orders."

"She may be on to something." You ran your hand through your hair, smirking at the banter. Turning on your computer for the day, you saw the next gift hanging from your desk lamp. It was beautiful, a little teddy bear carved out of marble with a shimmering purple and green crown sitting on its head.

"Day 11, the gift giver strikes again." You rolled your eyes at Nick's words while holding the Christmas decoration in your hand, running your thumb over the intricate detail.

It was sweet, a cute addition to your small Christmas tree at home. You'd put it up on December one. That was your tradition and some years it didn't seem worth it but you made the effort. Being alone on Christmas sucked, there was no way around it but this year you were making an effort to not sulk about it. The secret gift giver certainly lifted the spirit as well.

Your tree wasn't over the top but a nice addition to your home. This would fit perfectly front and centre and you made sure of it.

The day was relatively easy. The office banter keeping the spirits going with a good supply of caffeine. It was really just a lot of paper work and then you were set free around mid afternoon to try and have that weekend off. This time Vance made sure the team wouldn't be called in. There were other agents to take the call after all.

You'd missed Jack most of the day and didn't want to interrupt her as she was head deep in evals for the end of year. Instead you decided to shoot her a text when you got home.

- Just wanted to say have a good weekend. Didn't want to interrupt your head mojo.

You knew she'd get a kick out of it and you weren't mistaken.

- Head mojo hey? Smarty in the evening just like you said. Missed you today, didn't realise how many evals I still had to do before I went on my trip. Now I'm back logged and still at work.

It was just hitting 1830 which was a late one for Jack on a Friday. She was always hurrying along at the end of the week to make sure by the time 1700 hit she was out the door.

- I hope you are either finishing for the evening or planning on having dinner while you work. It's getting late, Jack.

- No need to worry about little old me. I need to get these done, I'll grab a bite later. Enjoy your night.

An idea popped to mind, you grabbed your coat and car keys and headed back out into the snowfall with your blue scarf still wrapped around your neck.

Thankfully, you weren't too far from the Navy yard and the Diner was just a five minute detour on the route. You called ahead so the food was ready when you got there and still warm when you knocked on her door.

"Come in, y/n."

You huffed, opening the door. "Now how could you possibly know it was me?"

Jack was sitting on her couch, shoes off, legs crossed and glasses tugging her hair back and sitting on her head. "You didn't reply, you always reply. And you care too much." She got up, placing her laptop on the coffee table and walking up to you.

Those were a lot of compliments you weren't entirely prepared for. You thought Jack was the one that cared a lot, but never too much. "I think I care just the right amount but I can eat this all by myself if you'd prefer?" You smirked, pretending to walk back out but Jack caught your arm.

"I didn't mean it like that. I lo-ike that you care so much." She ran her hand up and down your arm a few times before dropping it away. Her warm comforting smile turned into a cute frown. "And don't you dare walk out on me now that youve made all this effort to come here." She took a deep breath in. "Is that two cheeseburgers and fries?"

The frown and the way her nose twitched at the smell was completely adorable. "With a side of gravy. Wasn't sure if you liked it on your fries or not." You shrugged, missing the soft and loving look Jack gave, you walked past her and sat at one end of the couch, unpacking the bag of food. "Come, sit." You urged, patting the spot beside you as she just stood there and watched.

With a soft smile curving her lips, she came around after a beat and sat exactly where you said to. She took the small pot of gravy and poured it over her fries before pouring the rest over yours. "Thank you."

You bumped her shoulder lightly. "Anytime. Can't have Jack Sloane Hangry and loose in DC." That got you a slap on the knee but it was worth it as her hand soothed the spot she hit and stayed there for a while until it was time to eat.

"Didn't mean to ruin your Friday night plans either." She took a huge bite of the burger.

Between bites you managed an answer, "You mean my big watching The Holiday movie while eating a cup of noodles or the one where I go to sleep at 7pm because im living on about four hours sleep right now."

Skipping over how tired you were she jumped at the mention of the movie. "That's my favourite Christmas movie! It's got the best of both worlds! The sun of LA and the cold winter wonderland of the UK. God, I haven't watched that in years! My mum and I went to the movies to watch it and then every Christmas after we'd watch it together, some people had Love Actually, we had The Holiday. Guess I stopped watching when mum passed." She ate a few more fries. "Wow, Jack, way to ruin the good mood. Sorry. Got lost for a moment there."

You liked it when she rambled. She always would say so many interesting things and you just loved to hear her voice. You prayed the day never came when you wouldn't hear it anymore. "Don't apologize-" You held up your hand to stop her from butting in. "- And, no it's not because of Gibbs silly rule. I enjoy hearing about your past about things you love or did. The Holiday is a sweet movie, my must watch in December along with The Grinch, Home Alone and many more. I try my best to keep the holiday spirits up when I'm by myself for them which has been the last many."

"I enjoy hearing you talk too." She smiled, taking a massive bite of her burger and filling up her cheeks.

There was no silence after that. The evals were put to the side and you talked for what seemed like hours. Talking about childhood Christmas' and silly stories to cringe worthy dating moments over this time of year. It wasn't until you couldn't keep your mouth shut from yawning that you said good night around 2300.

"Sorry you didn't get your evals done." You sing over the roof of your car as Jack unlocked her Mini.

"Don't be. I'm happy to come in tomorrow because tonight was fun!" Her genuine smile told you that she wasn't lying. You could read people pretty well and most times Jack Sloane was an enigma to you but right now you knew she was telling the truth.

"Good night, Jack."

She opened her car door before adding. "Enjoy your movie!"

You yawned with a laugh. "You're kidding right? I'm going to sleep, I'll watch it tomorrow now."

"Fair, good night y/n. Sweet Dreams!"

Who doesn't want this to end? Me. But I also maybe, slightly want a break from writing every day. It's been fun but tiring. I've enjoyed it a lot though! I love this time of year, if only I wasn't working in retail.

Okay, just the general vibe of this song is that of a person who's been through a bit and has now found a love so beautiful it's helping them heal and I feel like that ties in so well with Cherry and Joe's entire arc. I hear this song in Cherry's POV when Joe's affection is starting to restore his faith in love and life after Adam's done fucked it all up. Or even when his anxiety gets really fucking bad or whatever. It's just got big comfort vibes and I am a total whore for Cherry acknowledging and appreciating everything that Joe does for him.

Okay I think this song fits Cherry very well, especially when he is still trying to understand his dynamic with Joe. My personal headcanon is that Cherry is prone to bouts of self-hatred because of his anxiety and consequently, doesn't always consider himself deserving of Joe's love, and so, he tends to dislike it at times when Joe seems to understand him better than others and anticipate his needs so well, and I feel like this song depicts that beautifully.

It happens after Joe has freshly realised that he is bi after all and Kaoru is exactly what he needs. Again, verse one reminds me of Joe, verse two of Cherry. They are down under respectively.

Another Kojiro song. This one reflects his inner struggle as he feels torn between wanting to comfort and protect Cherry after Adam, and the fact that he is hopelessly in love with Cherry who inadvertently keeps hurting him with how he is lost in the huge web of feelings he can't parse through, not completely blind to how much Kojiro loves him but not fully realising it either. This song reminds me of a confused and helpless Kojiro. Loving Kaoru is such an integral part of him that it makes him, him and it is his constant in the rapidly changing world around him as he stands on the brink of adulthood. He is very nearly ready to beg for mercy and yet knows he, himself is saved by the love he has for Kaoru.

avery: he would need some time to think about it, when his partner asks him about having children. he's just.. not sure if he would be a good dad. what if his kids end up getting some of his not the best qualities? but eventually he would agree to have children, not too many though, one or two is enough.

vance: he likes children! they're cool! but having his own children? vance is not so sure about it. yes, vance would become a much more mature person when he grows up (third year vance is one of my fave concepts) but he still doesn't think that he would be a good parent. he also feels like he will get his freedom taken away from him again if he ever has his own children. so yeah, maybe he would have a child eventually, but only one.

merrill: again, another character that isn't sure about having children. he never could see himself as a dad and he never thought about having kids. and he also doesn't understand why he even should have any. but if his s/o really wants to have children and if they tell him that he's definitely gonna be a great dad, he will think about it. he would have kids, most likely one or two, like avery.

allen: THIS GUY. HE WOULD BE SO HAPPY WHEN HIS S/O SAYS THAT THEY WANT TO HAVE CHILDREN. would be so excited!! he can't wait to start a family with them!! he also would dream about having kids with his crush when he was younger. also definitely the type to give those imaginary kids names. would love to have at least three children, but if his s/o doesn't want to have many kids, he's totally fine with it.

roland: avery, vance and merrill need to step aside, because this guy has it so, SO MUCH WORSE than them. he wasn't sure that he can be a good boyfriend, and now his partner thinks he's gonna be a good father? why do they think that kids are going to love him? what if he accidentally hurts them or he will end up being a bad influence? if his s/o calms him down and reassures him that everything is gonna be fine and they believe in him, he will agree to have children, but would prefer to have only one or two.

jay: fake! jay would love to have kids! would also be a bit worried, understandably so. would he be a good dad? is his partner sure that they want to do this? but eventually he calms down and he would have two or three kids. real! jay on the other hand BECOMES A SOBBING MESS when his partner starts talking about kids. they.. they really want to start a family with him? they really think he deserves to become a father? are they sure? are they 100% sure? but he would have a child, most likely only one, but it would be enough for him and he would give them all the love they deserve.

austin: says something like "i'll have to think about it" but he's actually VERY excited. he loves kids and he'd love to start a family with his s/o! but he also wants to keep calm and pretend that he hasn't been waiting for this moment since he and his s/o got married. would have three or more kids.

🖍️ "what was their favorite thing to do in school as a kid?"

avery: hang out with that old friend of his. well, before he got betrayed by him. after that, probably nothing.

vance: run in the hallways, draw silly pictures on the blackboard, prank his teachers!

merrill: play with other kids. school was the only place where parents didn't see him do it and they couldn't stop him and tell him that "he'll get dirty" or "his hair will become a mess"

allen: he was homeschooled before he started going to rsa, so.. yeah, nothing.

roland: bullying other kids. yeah, he wasn't the nicest child back then.

jay: fake! jay didn't exist back then, so i'll answer for the real! jay. the real! jay liked to hide in the enclosed spaces and nap during classes. he didn't like when teachers caught him doing it though.

austin: oh boy, did this guy LOVE science fairs.

💔 "what would break their heart? what’s the worst thing a significant other or a close friend could do to them?"

avery: tell him that they don't accept him and that he's weak and pathetic. they wanted someone more assertive, someone more confident as their friend/partner and avery isn't like that at all. he really is just all talk, isn't he?

vance: tell him that he's always gonna be just a silly, childish boy in their eyes who can't do anything by himself. treat him like a child and not take him seriously. also refuse to play along with his "game talk" and remind him that this world is real.

merrill: tell him that he's disgusting and gross after they see his account. also call him an attention seeker.

allen: simple, they just need to push him away, like all other people do. ghost him, forget about him, ignore him or just straight up say that they don't like him and don't want to talk to him anymore. we don't talk about the consequences that will follow though.

roland: similar to avery, refuse to accept him and his past, tell him that he's always gonna be this horrible person that abused and manipulated his ex. no matter how hard he tries to change, he won't be successful. he may try to change, but his past will never change.

jay: oh, you want to break the poor fake! jay's heart? you just need to tell him that you don't want to do anything with him once you find out that he's just a creation of real! jay. he has human skin, he has human eyes, everything about him looks and feels human, but he's actually not human. and you feel disgusted even when you just stand next to him. if you want to break the real! jay's heart, stop paying attention to him and start ignoring him and treating him harshly. tell him how pathetic, dumb and slow he is.

austin: tell him that the only thing he's good at is technology and dealing with it, he would be useless if he didn't know anything about it. that would be his worst nightmare, being trapped in this cage of expectations and not being able to try anything different for a change.

💞 "do they have a best friend? what’s their relationship like?"

avery: if we're not talking about his childhood friend, then his best friend would most likely be epel. both of them are very similar and they got along almost instantly. avery trusts him and feels like he can talk about anything with him.

vance: his best friend? oh, if we're not counting bobbie, then it would probably be trey! vance really likes him and he often helps him out with baking and other stuff. he is a "second vice dorm leader" after all! we don't talk about vance's overblot though.

merrill: his cousin iris. they're very close and though merrill likes to tease her, he really enjoys her company and appreciates her being around.

allen: wouldn't you like to know.

roland: he thinks that all gardening club members are his friends, but if he had to choose the closest friend, it would be lilia. lilia doesn't judge him for his past and he admires roland's wish to change. lilia also said to him that even though roland's past won't change, it exists so that he can learn from it and become a better person. and again, roland's eyepatch is a gift from him.
