Tumblr media
You walk into the doors of Abbott all excited. You’ve been subbing for a year now, mostly at Addington Elementary, the charter school down the street. Now you’re Abbott Elementary’s new art teacher. You check in at the office and get your classroom key and badge with the photo from the interview a week ago.
“Alright newbie, you’re here. Follow me to the teacher’s lounge and I’ll introduce you to the ones that I tolerate here.” Ava pipes up from behind you and you follow her there.
You both walk in and 8 sets of eyes fall on you two. 3 from a corner in the back, 3 from a table near the window and 2 from a table near the fridge.
“Newbie this is where you introduce yourself.” Ava tells you as you were shocked with the sudden spotlight on you.
“Oh right, hi y’all my name is Y/n Y/l/n. I’m the new art teacher here.” You introduce yourself, your southern accent visible. Two teachers come bouncing over to you and talking a mile a minute. The things you got were Janine Teagues, second grade teacher as well as Jacob Hill, 8th grade teacher. The rest you didn’t catch at all as it was a lot before 8am.
“Janine dear, why don’t you and Jacob give her some room, she just got here.” One of the women from the table near the fridge says. “Hello dear, I’m Barbara Howard, kindergarten teacher.” She says gently as Janine and Jacob go to sit down. Barb then softly nudges the woman next to her and gets a weird look from the ginger. You have to admit that this nameless ginger is very attractive. “You should introduce yourself.” Barb tells her and she sighs.
“But she’s from the south, for all we know she can be a cowboys fan.” She says to Barb.
“The girl from south is right here and can hear you. And are you talking about the Dallas Cowboys?” You ask and she quirks an eyebrow at you.
“So youse a fan?” She asks and crosses her arms.
“Of the cowboys, no. Never really been a fan until I got here to be honest. It was all the rage when I got here so I looked into it, the Eagles aren’t bad of a team.” You tell her and you see the slightest smile on her face.
“I’m Melissa Schemmenti, 2nd grade teacher.” She introduces herself and you freeze.
“Schemmenti? Why does that name sound familiar?” You say and she sighs.
“Have you been to Addington?” She asks and you nod.
“Quite a bit actually.”
“You might have met my sister Kristen Marie there then.” She says and you widen your eyes.
“Of course, I do know her. Her and I are texting buddies, we text about once a week. I honestly forgot about her last name.” You tell her and she shakes her head. “Wait you’re Melissa, she’s mentioned you a few times.” You add.
“All bad things I’m assuming, knowing my sister.” She says and you shake your head.
“No, not bad at all.” Mostly embarrassing things, but you ain’t mentioning that to her. “Well I’d love to stay and chat with y’all but I gotta skedaddle. Lots to do in just a week.” You tell them and then leave the room. Everyone turns to look at Melissa and while she doesn’t see it, she feels them all staring at her.
“What are all youse looking at?” Melissa says without turning to look at them.
“You gave your name so… willingly.” Janine says confused.
“You heard her, she doesn’t mind the Eagles, she seems alright.” Melissa says with barely a thought to the answer.
At the end of the day you go to turn into the teachers lounge to get your lunchbox, only to run into Melissa, physically run right into her.
“Oh I’m so sorry Melissa, you ok?” You tell her while you have your hands on her arms to stabilise her.
“Ya I’m fine kid, are you alright?” She asks you and you nod. You go to get your lunchbox from the fridge and when you go to leave, she’s still there, waiting for you.
“Should I be flattered that you’re waiting for me?” You joke with her and she chuckles.
“I think so. I mean, I’ve never done it for anyone else before.” She says and you smile.
“Well considered me flattered then.” You tell her and she smiles at you.
“Well let’s, what did you say earlier? Skedaddle?” She teases you and you laugh. You both start to walk to the parking lot.
“Why Melissa, I hope you’re not making fun of the language of the south.” You joke with her and she laughs.
“Wouldn’t dream of it southy.”
“Oh I get a nickname too? You’re too sweet.” You say and she playfully shoves your shoulder with hers.
You reach the parking lot and then you both walk to her car which was right next to yours.
“Well I guess I’ll see you tomorrow?” You ask her, not wanting this moment to end.
“Ya, you will kid.” She tells you with a smile then gets in her car.
2 months go by and it’s safe to say you’re settling in pretty well. You’ve gotten support from your coworkers and your students are loving your classes. There’s one specific coworker that stands out to you and that’s Melissa. You’ve found yourself admiring her a couple weeks now. Ever since you were able to watch her teach, you’ve been wanting to again. At lunch, she offered you a spot at her and Barb’s table, which apparently has never happened before, and you find yourself staring at her when she’s talking. When she comes to drop her kids off at your class, you make yourself more presentable before she gets there, you quickly brush your hair, reapply lip balm, just anything to make yourself look better for her. You got looks from people when she invited you over to her house for the first time and you loved every second of it. You’ve also gotten weird looks from Barb and the trio lately and you have no idea why, until Barb talks to you.
“Hello dear, can I come in?” She asks from your doorway and you look up from your sketchbook.
“Barb, hi. Ya of course.” You tell her and she smiles as she walks in and closes the door. “What’s up?” You ask as you put your pencil down and lean back in your chair to look at her.
“I’ll be blunt with you.” She starts and you tilt your head at her in question. “You have a crush on Melissa right?” She asks and you widen your eyes. “We all see it, you’re not good at hiding it.” She adds.
Well no use in trying to cover it up. “Oh god, does that mean that Melissa knows?”
You ask her and she shakes her head.
“No, Melissa won’t ever think that you’ll like her. The only way she’ll know is if you tell her.” She says and you sigh.
“Well that won’t ever happen?” You say and she tilts her head at you.
“Sweetheart, what reason can you have to not want to tell her?”
“Many reasons. About to start with the fact that she’s straight, she’s my friend, she’ll never be into me, she’s out of my league, and did I mention that she’s straight?” You say and she smiles at you.
“You did mention it. Dear, I have known Melissa a long time, and what I can tell you is that you’ve caught her eye. I’ve seen how she is when someone catches her interest and how she is with friends. She treats you differently then how she treats me and the rest of the Abbott crew, and everyone else she has ever befriended. What I’m saying is, I think if you told her about your feelings for her, you might be surprised of her answer.” Barb says and you look at her stunned.
“I’ll- I’ll think about it.” You tell her.
“I wouldn’t take too long, Gary has his sights on her too.” She tells you and you widen your eyes.
“The vending machine guy?” You ask and she nods.
“Well she might be better off with him.” You say casually.
“Why do you say that? Why wouldn’t she be happy with you?”
“Cause I’m me.” You tell her and then get back to your drawing. Barb walks up to you and puts her hand on your shoulder.
“Yes you’re you, and Melissa likes who you are.” Barb tells you and then leaves.
At the end of the day you finish cleaning up the art supplies, then you grab your stuff and leave and you bump into someone on the way out.
“Oh sorry hon.” Melissa tells you.
“Oh Melissa, hi.” You stutter. “Wha- what are you doing in this corner of the school?” You ask her, considering her classroom is on the other side of the school.
“I came here to see you.”
“Why?”
“I didn’t see you at lunch today, or barely at all today actually.” She says.
“Melissa, are you saying you missed me?” You tell her in a teasing tone.
“I did actually, if you must know.” She says and playfully shoves your shoulder. “Something happened at lunch actually.” She adds and you tilt your head to let her continue. “Gary asked me out.” She says and you stop breathing for a second and widen your eyes.
“Oh.” You say, you stayed in your classroom at lunch today going over what Barb told you before lunch. Now it seems you missed your chance.
“I turned him down.” She says and that snaps you out of your head.
“What? You said no?” You tell her and she nods her head. “Why?”
“Because I don’t want to go out with him. I’d rather go out with someone else.” She tells you and she takes a step towards you. You’re breathing quickens as you look into her emerald green eyes that captures you in them. Your faces are close together, as you’re the same height, it wouldn’t take much to lean forward and kiss her. You gulp as you realise she’s waiting for you to say something.
“And who is it that you’d rather go out with?” You ask and you glance down at her lips before looking into her eyes again.
“You.” Is all she says but it still leaves you breathless. You see her glance down at your lips briefly before looking into your e/c eyes. Without thinking, you lean forward and kiss her fiercely. She kisses you back with just as much force and she grabs the back of your head with both of her hands. You place your hands on her waist and press her up against the wall and you both continue kissing each other as if your lives depended on it.
“Should we stop them? I mean it is still school property.” Janine says as the trio, Barb, Ava and Gary are watching you two make out down the hall.
“I think we should let them enjoy today. Then if we catch them making out again, then we can stop them.” Barb says, glad you both finally took the chance. “And Gary, thanks for asking her out, I knew it would make Melissa finally admit her feelings.” Barb tells him and he nods at her.
“Glad I could help.” He says and they all leave.
You both pull back to catch your breath. Melissa giggles as you look at each other. “Did you kiss all the southern girls that told you they have feelings for you?” She asks with a smile.
“I never liked them back so no.” You tell her and she cups your cheek. You surge forward to capture her lips on yours again, never wanting to pull back.

would u ever write jy w/ a reader who was a part of the high cloud quintet? ig u would say sextet here (insert sex joke) but just curious!!!
i would, maybe. i have this idea of a very short fic bordering on less than 10 chapters if possible surrounding the idea, though.
like something to do with lan, how they pierced the sky, and you are a piece of it that holds the skies together for the xianzhou. something like that.
it would be unbridled angst because i can. this post is so fucking long sorry. i definitely don’t have problems…
i think what would hurt the most is that jingliu would’ve accepted you into the hcq had you been able to join them.
something something, you wanted to stay, but if you remained here, the sky wouldn’t be able to hold itself together anymore, and the stars would fall, and the xianzhou would perish. so, you return to the sky, and hold it together, because that’s what you are: a fragment of the stars.
you definitely knew them all.
yingxing crafted you a weapon on the basis that maybe if he finished it, you’d return. dan feng would be so so happy to see you again, with that pleasant little smile he always wore (and sometimes if he thinks it’s appropriate he’ll let you examine his tail).
you did not return. not in his lifetime, at least.
jingliu would’ve trained you in the art of the sword. not to the extent of jing yuan, but enough to put up a decent fight. so, if none of them were there to help you, at least you could help yourself.
baiheng would’ve been like the fun aunt, to be honest. always up for a good chat, telling you stories about her travels across the galaxy. throws in a little “don’t tell jingliu, but i think you’d be better at archery, than swordsmanship.”
and jing yuan, oh boy. you two would always sneak away and talk and lie together and be idiots. he’s young, only barely creeping towards one hundred, but so are you, and he brings you to places he loves to show them to you.
there’s one particular spot he loves more than the rest.
there’s a little path in an abandoned stretch of trees towards the edge of the luofu ship. the path is barely visible amidst the tall grass, but jing yuan shows you through every step of the way until you both come into a clearing. it’s a field of flowers. private, closed off, with enough sunlight to keep the area warm. and it’s beautiful.
if you die, jing yuan buries you there. he also buries what remained of baiheng, and carves yingxing, jingliu, and dan feng’s names into headstones as a memoir of the past.
if you do return, for whatever reason it may be, it has been centuries. centuries are long enough to forget, as everything yields to time. wherever you have been, it has been long enough to forget.
returning is odd. the xianzhou luofu has changed, as have the other ships. you’re not sure how long it has been, and you’re not sure why you’re trekking this particular path. it feels familiar, and you have the faintest notion that there is supposed to be someone at the end of wherever this path leads.
who it is, you’re not sure. perhaps, if they are there, they can provide you an answer. maybe they can even tell you who you are, and what purpose you serve, other than to keep the sky together.
jing yuan never changed this area. not only was it his favourite, but he, as well as his old friends, had clung to the idea that you would return eventually.
if he changed it, jing yuan feared you’d forget even more than you already had. so, he kept it the same.
at the end of the path, for your first return is not a person. there’s nobody here, but four headstones buried in the grass. you read the names, but there is nothing. you don’t remember these people, but still your heart twists, as if you should have known them.
so, with grief heavy in your heart, you return to the sky.
the next time you return is because you realise you’re forgetting again, though it is one hundred years later. you walk down the same path because it is familiar, expecting to see someone, or something.
you see both. a man, and four headstones. you don’t recognise him, but it must have been the person you’ve sought, for you only had the faintest idea that there should’ve been somebody here. so, it must be him.
you explain to the stranger you feel as though you should recognise him, but you don’t. you also tell him his eyes are like the sunlight in the sky.
to that, he responds that you’ve told him that before. and you have. many, many times and many, many years ago.
jing yuan knows you can’t stay here, but it has been such a long time since he’s seen your face. so, he lets you examine the headstones as you did centuries ago.
he wasn’t there that day. the sky had darkened on the days you first returned, and though jing yuan had an inkling of an idea it had something to do with you, he had been bested by his own mind at the thought that you were gone, and had thus disappeared to grieve by himself.
truly, today, he came to grieve once the sky darkened again. seeing you here was not what he expected.
you ask him questions that visit. about the people beneath the soil—he responds that there aren’t any bodies buried here. baiheng’s body withered, dan feng never truly died, and neither did jingliu or yingxing.
“they all float aimlessly,” he tells you. “baiheng is gone. dan feng has a new identity, and what existed before is lost. jingliu and yingxing’s minds are scattered to the clouds. i cannot say what they will do if you cross paths, or whether they will remember you.”
you ask if you can meet them someday, as perhaps maybe one of them can jog your memory. jing yuan promises it is a possibility, but it is nearing impossible. fate will draw your paths together, he deduces. one day.
so, after a while, he tells you to return to the skies. it hurts, because he wants you to stay. he wants to tell you everything you did together. why you would trek this path, and only this path, and who the headstones were once. but he can’t, and so you return once more.
it is an endless cycle of you returning once you’ve realised you’ve forgotten the man who waits for you at the end of that path. an all too familiar path that seems new, but somewhere, you know you’ve walked along it before. sometimes it is only fifty years, sometimes it is two hundred, but jing yuan ensured that he is always there to greet you.
he tells yanqing of you one day. that’s only because he knows he won’t be around forever. he will be mara-stricken, or perhaps he will be killed in battle, but whatever it is, he tells yanqing, as his retainer and potential successor, to take over this position, and to pass it onto his successor, and then generations will pass.
but, for the moment, each time you return, jing yuan remains. and jing yuan promises you, though he knows you will forget, that when he does inevitably perish, he will find a way to join you in the skies.
dan heng asked him once after learning of you if it is difficult to love someone who you cannot be with.
jing yuan replied it’s easy. and it is easy, because every time the sky shifts from night to day, and the sun rises, and the clouds pass, he knows you’re up there, and you’re safe.
tldr: batty old general jing yuan talks to the clouds sometimes.

Mira just got back from the bathroom, plopping down on the couch next to her boyfriend and tucking her legs underneath herself. “You can press play.” They both shared a nod of approval before resuming their romance movie.
The movie was calming down from its climax, prompting her to rest her head on Wonwoo’s shoulder. He takes in a sharp breath, causing Mira to retreat from him.
“Are you okay?” She frowned, keeping her distance.
He presses his fingers into his shoulder, shutting his eyes at the sensation. “Yeah, I’ve just been exerting some muscles I don’t usually use at the stunt academy.”
“Stunt academy?” Her eyes widen, her mind going directly to the worst-case scenario.
“Yeah, I learned some martial art moves for—”
“Martial arts?” She sits up straight, placing her hand on his knee.
“Hey, it’s fine.” He cups her cheek with his palm. “I have to film an action scene for our music video, so I learned from the professionals.”
Mira slouches back against the couch, letting out a sigh of relief. “You scared me.”
“I’m okay–” Both of their heads snap towards the screen when the female lead lets out a moan. Mira feels her cheeks heat up, pursing her lips.
“Uh, we filmed some test footage. Did you wanna see?” He tries to direct their attention elsewhere to downplay the manner of the movie scene.
“Oh, sure!” She perks up, watching as he takes his phone out of his pocket. She pays attention to the movie before he holds out his phone.
She smiles upon seeing him barefaced with his glasses on, and a beanie. “Awe.”
He chuckles nervously before pressing play on the video. She giggles at him taking a deep breath before they begin the sequence.
“You’re so–OH! Oh my gosh–“ She covers her mouth when people in the video start lunging for Wonwoo. She’s speechless while watching the rest of the video, her boyfriend throwing and dodging punches, even kicking the stunt people. When most of the guys are on the ground, her eyes widen as he stands in the video, panting. The footage ends with him fixing his beanie.
She looks at him, her mouth agape behind her palm. He gets flustered when looking into her eyes, throwing his head back on the sofa while snickering.
“Wow, that’s…” Mira shakes her head in disbelief. “Awesome. Can I see it again?”
“Of course.” He hands her his phone and she swipes to the beginning to watch it all over again. The first time, she focuses on the actors coming his way. Second, she watches Wonwoo’s face the entire time. Third, she watches his body movements. He is shy everytime she restarts the video, trying his hardest to focus on the movie and not her reactions.
She watches a fourth time, but scrolls through it frame by frame. Watching it in slow motion was not her brightest idea, because she takes every detail into account. She can’t deny that he looks incredibly sexy. He probably doesn’t even recognize what he’s doing, focusing on the routine he was taught at the academy. She sees his shirt lift up and she can’t help but rewind and scroll some more, wetting her lips at the sight of his abs. She’s at the end of the video, but she doesn’t remember anything from it because her mind is imagining him shirtless.
“Mira?” He knocks her out of her daydreaming.
Her cheeks heat up again, as well as her ears. She feels as if he completely read her mind and she was about to be caught. “Oh, yes?”
“Are you done? I mean you can watch as many times as you want but I’m getting embarrassed.” He smirks.
“Uhh, yes I am.” She hands his phone back to him, trying to get one more glimpse at him in the video. She watches him press the share button and sends it to her through texts. She really wishes he hadn’t done that. “It’s really good. I’m proud of you.”
He smiles, leaning over to give her a kiss on the cheek. She blushes and suddenly feels hot all over. He doesn’t pull away but instead stares at her lips. She watches his eyes drift, so she takes the opportunity to tilt her head and kiss his lips. He follows the way her lips move against him, cupping her cheek with his hand. Mira feels her phone ring in her pocket from the text he sent. She quickly pulls away, clearing her throat while brushing strands of her hair behind her ear.
She stumbles on her words, distancing herself from him. “I- do you want me to massage your shoulder?”
He snorts, leaning forward to give her more access. “Go crazy.”
She stretches her fingers before readjusting and pressing them into his shoulder. He shudders the second she applies pressure.
“Sorry,” She pouts, trying to be gentle with him.
“Don’t worry, you can’t hurt me.” He rubs her knee, turning his attention to the movie.
The hairs on her head stand up from that touch alone. She does her best to push away her lustful thoughts, watching the movie with him.
They get absorbed in the intimate scenes when Mira reaches one of his more sore muscles, causing him to suppress a moan. Regardless of his efforts, she still heard it loud and clear.
“Did I hurt you?” She takes her hands back, holding them to her chest.
“No, that felt good.”
“Oh, um…” She tries to reposition her hands back to where they were just a moment ago. She feels around his shoulder blades before he lets out another moan.
“Right there.” He sighs
She flattens her lips, willing her fingers to not start shaking now. “Like this?”
“Just like that.” He speaks low enough for her to hear. Her imagination starts to run wild as she continues to massage his shoulder. She envisions what it would be like to hear the same sounds coming from him but under different circumstances. Would he say the exact same words? She wants to hit herself for looking back on all the times he had been shirtless around her. Her pulse quickens at the thought of the steamy scene minutes ago and what it would be like for her and Wonwoo.
“Why’d you stop?” She snaps out of it again to see him looking at her. She doesn’t remember ever stopping.
“I…” Her fingers hover over his skin, looking down into his eyes. “Sorry, I don’t know–“ She trails off, entranced by his wet lips. They both feel the pull towards each other, leaning in until the front door flies open.
“I got ice cream!” Mingyu lifts the bags, pushing the door shut with his leg.
Mira throws her on the opposite side of the sofa like they were caught doing something they weren’t supposed to be doing. She hopes Mingyu didn’t notice anything except for the flush across her skin.
“Ice cream!” She stands to her feet, rushing over to grab a bag from Mingyu. “Do you want some ice cream, Wonwoo?”
“Uhh sure.” He stands, readjusting his sweats before stretching his back and limbs.
The three settle on the sofa, Wonwoo in between both of them. Mingyu has his own bowl of ice cream, while the couple share one. She’s hoping the ice cream can somehow melt away her uneasiness from their situation, but she finds herself more agitated sitting so close to her boyfriend.
“You didn’t eat much, do you want the rest?” He leans his temple against her shoulder, whispering into her ear.
“It’s okay, you can have it.” She whispers back, attempting a reassuring nod. She turns her attention to the movie, watching him out of the corner of her eye.
She can’t remember what’s all happened in their movie or even the title of it as she watches him finish the ice cream. Her first mistake was trusting herself enough to turn her head a little to see the cream on the corner of his lips. He wipes it away with his thumb before licking his finger clean. She feels her mouth go dry and a ringing in her ears.
She may have imagined him his eyes shifting to her, but it’s enough for her to shoot up and ask the two boys if they’re done with their ice cream.
“Can I take it?” She grabs both of the bowls from them, running away to the kitchen to collect herself and clean the dishes.
Her mind is running laps as she frantically rinses the dishes, drying them and placing them back in the cupboards. She dries her hands, taking her phone out of her pocket with shaky hands. She texts Sua to come and pick her up ASAP.
Before she can go back to watch the movie with them, she gives herself a pep talk while fixing her hair and clothing.
Wonwoo eyes her as she comes back in, splaying his arm out on the sofa to wrap around her. She forces a smile, bringing her knees to her chest.
He leans in, rubbing his hand back and forth on her shoulder. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, I just don’t feel too good so Sua is coming early.”
“We can go to my room and you can lay on the bed if you–“
Going to Wonwoo’s room and laying down on his bed.
“No. Really, I’m fine. It’s not a big deal.”
He scans her face, debating on whether he should feel her forehead for a fever. He nods, instead pressing a peck to her temple. It was very clear to him how tense and unnatural she was acting. He nods, not wanting to overwhelm her anymore.
After a while, her phone vibrates in her pocket, knowing that it’s Sua telling her she’s outside. The movie is almost over so she sticks it out, hoping her member won’t be too agitated with her for making her wait.
The second the screen fades to black, she stands up and smooths her pants down. “Thank you for having me over, I really enjoyed tonight.” She bows her head to Mingyu before heading to the front door.
“No problem…” Mingyu raises his eyebrow, watching as Wonwoo walks after her.
She struggles to get her shoes on, pushing her bag to her back.
“Mira,” He presses his palm against her back, causing her to flinch. “Is everything alright?”
“Everything’s fine, don’t worry.” She turns her head, pleading with her eyes for him to take a hint. She makes sure she has everything before pulling the door open.
“Let me walk you–“
“No! It’s fine, I’ll be okay.” She nods, giving him an unexpecting peck on the lips. “Love you. I’ll text you.”
She leaves him no room to argue, shutting the door and rushing to the elevators.
Wonwoo stands at the front door for a second before walking back to the living room. He’s thinking in his head when Mingyu brings him back to reality.
“Is it just me or was she acting really weird?” He points to the door, flattening his lips.
“You noticed?”
Mira quickly gets in the car and fastens her seatbelt. Sua looks her up and down, raising an eyebrow. “Is everything okay?”
“Yes, everything is fine.”
“Did something happen–“
“No, nothing happened. I’m just tired so can we please go home?” She presses her arm against the door, holding her head up. When the vehicle doesn’t start driving, she looks over to see the woman staring at her. “Now.”
“Yes ma’am. Sheesh.” She sits back, putting the car in reverse.
“I am despicable.” Mira mumbles under her breath.
Tumblr media
April 29, 2024
She can’t help but bite her nails, hesitating on clicking the official music video. She was both anxious and excited to see the final product. She was also fearsome of what she would have to face once she finally watched Wonwoo’s fight scene. She thought it was shameful enough to be thirsting over him, but she didn’t want to come to terms with the fact that she craved to be intimate with him.
Mira pressed on the Maestro music video, listening to the song with her headphones on. She waited impatiently for his part, nearly squealing the second it did. Her jaw hung open, having to replay the scene over and over again.
She zoned out, feeling a warmth fill her center. He looked too sexy and she felt ashamed to be imagining such inappropriate things about him.
“Mira!” Yoohyeon reached back for Mira’s leg, shaking it from her seat.
The girl quickly took her headphones off her head, once again acting like she was caught watching something she was not supposed to. “Hmm?”
“Are you drooling?”
She was not expecting a twenty second video to bother her this much.

A little ficlet based on the recent Zelda reveal
I was suddenly inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom game trailer. While this probably can't be considered spoilers on accounts of the game and its story not actually being out, viewer discretion is advised. This is likely not canon to the actual events of the game and is just my initial lore prediction. I was heavily inspired by the trailer and it got words flowing.
Assumptions:
Set in the Downfall timeline post Link's Awakening due to similar art styles and the presence of Deku scrubs.
Characterisations are unique
Also, I know nothing about the Downfall timeline besides vague hints from Linked Universe content as I haven't played any of their games. Creative liberties have been taken.
Fic under the break. Tags of ficlet contain spoilers. Also additional notes for the fic are under the fic itself, including explanations of concepts and background for the scene not included in the Assumptions.

Zelda threw herself to the ground as the Void Rift finally stopped eating at her steps, the halls of Ganon's new lair shrouded in shadows that Tri could barely pierce with their gleam. She groaned, hand still gripping the Tri-staff with a white-knuckled grip, as she refused to let go of her one saving grace in her journey for her kingdom. She didn't know how Link made each of his quests look so effortless. If the kingdom itself wasn't resting on her shoulders she didn't think she could have made it half as far as she has.
"Well, well, well. I didn't expect to see you in the Lord's Lair so soon. Quite far from the light aren't you, Princess?"
Zelda scrambled to her feet, Tri flying to her side to steady her hasty rise as she brandished her staff before her, summoning an echo torch before her to light the room.
The torch lasted mere moments before it was snuffed out, seemingly consumed by the ravenous Darkness surrounding her. If it wasn't for Tri and her staff, the wayward Princess wouldn't have been able to see the ground at all.
Tri zipped beside her ear to whisper advice, likely wary of whatever was in the room. The sheer fact that Tri didn't already know was worrying in and of itself. "Zelda this isn't normal Darkness, whatever is in here is dangerous, maybe even Ganon's most dangerous creation yet! This Darkness feels relentless." her companion murmured, their button-like eyes creased with barely concealed fear. Zelda felt her own heart jump. Tri couldn't even tell what was hidden in the shadows?
Zelda lifted a hand for her fairy to rest on as she replied with an equally as quiet "We can't turn back, not with the rift in the way. We'll make it through together," Before looking back into the Darkness for even a hint of movement. "Show yourself, servant of the Demon King!" She shouted, swinging her staff forward as an entire swath of torches was lit, fans behind them pushing the fire forward to clear out a path through the Darkness.
With a loud snarl more befitting of its master, the Darkness surged forward and attacked the fans directly, shattering the echoes before consuming the flames in turn. The hidden monster's voice had a loud echo as it spoke. Whatever room they were in must be big. "Do you think you can beat my Master? Your oh-so-pathetic knight couldn't, what makes you think you stand a chance?" it taunted, voice moving lazily across the room, uncaring of the impact of its words.
"Where is he? Answer me you monster!" Zelda cried out into the moving shadows surrounding her, twisting as she tried to track the monster, refusing to let it get behind her.
"Oh Princess, didn't you see those cursed souls outside?" it seemed to whisper, voice dripping with mocking pity as her heart clenched. The cursed souls, the Hylians that Ganon had kidnapped through the Dark Rifts doomed to serve their captor as slaves to the monsters. Only the Tri-staff's power could free them from Ganon's thrall, and return them home. Link would never succumb to the Darkness; he was too strong for that, but even the thought of him befalling such a fate sent a spike of fear through her bones.
"He would never have succumbed to your Master and his powers. Link is far too strong to ever fall," she hissed at the voice's general direction.
"I'll admit, he put up a fight. Not even a thousand monsters could weaken his resolve and put out that fool's damned faith." Despite the way the voice spat insults at her hero as if the words were poisoned, she almost felt relief at its words. Of course, Link would fight an entire army of monsters to reach her again, it was such a Link thing to do.
"but there's more than one way to snuff out a light," it chuckled, the voice whispering into her ear as her heart lept to her throat. She swung around and summoned an echoed lizalfos in front of her, but it barely lasted a second before the Darkness surrounded it and she could hear its death throes. Tri hovered over her shoulder, shaking with the weight of Zelda's fear for her knight. What are these monsters doing to him?!
"What have you done to my knight!" She screamed out, equal parts fury, mania, and fear giving her power enough of a boost that the Tri-staff glowed brighter, reacting to her will. The voice only laughed at her, its horrid amusement staining the air as the shadows pooled lazily at the edges of her light, unconcerned with her strengthened power.
"Where there is light, there must always be Darkness. Darkness is the natural state of the world, a state my Master will return it to once he rips that little triangle from your hand. From Darkness everything has come from-" it spoke with a madness that outshone its master's own, the monster's manic tone betraying barely a depth of its own insanity. Zelda's foot almost slipped into the Void Rift before she pulled herself back from the edge. Whatever creature Ganon had in this room, it was unlike anything she had ever faced before. It terrified her.
"-and to Darkness I have returned," it purred as torches of Dark fire lit upon the walls, bringing vision through the room while the space remained covered in its darkness. The ceiling was high and decorated with Ganon propaganda, images of the boar-faced brute staring down from all angles. The walls were leaking more of that Darkness, pooling down into grooves on the floor as they made their way to the circle of the cylindrical room. At its centre were multiple sets of shackles, prepared as if to contain a single person despite the sheer number of chains. Standing in the centre of the room was the source of the voice, the servant of Ganon whose darkness was so absolute that it didn't care at all for the power of the Tri-staff.
Distantly, Zelda could feel Tri slam into her chest, trembling so violently with both horror and fear that the little fairy could barely breathe. She could hear blood roaring in her ears as silently, desperately, she begged her eyes to be lying. This couldn't be real. Yet even as her free hand's nails dug hard enough into her palm to leave red marks on her skin, nothing in the room changed. The Hylian in front of her didn't morph into something else, or disappear as a trick of the shadows. This was real. This was real and she didn't know how to handle it as her world was shattered and laid to rest at the feet of the one she had journeyed so far to save.
"You've been searching my Master's kingdom for your hero? Well, here I am Princess." Link grinned at her, not an ounce of kindness in his eyes as he stared at her as if she were nothing but a Bokoblin he needed to kill.

Notes!
So to start there are two kinds of Rifts. Dark rifts lead to Ganon's evil Realm and Void Rifts, lead from Ganon's Realm into the Void. Nothing survives a Void rift.
Darkness is the main evil force in this. It's sort of an omnipresent force as a vapour in Ganon's realm but also exists as both a liquid and a solid. it is essentially evil given tangible form.
And to get to the meat of the concept Link has been corrupted by Darkness!
Dark Link's appearance isn't brought up, but you can assume it's evil-looking and menacing, perhaps even the classic Dark Link fit (Black skin, Red eyes, Silver hair, Black hero outfit). Just make his eyes red.
The room is indeed a boss room, but Zelda will escape due to Tri-staff BS without finishing the fight with Link because I need to get at least two encounters out of this guy.
Ganon also stole Link's part of the Triforce when he captured him the first time. Yes, Link has escaped Ganon, but the only way in and out of the realm without Ganon's power is the Tri-staff. Link does not have the Tri-staff
The chains in the room + Ganon's Propaganda might not have been entirely obvious but this is also where Ganon imprisoned Link to corrupt him. I could write another ficlet for it but he was essentially chained down and smothered with darkness completely, with nothing but pure evil and propaganda for company. This would have been going on for at least two weeks to a month before Link was fully corrupted.
Zelda will eventually purge him of the Darkness don't worry, but first, the Tri-staff and her own power will need a serious upgrade. The Darkness infesting Link is supercharged, coming directly and purposefully from Ganon himself and is also attracted to him as the past holder of the Triforce of Courage. At her current strength, Zelda would be hard-pressed to beat him in combat, let alone purge hm of his Darkness.
I have a few ideas on how to build off of this idea, including the aforementioned Link's corruption ficlet, but also one where Zelda seeks aid, a Dark Link POV ficlet, and even Link's Purging. Feel free to suggest more ideas if you've got them, I wanna see where this idea could go!

The world needs more Yue and Zuko friendship, I squeal just thinking abt the parallels. They deserve a life changing field trip together and if u have abt ideas I’m all ears 👀
Hiii anon this ask fermented in my inbox and in my brain for so long,, so take this??? Post canon yue lives/no war au arts?? Anyway aside from the Parallels and their political position & their duty before hoes grindset I think they could learn a lot from each other. With zuko learning the gift of patience & diplomacy from yue & Yue learning that allowing yourself to feel anger and speaking up can actually be Good.
Tumblr media
anyway hypothetical life changing trip outcome: zuko takes an intro gender studies class and yue says fuck

Happy Valentines, Akira. Happy Valentines, Asshole.
If you can’t read what Akechi’s secondary inner-dialogue says cause I obscured it too much behind his regular dialogue, here’s a transcription in panel order: Hello, you fucking- Ah- Hello, Akira! Fuck off, why should I tell you- Just a soda- there’s a new flavor.
I don’t want your shitty gift. Oh- haha! You’re so sweet.
I hope I choke. They’re lovely, thank you.
Like hell. Likewise. There’s no way it’s just a coincidence. Still though, it’s a funny coincidence.
#p5#akeshu#akechi goro#kurusu akira#wow- me?? posting a valentines comic... actually on?? valentines????? wack. absolutely wack#it's a short one! I purposefully tried to keep it short. it was a challenge and it still ended up being 3 pages. but i blame my canvas size#also in case u can't see what akira is holding out to akechi: theyre chocolate covered strawberries on sticks!#i saw them irl and was like oh god i want those. i am going to project that feeling on my favorite characters so help me god#and now! here we are! but my shitty-ass coloring & line quality make it hard to discern them so. sorry about that lmaooooo#ANYWAY i don't do enough post-maruki stuff so. i made this one a little bittersweet. :)#why did i put akechi's scarf in a bow? honestly i dont know! i think i saw some art a while ago that did that too and i thought it was cute#well. plus i guess there's the symbolism of 'akechi being alive and reciprocating your feelings (however involuntarily) IS a gift' part#hence that hes wrapped up in a bow. like a present. :)#also god. the first panel is supposed to be akechi's reflection in a vending machine window. I could NOT get it to look right#so for reference!!! just so you guys understand!!!!!! thats what that panel is supposed to be!!! he is NOT in fact a ghost. (sigh)#hope you enjoyed and had a lovely valentines!! for my part i have eaten nothing but sweets today and hoo boy will that have been a mistake#ALSO in terms of the audience-participation comic...hopefully coming soon. if i can ever gain the will to draw it.#but at least tumblr has polls now so i can do the audience-choose-y bit without needing to use a separate website! so thats good i guess#anyway anyway anway thanks for listening to me ramble if you made it this far! have a lovely rest of your day and hopefully see u again soon

My very next post shows the process of how I made this. Timeskip because ONE I don't particularly care to draw canon ten year olds kissing, icks me out, and TWO that way I have an excuse to grow May's hair out and not draw bangs in profile view. SPECIAL THANK YOU TO @metzintli for encouraging me SO MUCH with this, it means the world!

OH YEAH I DID ART
Month 6, day 3, did days 1 and 2 of @adorkastock's Draw Everything June challenge!
Not me making up characters on the spot, no, I would never, it's not like character design is my truest love or anything :P Neither of them have names, but Day 1 uses he/him pronouns and Day 2 uses she/her pronouns and made the kitty cat patch for her pocket herself :3
