When writing I am weary with contending did you take inspiration from anything for mumbo and ariana's relationship, asking because it was written incredibly well and the lasting effects it had were accurately heart wrenching.

+ just curious but were there any scenes you thought about but scrapped between the two of them? And did Mumbo ever open up about the full extent if it to the other two or is he someone that's better at tackling those kind of things by himself?

Funnily enough, I remember rewatching the movie Whiplash to get inspired for Ariana. For very vague, moreso aesthetic reasons I also got inspired by Slay the princess. Personality wise I knew what I wanted.

As for missing scenes... Sadly none that I've ever actually written, but I did think about her a lot to get a better picture of her and Mumbo's relationship. I certainly could've added more scenes where Ariana was friendly-er to Mumbo, or where things were 'normal' and sort of safe. That was still a big part of their relationship, because even though she wasn't a good person, she did really like Mumbo (even if it's more in a pet way than anything else). Also just for a false sense of security, lol. There probably would've been moments where Mumbo would even defend her in front of Grian, since Grian really liked to rag on her (reasonably) and Mumbo himself wouldn't really know why'd he do that (is it a sense of belonging or is it him being afraid that she'd hear, or is he geniuenly trying to defend her, etc.)

As for Mumbo telling the other two about Ariana, I'd say Grian already knows a lot about her.

He was there around the same time Mumbo was, living in the area long before they actually met. He saw a lot that went down (and maybe even saw some things without Mumbo knowing it). And much much later, as was said, Mumbo would open up about her abuse much later on in life when he felt comfortable enough to do it, and Grian would listen.

As for Scar, I feel like he'd eventually figure out though bits and pieces of them mentioning her, or whatever brief answer he'd get from asking them directly. But the only way he's getting a complete timeline is from Grian, who was involved but only on the outside looking in. The only one that could know the extent of *everything* is Mumbo himself, and sometimes, it's hard for him to know the extent of what happened.

He was affected very badly, but after the epilogue he's at a position in his life where he can settle down and let it go.

what even is this? it's stupid. I hate this pit in my chest. it's not even them, in general, its.. vaguer. maybe just the act as a whole. I need to get out more. maybe if I make more content for school, i'd get eyes on me. am I needy? It's going on my (increasingly massive) Rings of Power to-write list, but honestly I really wish I was a visual artist because I feel like Kintsugi Adar deserves to be seen outside of the mind's eye.

So after reading this lovely Celebrimbor/Adar arranged political marriage AU post, I have not been able to stop thinking about the potential of this ship.

In my initial reblog I added the tags:

#imagining adar being like: celebrimbor loves and makes things of beauty#clearly me and my children must be an affort to his eyes#and celebrimbor being eternally curious and so instead he's sort of fascinated#because they were forged really#just as much as any ring

And then I went to go capslock at @hunter-gatherer-stuff (who is the best and encourages all my brain's wild rabbit holes) about how Celebrimbor (being the huge nerd that he is) would be driven to understand how the Uruks were designed and function. He not be able to help the urge to study Adar.

And they, insightful as always, really struck on the idea that Celebrimbor finds beauty everywhere, that he can't help finding something to love in everyone he encounters. He is almost doomed to fall hard and fast over and over again and used to being valued as a tool to a certain extent but not really cherished the same way he cherishes. (We see Sauron exploit the hell out of that. )

But what is truly making me UNWELL was the next idea that I had:

What if Celebrimbor used Kintsugi on Adar? What if, instead of like Nenya seeking to undo what Morgoth did and return the person he was before he was Adar, which Adar rejected . . . Celebrimbor bound back together Adar's fractured form and face with precious metal : accentuating the places where he's been shattered in a way that honors those cracks instead of erasing them, making him whole without trying to undo what was done but instead of building. Making and finding beauty, art, and strength out of of where and how he was broken, building something more rather than seeing it as an obstacle to ignore or overcome.

Do we have some hint about Mithrun and Kabru as partners (to lovers or smth, anytime). I know it's hard because of Mithrun and his lack of desire… but… I read all and the extras but I can't not see maybe they would be a cool couple (more than they were on the dungeon)

I am being tempted..... I must stay strong and maintain my I don't talk about ships stance. (My one advice is that you don't need canon evidence to ship)

But speaking of canon partnership I think Mithrun and Kabru worked well in the week they had to stay as a duo, although it had lots of bumps along the way they managed to survive a lot that Laios party (with 3 people more) had trouble with.

I think it speaks a lot to how strong Mithrun is, but if Kabru wasn't so observant and caring Mithrun probably wouldn't have survived so well with his glossy hair.

Also, although Mithrun is described as having no desires we know it's possible to create new desires and Mithrun shows preferences in his own way even during the time he's in the dungeon, like how he tries to reason with the dungeon lords before going to harsher means or how he doesn't let Kabru hand feed him, so although forming meaningful relationships might be hard for him I don't think it's that much of an impossibility.

I'm working at the office today (home office I miss u...) so I don't have my supply of neatly organized dunmeshi chapters to add screenshots here but you can always reread chapter 61 and 62 to see them working together.

Silly goofy grounded squad headcannons cause I miss them

• Cuddle pile. Sometimes after big fights with spiders on having to swim through the pond they’ll all sleep in a big cuddle pile. (Boto refuses to acknowledge that he likes it)

• Wren definitely accidentally told Mounce and Annie that they might slightly like Boto and Annie keeps not so subtly teasing them about it (though thankfully Boto hasn’t caught on)

• In their spare time Wren and Mounce have been working on carving dice out of rocks that way the four of them can play DnD (Wren’s also been trying to help Boto make a character sheet)

• If prom hasn’t happened by the time they all get back to their normal size Annie is dragging all of them. She doesn’t care how much they protest

• Wren and Mounce have Ao3 accounts, Mounce has posted several fics, Annie has used Ao3 as a guest

• Wren has infodummped the plot of several musicals to the others

• Wren and Mounce love EPIC, they’ve assigned everyone EPIC characters

• When they get to their normal size Wren, Mounce, and Annie drag Boto to their local ren fair when it opens and larp all day (Wren and Mounce have a great time, Boto has fun and Annie ends up warming up to it a bit)

Silver is regretting not being honest with Sebek in the beginning, but he didn’t know how else to help, so can he really be blamed?

And the question of ‘them…’ who are they? What did they do?

Headcanon that Silver got his unique magic when Sebek had a nightmare one night when they were kids. Bc Unique Magics only seem to unlock when they’re necessary.

Imagine they werent even in the same house or whatever. Like Sebek was having a nightmare in the Zigvolt household while Silver sensed a disturbance in the force while in the cabin he lives in with Lilia. He "wakes" up, and for some reason he's at the town square. It's oddly dark and dreary, with the shops seemingly abandoned and the whole place desolate, except for a group of shadows that vaguely resemble the town children surrounding someone.

Silver pushes through, and finds Sebek at the center of it all, desperately telling himself to wake up. Silver is quick to wave the shadows away, even as they keep coming back, and brings Sebek in for a hug.

He stays with him for the whole night.

Do you think Blight is his actual name or a nickname

With how silly Hunger Games names can get I am inclined to believe it is his actual name.

It is interesting though. Blight is a disease for plants, so it is fair to assume it is a nickname, because what parent would name their children after something that is negative. Like the whole industry of 7 would take a big hit if a big amount of the trees suffer from blight, so interesting someone would name their kid after that.

Or idk maybe his parents just hated him lol

In RHD au, sometimes Angel makes photos where Alastor is present (he is quite friendly with Husk and Husk hangs out a lot with Al, so some time before Angel moved to Hotel those three sometimes hang out all together). And because Angel usually uses digital camera, they just started to obscure Alastor's face with random objects
