Hey! Does anyone know what the lyric changes are in the UK Newsies version of Once and For All? 

The line in the broadway version is:

Joe, you can stop counting sheep We're gonna sing ya to sleep You've got your thugs with their sticks and their slugs Yeah! But we got a promise to keep!

But in the UK version ‘You've got your thugs with their sticks and their slugs Yeah! But we got a promise to keep!’ is different and I can’t tell what they say.

If anyone can help it would be so appreciated!!

I always think that when people say the broadway lyrics are better than the 92sies lyrics they must be forgetting that line in once and for all, 'better to die than to crawl'. What genius decided that a line with that much visceral emotion somehow wasn't good enough for the stage?

i know this sounds really crazy probably but like. are the different newsies adaptations different universes??? or are they just whatever the newsies you have in your mind are? like if i’m reading a fanfiction, i almost always imagine 92sies jack, livesies davey, livesies race, 92sies spot, 92sies blink and mush, +albert, finch, and elmer, but obviously that’s not what’s actually happening in the author’s head, it’s almost always one or the other. (also if the author specifies what version they’re writing, i always try to follow that best i can) so i want to know once and for all what do the fans say??? a. when you’re reading a fanfic or just imagining something in your head, what version do you imagine, and b. is this newsies: into the news-verse or am i just fucking delusional?

What are your feelings about 92sies overall as a piece of cinematic art?

I need to start this off by saying: I absolutely love this movie I have watched it countless times and it is one of my favorites

That being said. Waaay back in 2017 (18 maybe?) when I first watched 92sies I did not like it. In fact! I didn’t even watch the whole thing before giving up. I since have grown and matured to fully realize the cinematic genius that is Newsies (1992)

I understand why is wasn’t a box office hit but also IT SHOULDVE BEEN A BOX OFFICE HIT I LOVE LITTLE BABY 92SIES 🫶🫶🫶

Looking at it through an actual like cinematic lens the plot is kind of all over the place, Sarah and Jack’s romance is completely random, as is the whole Francis Sullivan/Jack Kelly thing (I get it but for the overall plot it’s just A Lot). On top of all that the singing is bad! It just is! Disney easily could’ve hired voice actors to sing for the kids but they didn’t (and I personally love this decision even if big audiences don’t) it adds way more character to the songs I think and makes it way more convincing that this rag tag gang of ragamuffins are the ones doing the singing. They weren’t supposed to be great mighty heros that were amazing at everything, they were supposed to be a bunch of poor kids standing up for themselves!!!! I love it so much although I know that’s not the general consensus of folks outside of the fandom

It was the perfect movie to become a cult classic (which is has) and that doesn’t always mean it’s gonna be a good movie it just means that the people who get it get it and those who don’t don’t

Also Kenny Ortega obviously put a little 💅🏼🏳️‍🌈in it for us which I greatly appreciate

Objectively I can see why it’s a bad movie, subjectively it’s the best movie that’s ever been created
