How To Fix Sims 3 Error Code 12 ?

The error code 12 which can be encountered while playing The Sims 3 is quite an annoying error which has been bugging users for a while now. The error itself prevents the users from saving their progress at all, making the game entirely unplayable. Being able to save your progress is vital in any game and The Sims 3 is no exception at all.

There are a lot of solutions suggested by people online which are confirmed as working by other players and our suggestion is to take a look at these solutions before you give up on the game. Good luck!

Solution 1: Increase The Pagefile On Your PC

The pagefile is a sort of a last resort where Windows goes to when it runs out of physical RAM memory. When your memory gets depleted, the system will use this preoccupied space on your hard drive in order to free up more RAM for the applications which are being actively used.

Note that your hard drive’s speed is much slower than RAM’s so increasing the pagefile greatly is not nearly the same as adding new physical memory but it can help and users have confirmed that adding some more physical memory on their PCs helped solve the error code 12.

Right-click on the This PC icon which is usually located on your Desktop or in your Libraries and choose the Properties option.

Click on the Advanced system settings “link” at the right of the window and navigate to the Advanced tab.

Under the Performance section, click on Settings and navigate to the Advanced tab of this window.

Under the Virtual memory section, click on Change. If the check box next to the “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives” option is checked, uncheck it and choose the partition or drive where you wish to add more paging file memory.

After you have selected the correct disc, click on the radio button next to custom size and choose the Initial and Maximum size. The rule of thumb to solve the problem with The Sims is to allocate two gigabytes extra than you already used. Make sure you set the initial and maximum size to the same value.

Apply the changes and open the game. Try saving your progress and check to see if your issue is resolved.

Solution 2: Try Clearing The Inventory Of Each Individual Sim

Sometimes the players play the game for a long time, making the game saturated in all types of items which are sometimes preventing the game from running normally, especially on PCs which are not so high-end.

This is probably a good reason to simply try and clear out the game by selling some unused items from Sims’ inventories. Sell these items and try running the game and saving your progress again. Plenty of users confirmed that this works!

Solution 3: Fixing The Game’s Confusion

Sometimes the game confuses and thinks that certain files have gone corrupt and it simply won’t save anything or perform some other actions. There are ways to trigger the restore mechanism which should change things back to normal and it includes follow the set of steps below which may be confusing but this method is one of the best ones which can lead to the error code 12 disappearing.

Tab out of the game (do this without actually closing the game by switching windows using Alt + Tab on a PC, or Command + ~ on a Mac).

Open a Windows Explorer or Finder window (depending on the operating system you are using).

Navigate to the location where the save games are saved. The usual locations for the saved games are as follows on different operating systems:

Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10: C >> Users >> USERNAME >> Documents >> Electronic Arts >> The Sims 3 >> Saves

Windows XP: C >>Documents and Settings >> USERNAME >> My Documents >> Electronic Arts >> The Sims 3 >> Saves

Mac OS X: Macintosh HD >> Users >> USERNAME >> Documents >> Electronic Arts >> The Sims 3 >> Saves

Delete any folder whose name ends in .bad extension and has your save game’s name at the beginning (e.g. Michael’s Game.sims3.bad). These are the failed saves you tried performing in the recent time.

Cut the folders that contain your game’s name at the beginning and which end with .sims3 or .backup and paste them into a backup folder which you should create on your desktop. These file are actually the active save games which haven’t gone corrupt yet.

The problem can also be solved without creating these backups but it’s the best to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Try saving your progress again and don’t worry about the lost files. The game will automatically generate new ones, which may cause the saving process to take longer than normal as more data is being copied from RAM into permanent storage.

Solution 4: Reduce The Graphic Settings

The Sims 3 is a quite memory-consuming game but it has a certain cap of memory it can consume (3.7GB on Windows OS and 2GB on Mac OS X). After the game reaches this cap, it can cause various errors and problems and the way to fix this is to reduce the memory consumption of the game.

This can be done by tweaking the in-game settings and reducing them in order to receive better performance. This will also cause the game to looks less quality but it’s definitely a price you’ll have to pay. Also, it’s good to optimize your PC and shut down background apps to free up some memory. Follow the instructions in this article to optimize your PC’s performance for gaming maximally.

Open the game and click on the three dots at the lower left corner. Click on the Options menu and navigate to the Graphics settings tab.

Set the Screen size to a lower setting if you are experiencing low FPS or if you want to get rid of the error code 12. You should also be able to see plenty of sliders such as Texture Detail, Tree Detail, etc. You can try turning them all off or you can turn some of them off and check to see if the issue is resolved. If you are playing on a low-end PC, consider turning left most of these sliders.

Users have also reported that playing the game in Windowed mode reduced the chances of receiving the error code 12 so make sure you try it out in the same screen.

Apply the changes and check to see if the error code 12 still appears.

Solution 5: Make Sure Your Drivers Are Up To Date

Having the latest drivers is definitely a must, no matter what problem you are encountering or what your intentions are with your PC. Outdated drivers often lead to errors which can only be solved by updating them. Unfortunately, no application or game will advise you to update them nor the error code will contain information about it. So, it’s the best if you simply update them as users suggested it fixed the error code 12 for them immediately.

Even if only one driver was causing the issue, you are better off knowing that you updated all drivers, preventing the issue from occurring with another driver.

Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.

Expand one of the categories to find the name of your device, then right-click (or tap and hold) it, and select Update Driver. For graphics cards, expand the Display adapters category, right click your graphics card and select Update Driver.

Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

If Windows doesn’t find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer’s website and follow their instructions.

Note: If you are using Windows 10, latest drivers are often installed alongside other Windows updates so make sure you keep your computer up to date. Windows Update is run automatically on Windows 10 but you can check by following the instructions below for a new update.

Use the Windows Key + I key combination in order to open Settings on your Windows PC. Alternatively, you can search for “Settings” by using the search bar located at the taskbar.

Locate and open the “Update & security” section in the Settings app.

Stay in the Windows Update tab and click on the Check for updates button under the Update status in order to check whether there is a new version of Windows available.

If there is one, Windows should proceed with the download process automatically.

I feel close to being done writing about myself. And my vantage at this point. I feel it would be nice to explore a subject in writing.

Like kalari. And where kalari meets ramana. Not scholarly sense, but for me. So that i can discover for myself the connections i have made. And the questions and blind spots are clearer to me.

Looking at a dance journal called FUSE, i caught a glimpse of the dancer’s notes...the notes, the scores, seemed closer to my way of enquiring. Scores. Questions. Frames of observation.

Like mom keeps saying, actions speak louder than words.

Yes. And in their moving around and relating back and forth to the space and movements and changing landscape of their emotions/memories/ etc… changes takes place… in ascertain kind of quietness. Cant call it silence. Or in a certain kind of silence. Cant call it quietness. Or is it a certain kind of silence.

But dialogues have no place there. Expect as inner soliloquies. May be as monologues. When it comes to rapid energy exchange, it physical. Not words. Because words are diversions at best.

Form is created by tension. Last night i was watching the mind. Or rather something was watching the mind. And i was in the mind trapped in its incessant chatter and looking from outside. Dnd idea: beholders reproduce by their dreams coming to life. Tales of eldritch beasts with indescribable, terrible forms start trickling from a tiny village in the mountains. Many claim to have seen them, some to have fought them, and a precious few to have vanquished them.

After scouring the mountains and coming across shadow beasts whose bodies disappear as they are slain, the adventurers find a cavern with a sleeping beholder and the skeleton of an elf. Here, smaller shadows drift about. Some of them speak, garbled, but gentle and recognizable as a humanoid voice. Others speak more clearly, speaking soft murmurs of encouragement and kindness.

The beholder itself is smaller than average, curled up next to the skeleton. On further examination, the skeleton is discovered to be of a nomadic clan, and very old. A few crumbling documents appear to be a journal of observations about "a unique specimen" that hasn't reached maturity, and the scientific opportunity at hand.

The beholder begins to stir, and as its milky, clouded eyes open, the adventurers realize that it is blind. The voices it creates are from dreams of its caretaker, the distorted shadows due to living without sight. The elf died of a sickness she had come to cure with eyes harvested from the beholder, but first was swayed by the fact that they might be too damaged to help, then by its helplessness, and as the end drew nearer, by love.

"Other than what was gleaned from LL, little is known about beholders in their juvenile form. This one appears to have an infantile mind, and as far as I can tell from observation it has either not yet developed, or developed without, the second identity common to the species. Perhaps, if all else fails, I might implant myself into the creature, if only to extend my life. Of course, the ethics of this are questionable, whether or not the beast possesses significant intelligence."

Among the elf's possessions, they find a bright glowing pendant on a chain. Using detect magic, the party realizes that the elf's spirit has been bound to the stone.

If they havent killed the beholder yet, the adventurers must make a decision. It will keep spawning the dangerous shadow creatures, so they cant leave it. It is otherwise harmless and technically still a child, so the implications of killing it are... bad. The journal offers some half possibilities, incomplete or scribbled out rituals to a) neuter the beholder (unethical, dangerous to the magic user and the beholder); b) implant the elf's consciousness into the beholder as a second identity (questionable, possibly dangerous, involves smashing the pendant so no going back); or c) restore sight and increase intelligence, consequences unknown (may connect with beholder hive mother, may turn evil, etc.).

Regardless, the adventurers will be encouraged to bring the beholder to Large Luigi at Rockabral, and the journal to Elivardos (now Elivardoset a'Brin'vye, as 4 centuries have passed since Blythesaria died.)

Money is a touch topic to talk about. But I have received these kind of questions since last year when I started to travel ( a lot i might say ). And not only people whom I do not know ask me from some random app, but also my friends’s been questioning how comes I travel all the times and where do i get money from to go from places to places. So today I think I am gonna all the answers to this kind of questions in this post.

I am coming from a privileged family (which was not privileged from the beginning because my parents were immigrants), but I worked very hard for everything in my life since I was 18 and this was everything that mattered to me, until today. Nothing has changed. I worked and saved money to enjoy traveling and to treat myself sometimes with nice designer bags and shoes. Of course my parents supported me with everything I wish to do and to have, but I just prefer to do it on my own. What I wanna tell you is that I wasn’t born rich. And the word “Rich” can be defined in many ways. Rich doesn’t just mean to be a wealthy person or having abundant possessions. Let’s see it in a different perspective. See me as a girl, rich in kindness, rich in intellectuality, rich in creativity, rich in friendliness and so on. There are many ways to be rich, right?

I started working ( not for my parents ) when I was 18 years old, last year of high school as a baby sister for 6 months. At first, this was just a 2 months thing but then I clicked with the kids and their family so well that was why I continued for doing for 4 more months. The reason I had to stop doing this was because my final exams were coming and I needed to focus on studying even I love the kids so much and the payment was great too. That was the first time I made my own money and I felt so great that for the first time of my life I invited my family out for dinner and I was the one who paid it with my own money. Ever since then, I know that I love working and earning money by myself. I think it is because of the feeling it makes me feel. I feel proud of myself and I feel that I am not a total useless as I always felt about me growing up. I am telling you this because I want to explain how I appreciate money and knowing that it is not easy to earn money at the first place.

So back to saving up. Finding ‘extra’ cash for travelling is a tough ask at the best of times, and can be especially challenging when you’re a student. Once you get organised, however, you can nibble your way to a savings fund without feeling overwhelmed. Even when you have your parents to support you but I highly recommend we need to save up on our owns. Trust me, once you get the feeling earning and spending your own money, it feels so amazing and satisfying . You can do with it what you please.. ( talking as a student here)

I have heard from countless people, both in real life and online, that the hardest part about travelling is having the MONEY to do it. In many ways, they’re right; travelling can be expensive. Depending on where and when you go somewhere, the expense can range from doable to absolutely out of reach.

Personally, I saved money all specifically for travel and treating myself. After going spending a semester in my freshman year, I knew I wanted to continue to travel both during my time at school, and after. To do that, I needed to save up little by little to reach my goals.

Here are little somethings that I did/do to save money:

1. Get a part time job

I worked as a full time waitress in a Vietnamese restaurant at the weekend and part time on weekdays. Having a part time jobs helps you become disciplined and develops great habits for success. The more money you earn the sooner your piggy bank for travel fills up too and the more traveling you can do.

2. Minimize spending on material goods

I, like many other people, love shopping. However, when I started saving my money I realized the quickest way to have more cash in my wallet was to just stop buying unnecessary things such as new clothes, products and shoes. Instead of spending $40 on a new sweater, search sales for a $20 one and put the extra $20 in savings. My shopping rule is now that if I don’t love it, I don’t buy it. AND if I do LOVE it, well then screw it I will buy it lmao. Okay it is a joke. Normally it is what I do when I see something and I love it. But when I am saving up for my next trip, and I see the product that I LOVE. I wait a day to think it over. Most of the time after 24 hours I realize I don’t really need it and it’s not worth the money.

Of course, if you’re a big shopper then you’re probably going to have to reign in the amount of things you’re buying. But if you’re a big shopper there’s also a high chance that you’re buying a lot of things that you don’t really love. If you can’t even remember what you’ve bought in the last month or you’re already thinking about what you’re going to buy next before the thing you’ve just bought has even made it to your wardrobe, then you can probably afford to buy less stuff. And even with that, you can still buy the things you love.

Don’t give up shopping, don’t create that sense of deprivation or lack.

3. Have a monthly target

Divide your total trip cost by the number of months until you go away. This tells you how much you need to save or earn to be able to afford your holiday.

4. Sell Your Crap

I sell my stuffs online. If it’s worth good money and you can’t travel with it or you did and you just won’t use them again, then is it really worth hanging onto? In my case, I took a long, hard look at my clothes one day, decided to sell it, and bought a bunch of new stuffs to replace it ( joke)

5. Have more house parties

This one relates to spending less on alcohol. If you have a house party you get your friends to bring the alcohol for you and you provide the venue. It’s a win win for all. In exchange for hosting the party all you have to do is clean up the next day. Being the host comes with it’s own benefits too, everybody wants to meet you 🙂 Increase your popularity status and save for your trip at the same time.

I havent hosted any house party yet. I just go to house parties 😀

6. Go to class. You’re paying for it and skipping is like throwing money out the window!

7. Cook More

Now is a good time to learn the art of cooking. It’s entirely possible to buy low-cost, healthy ingredients, and cook your own tasty meals at home.

8. Earn extra money before you travel

I work from home as a freelance online translator. Translating text from one language to another is becoming a fast-growing online profession. And the requirements are pretty easy too, so virtually anyone can become a translator part-time, or even full-time.

Most translation jobs require text-based translation. In some cases wherein you’d be translating live, you’ll need Skype to join conference calls or conduct one-on-one translations with a client.

Full-time translation jobs and extensive one-off projects are paid on an hourly basis. You can expect to earn around $12 an hour, but technical, legal or scientific content often pay up to $40/hour. Those with translation certification are given higher-paying jobs.

For smaller projects, such as brochures, lyrics, one-page document, slogans and the like, translation fees come on a per-word basis (around $.10 to $.20/word).

Translation jobs are also available on freelance websites like Guru.com, Fiverr.com, PeoplePerHour.com, Freelancer.com, UpWork.com, and more.

10. My last step to saving money, is being motivated to actually do it.

If you see a picture of the Taj Mahal and think “wow, I want to go there,” know that it may take months or years to save up the money to go. But that motivation will be what is driving your hard work and trust me, it WILL be worth it. If you have the drive, the rest will fall into place.

So, saving money won’t be easy. But it is NOT impossible! Learning how to save money for travel as a student can be a bit of a challenge, another but, anything challenging is rewarding! Rewarding yourself with the adventure of traveling the world, meeting new people, exploring different ancient civilizations and learning from new cultures is something that no other experience but travel can give you. It is important to view a big trip as an investment in your own life. Treat it with the same respect and dedication you would if you were buying a brand newest product that you one time saw on Instagram.

I have been searching for insurance coverage for weeks now and I can't find a single plan that includes maternity coverage (not even the hospital stay for the birth) I live in colorado and I am currently not pregnant and I currently don't have insurance.
