Gray Rat snake (Pantherophis spiloides) in my mud room last night. Eventually I was able to move him/her along. A seemingly healthy population of this threatened species near my cottage.

The Canadian Government Violently Seized 95 Raccoons from Expert Volunteers. 

On September 26th, The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources used taxpayer money to send 40 to 50 armed agents and a HELICOPTER to violently seize 95 raccoons from volunteers at Mally's 3rd Chance Raccoon Rescue.

Based on new info, staff at Mally's have good reason to suspect the baby raccoons are now being used for LAB TESTING and research. Another beluga whale has died at Marineland, bringing the number of whales that have died at the Niagara Falls, Ont., tourist attraction to 15 over the past four years. The province’s Animal Welfare Services has been investigating Marineland since it took over animal cruelty enforcement in 2020. “The ministry is aware of the death of a beluga whale and a sea lion at Marineland,” Brent Ross, a spokesman with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, wrote in an email.

I'm very familiar with this neck of the woods, though, and something looked out place, so I took a good close look through the camera lens and spotted this White-tailed deer.

clumsy rookie news photographer chasing after a gentleman thief to start an advice column ^_^

the thiefs legit job as a librarian doesnt pay enough to cover his rent (not enough public funding?), so he steals from rich politicians.

he kind of sees it as "hitting two birds with one stone," since the politicans are more interested in infrastructure than public funding anyway, and they have more than enough money so he doesn't feel bad doing it

since its done out of necessity, the thief is extremely meticulous and plans out his thefts. but hes also a theatre kid, so he makes a costume and more or less garners the attention of the community

the rookie is a newspaper photographer who has been following the thief for some time and has grown to admire him

the newspaper he works for is community oriented (organizing events and programs, advocating for the public) and believes the thief shares similar values

basically he proposes to start an advice column with the thief to build a rapport with the community, with the goal of winning over the public

the thief is hesitant because he's really only doing it for himself and doesnt want to get anyone else involved, but the rookie tells him to think of it as a way of helping everyone

the rest is kinda fuzzy.. i wanted to touch on community effort and public interests. I don't know if this will be the kind of story that encourages people to take action, I don't see myself as being any kind of model citizen. for now I'm just focused on pouring all my thoughts and faith in humanity into a story setting

The Canadian National Exhibition presented a live action Sailor Moon show on its C.N.E. Kids World Feature Stage all summer long, twice a day at 12:30pm and 3:30pm, for the duration of the fair.

Samantha Bee was a struggling Canadian actor when she was hired to star as Sailor Moon in the summer of 1996.

Aside from lip syncing songs and dancing in costume, Bee was obligated to sign autographs and pose for photos with the kids.

i wish more ppl i knew were furries/openly into furry stuff bc ive been getting rlly back into that whole thing but im so turned off of the community just bc of the sheer amount of questionable people over there so nobody around me apart from a few ppl are enjoyers of this stuff :( if i was able to gush about my silly little animal guys more i think i would be unstoppable
