"TOXIC LESBIANS LETS GOOOOOOOOO!!! Ok so both singers are reflecting on their mistakes in the relationship and how they can't go back. how their relationship is too far damaged and they no longer feel comfortable together. How they miss what they used to have. the ending part when their voices mirror each other back and forth as they start to reach acceptance is absolutely haunting. the music video truly elevates the song to new heights by embodying the title, "Miseen" which refers to "Mise-en-scène" aka the way stage design/camera perspective impacts your production. The music video manipulates the "camera" in multiple ways first with the couple watching their past play out on a movie screen, and then by switching in perspective angles so the viewer is looking from the outside in. In the second act, the viewer is as helpless as the girls in watching the events unfold. it's in the small details like how white-hair girl was berated for not being "proper" enough but in the present has switched from formal wear to comfortable casual clothes and an open seating position, whereas the black hair girl remains more poised and in a more formal dress because that's how SHE wants to be but she was forcing the other to change. And of course the climax at "our loved became poison" when all pretenses of civility are off and they tackle each other to the floor, yelling and tearing at each other's hair. The way the song becomes ERUPTS in energy and then immediately calms down because it's over. Or, at least, white hair girl realizes it's truly over. There's nothing left to salvage. "If only we could come to understand each other." The power in choosing to walk away from an abusive relationship instead of trying to fight for something that is only hurting you. ugh. ugh. ugh. Anyone who has been in a toxic relationship needs to absorb this song and music PV into their soul. If I see one person say they are sisters im destroying this website."
