whatever it is, nami and zoro are still canonically the two of "romance dawn trio" and considering how horrendous the male mangakas are at writing romantic endings for their female characters, i'd take that over nami actually being paired up with anyone at this point.

bc even if nami is sidelined post time-skip, at least she still has a dream and a purpose to draw a map of the world, instead of sharing her fate with the majority of the manga protagonists' love interests who are reduced to being housewives and mothers in the end...

tbh, don't have any hope that nami will be given much justice in manga or anime, but netflix live action is a different story, so i do hope that netflix won't let mackenyu and emily's electric chemistry go to waste and lets them interact throughout the series.

Oh Romance Dawn Trio, we're really in it now, aren't we... Like I pointed out in a previous post, the "making choices" narrative literally goes into several directions (as literally stated by Luffy himself here). And aside from the fact the closeness and willingness between these three is absolutely killing me, it's so tragic to see all these parallels between all the strawhats, these little anecdotes, events, similarities that they all share, the string of fate meeting the element of choice, want meeting need, dreams meeting necessities. It hurts. And at the same time it's absolutely beautiful. I know episodes 7 and 8 will be heartbreaking, but I absolutely cannot wait to see Nami get that unconditional support from her crew. She herself is already giving it to them as well, in her own ways - and she's not even aware of it yet.

Live action Zonami has me in a chokehold again. so here a few fic/writers rec i found when i was literally on the hunt for some Zona goodness.youre welcome. (also my reads are not centered anymore on the number of kudos or favorite so it may not be the most 'popular fic' based on the filter on the site but for me, it's still the most enjoyable to read and re-read in term of writing, characterization, dscription, prose...and so on)

all of their Zona fic is good. more than good, gone re-read this masterpiece of The Bounty cause now i have real sexy people to better imagine in the fic --> by dreamsinwords001

a part of their works is in italian (but almost all of their fic is translated by the author themselves) very good and smutty one shot (very well written, in a way that it doesnt focus on the act himself - and you dont feel like a voyeur- but you still feels the sensuality of the scene ). also dont care if its in italian, there're two long fic that hadnt been traanslated - yet - and i use google translate to read it.yep.

every one-shots again by Itsthemooface- (they also have nice sanami fic if youre into that) and shoot-out to Delayed (modern au where luffy is the matchmaker, kind of, in his own silly way) and Patience is a virtue, the mechanic AU you didnt know you wanted.

Zonami filthy smut by a Zo*an author, quite good. (not a one shot where you have any build-up before emotional angst or sentimental grumpy people who dont know how to communicate their feelings, so yeah, a PWP, be warned)

it's a perfect one-shot.

zoro having nami on his mind? being curious about her? nami hesitantly opening up about her trauma? the intimacy? and they feel so in-character (considering this is opla fic, not manga/anime one).
