Boost Productivity with SharePoint Online Optimisation: A Complete Guide
In today's fast-paced business environment, maximising productivity is essential for staying ahead of the competition. For many organisations, SharePoint Online has become a cornerstone of their digital workplace, offering a comprehensive solution for collaboration, document management, and team communication. However, simply adopting SharePoint Online is not enough—optimising its features is key to unlocking its full potential and ensuring that your team works more efficiently. This guide dives into how to optimise SharePoint Online for maximum productivity and streamlined operations.
1. Customise Your SharePoint Online Environment
A well-organised and user-friendly environment is crucial to enhance productivity. Customising SharePoint’s home pages and dashboards ensures that employees spend less time navigating complex structures. By tailoring the homepage to display key documents, important tasks, and essential team resources, you can simplify access to the most frequently used content.
2. Leverage SharePoint Libraries for Efficient Document Management
SharePoint’s document libraries are central to managing content within an organisation. Properly organising these libraries using metadata and tags ensures that documents are easy to search, retrieve, and collaborate on. Optimising these libraries helps in managing version control and enables seamless document sharing and updates.

3. Enable Cross-Team Collaboration with Microsoft Teams Integration
SharePoint Online is deeply integrated with Microsoft Teams, which enhances collaboration across departments, teams, and even external stakeholders. By syncing SharePoint document libraries with Teams channels, employees can collaborate in real-time, access relevant documents without switching platforms, and track project progress more efficiently.
4. Streamline Workflows with Power Automate
One of the most powerful features of SharePoint Online is its integration with Microsoft Power Automate. With Power Automate, you can automate repetitive tasks like approval workflows, document routing, and notifications. By reducing the manual intervention in routine processes, organisations can significantly reduce errors and save valuable time.
5. Ensure Data Security and Compliance
In today’s data-driven world, security and compliance are paramount. SharePoint Online offers robust security features, including permission settings, user roles, and audit logs, to help businesses safeguard sensitive data. Optimising SharePoint’s security settings ensures that only the right people have access to specific information.
6. Optimise for Mobile Use
With a growing mobile workforce, SharePoint’s mobile compatibility is a game changer. By ensuring that your SharePoint Online sites are mobile-optimised, employees can access content, collaborate on projects, and share documents from anywhere—helping to boost productivity, especially for remote teams.
7. Utilise SharePoint Search for Enhanced Discoverability
One of the most valuable tools in SharePoint Online is its search functionality. By fine-tuning your SharePoint search settings, you can make it easier for employees to find relevant documents, lists, and resources. An optimised search function ensures that employees spend less time searching and more time on productive tasks.
8. Monitor and Analyse SharePoint Usage
To understand the impact of SharePoint optimisations, it’s important to track how users are interacting with the platform. SharePoint Online provides analytics tools that can help organisations monitor user activity, content usage, and overall engagement. This data is invaluable for identifying areas that need improvement and optimising workflows.
9. Embrace Versioning and Document History
Version control in SharePoint Online allows users to keep track of changes to documents and revert to previous versions when necessary. This feature is particularly useful for teams that collaborate on documents, ensuring that no important information is lost and that everyone is working from the most up-to-date version.
Conclusion
Optimising SharePoint Online is not just about enhancing the platform’s functionality—it’s about creating a seamless, efficient, and secure environment where employees can collaborate, share resources, and manage documents with ease. By customising the interface, integrating with other Microsoft tools, automating workflows, and ensuring strong security practices, businesses can significantly boost productivity and improve overall operational efficiency.
Remember, SharePoint Online’s real power lies in its flexibility and ability to be customised to meet the unique needs of your organisation. Take the time to optimise it for your business, and you’ll unlock its true potential to drive productivity and foster a collaborative workplace.

There’s a couple of things happening on the information technology side of the veterinary industry at the moment:
Practice owners are increasingly aware that they need an online presence (website plus social media), but most of them have minimal interest in actually making one because they want to focus on patients. You know, the work they signed up for in the first place.
Various tech companies sell packages to most vet practices doing some or all of this, including ‘writing SEO optimised articles for your website’.
While many of those articles were copy-paste, now they are often ‘unique’ which looks more and more AI generated.
At best, this looks like shoddy articles written for a machine instead of for people. At worst it generates information which is not current or outright false. In the middle, you get articles reminding you to brush your bird’s teeth.
So I find myself wondering if it’s even worth the effort to write informative content and it mostly feels like it doesn’t. Not compared to how fast and easily AI stuff can be churned out. Seriously, there are so, so many articles and videos out there about how to use AI to automate content generation or digital shops… it’s depressing.
But it probably is still worth writing things because it’s always been worth trying to combat misinformation. It’s just that misinformation and weird information can be generated so much more rapidly.
And I realise that whatever I put out on the internet might be chopped up and rearranged in the AI blender, but somebody has to keep telling the internet that you don’t have to brush your bird’s teeth.

I know you generally work fast but I'm curious on how long on average it takes for you to get out a page of ThUG? I haven't had the opportunity to read it yet (it looks SO good) but I'm making the assumption a page is the size of an average print comic style versus webtoon scroll episode length format. Also curious on what short cuts you might take to get them out faster/more efficiently. I'm currently planning a comic in a similar format and am trying to plan my process ahead.
Thank you!
I don't do whole pages in one go (I do all the thumbnails then all the lineart then all the colour) so it's hard to tell exactly how long but maybe around 3-6h per page? Which makes a chapter (25-30 ish pages) take around 150 ish hours. I definitely prefer this to the webtoon format for a number of reasons, one of which being the satisfaction you get seeing a bunch of panels come together versus having to scroll through them separately.
In terms of speed, my entire process is pretty optimised for it, both in comics and outside. I stick to an A5 format and downsize it further (I tend to work with pages at 1000px width and 300dpi) to keep myself from overworking details. If an eye closeup feels tiring to get right or loses proportion, my resolution is too high

I also use textured brushes and leave the lineart more like a clean sketch, which allows me to not only skip straight from thumbnails to it but also to skip work on backgrounds, objects and figures at a certain distance

The main point of comic work is to convey emotions, movement, etc, not to draw everything accurate all the time, and that's probably the biggest lesson I've learned over the past years. You want your art to evolve in a way that means even without a lot of shading/linework/detail the scene gets properly conveyed, imo
Aside from that, I skip work on SFX and just. Write the sounds down or sketch motion lines as basic as they get. That's a stylistic choice but it works for me. And I have a workspace + automated actions + keyboard shortcuts that are all sort of optimised to make me move as little as possible between tasks and screens etc

Russell Wants Automated FIA Safety System To Suspend F1 Races After Accidents
George Russell wants Formula 1 to implement an "automated" safety system to suspend racing after incidents where crashed cars are stranded on track, as the Mercedes driver was in Melbourne.
Russell was left screaming for the race to be stopped after his wrecked W15 had bounced back onto the track and come to rest on its side following a crash while chasing Fernando Alonso. The aftermath of the crash caused considerable concern amongst F1 fans and observers, given the danger. Although the live broadcast cut to Russell's accident as it was progressing, once he had come to a stop it appeared to take a long time before the virtual safety car system was activated, and when it did the Mercedes had already been passed by Aston Martin's Lance Stroll. He had to be hurriedly warned by his now former race engineer Ben Michell, who from the Suzuka weekend is acting solely as Aston's head of performance optimisation, as Stroll was approaching the crash site near-blind due to the high-speed nature of the corner where the incident occurred. That knowledge was part of Russell's response over his own team radio in trying to get the race stopped, as was motorsport's tragic recent history where junior drivers Anthoine Hubert and Dilano van 't Hoff were killed after their crashed cars were then struck again in high-speed accidents at Spa. When asked by Motorsport.com if he wanted a new safety system to be implemented to avoid such a situation being repeated in the future, Russell replied: "It was an incredibly uncomfortable position to be in. You're on a blind bend, 250 kilometers an hour, right on the racing line with the car half-upside down, waiting for disaster to happen. Fortunately I had a ten second gap behind me, and I think it was ten or twelve seconds before the virtual safety car came out, but in the space of ten seconds you can have five, six, seven cars if that was on lap one of the race, and probably would have been hit numerous times, even with the yellow flag. We've seen close incidents before where a car comes back; Carlos in 2022 in Japan. I think we need to find a way that, if a car is in a danger zone, automated VSC straight away, within half a second or so, because those seconds count. Lives are at risk. We've seen it at Spa numerous times in the past, cars aquaplaning. I think it's time, with the technology that we have, to make steps in this area." The incident is currently under review by the FIA, which Motorsport.com understands will lead to a major change to the corner concerned for the 2025 Australian GP. It is also understood that, in regard to Russell's wishes for an automated process being put in place as part of a safety system update to cover such incidents, the governing body feels its existing procedures functioned as required in this instance. A yellow flag digital board display was activated 1.2 seconds after Russell hit the barrier, which then became waved double yellows-including physical flags being shown by nearby marshals-5.7 seconds after the crash started. Once 8.1 seconds had passed, the zone of track leading up the crash site had been placed into double yellow status, which is also transmitted to the driver via audio signals and cockpit displays for each car. It has also been suggested that a compounding and significant optics problem in this situation is that it takes several seconds from the VSC system being activated in race control for it to be displayed on TV broadcast graphics.

Excerpt from Sustainability by Numbers:
When it comes to clean energy technologies, China is crushing it.
It dominates the supply chain of the main energy minerals. It’s not only rolling out solar power rapidly at home, it’s also exporting huge amounts of solar panels elsewhere. Take a look at the chart [above], which shows solar PV exports from China to the rest of the world.Increasingly, these panels are going to low-to-middle income countries who are hungry for energy, and will go after whatever’s cheap: that’s Chinese solar.
It produces three-quarters of the world’s batteries. Its largest EV carmaker, BYD, is producing high-quality electric cars for as little as $10,000, and is growing rapidly in many markets across the world. BYD is now targetting the domestic battery market. CATL, the world’s largest battery manufacturer, is pushing the limits of battery technologies, with claims that it can add 300 miles of charge in just 5 minutes (I have some doubts about battery degradation, but I’d obviously love this to be true). The list goes on.
European and American manufacturers are being left in the dirt. One response has been protectionist policies: slapping on tariffs and implementing import quotas. A few newsletters ago, I argued that these were not good interventions if the goal was to increase the number of energy jobs in European and American markets. That’s because most clean energy jobs are in deployment and maintenance rather than manufacturing, and since higher costs slow down the rollout of renewables, increasing prices reduces the total number of people working in clean energy (even if the number working in manufacturing increases).
China mainly dominates these markets because it has produced a long-term industrial strategy for these technologies and has honed an optimised, modern supply chain as a result.
The notion that China’s manufacturing output is purely the result of some centralised, governmental program is misguided; it has developed an incredibly competitive market with companies fighting for any edge to cut prices and beat competitors. The solar and battery industries are pretty brutal to be in, with slim margins.
Since China also refines a lot of the minerals and smaller components, its supply chains can become incredibly integrated, which also makes them more optimised.
The second big chunk is labour costs. Now, it’s undeniable that wages in the US are higher than they are in China. But this is not necessarily because Chinese salaries are abysmally low. Yes, they are low by American or European standards, but wages for factory roles are often higher than they are in the US’s southern neighbour, Mexico.
The biggest factor in labour costs is automation. The US uses six times as many workers per GWh (I initially found these numbers pretty shocking and hard to believe), so it’s not surprising that labour costs much more. China has invested heavily in automation, meaning many processes run with very little human input.
This is something else to keep in mind when considering the case for “bringing manufacturing jobs home.” There’s certainly scope for this, but it is at odds with the fact that low costs often rely on automation, not human labour. Especially with the growth of artificial intelligence, some manufacturing jobs could be increasingly vulnerable.

Personal Branding
Professionals and entrepreneurs are increasingly using AI-powered personal branding tools to craft compelling bios, automate content creation, and engage with audiences more effectively.
B2B Strategy
In a competitive market, B2B branding strategy supported by AI helps teams personalise outreach, understand client behaviour, and build stronger relationships.
Getting Started With AI Integration
Adopting AI doesn’t require a tech overhaul. Start with tools you may already be using:
Leverage Smart Features: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Canva now include AI suggestions, writing assistants, and design tools.

Optimising Revenue with Smart Dynamic Pricing for Hotels
Mastering Dynamic Pricing Strategies for Accommodations
Learn how dynamic pricing can transform your room revenue. Discover proven strategies, tools, and tips to master real-time rate optimisation.
In the ever-evolving world of hospitality, pricing is more than a number — it’s a strategy. With customer behaviour and market conditions changing in real time, static pricing models not the right choice to improve profitability. That’s where Dynamic Pricing comes in.
This blog will help you understand what dynamic pricing is, why it’s vital for Hotel Industry, and how to implement it effectively to maximise Revenue and Profitability.
What Is Dynamic Pricing?
Dynamic pricing means fluctuations in the price points depending on various factors like Seasonality, Demand Levels, Market Condition, Socio-economic situation, Weather Forecast, etc. All the other Rates are derived from the parent rate. When we fluctuate the parent rate, all the rate plans connected to the parent rate plan will update automatically.
Latest trends shows offline Travel Agents & Negotiated Corporate clients are also moving to Dynamic Pricing model.
Benefits of Dynamic Pricing
Maximise ADR over High Demand days/period
Maximise RevPAR through Occupancy over Low Demand days/period
Time saving- update only parent rate plan, all the derived rate plans will update automatically
Low probability of making a mistake while updating Price Points
Key Factors That Influence Pricing
Pricing decisions should be based on data-driven insights. Key variables include:
Demand trends (holidays, events, weather)
Booking windows (how far in advance people book)
Competitor pricing (Monitor fluctuating price points)
Inventory levels (room availability)
Market segments (Corporate vs Leisure, Groups vs FIT, Social vs Business)
Proven Dynamic Pricing Strategies for Hotels & Rentals
✅ Use Price Sensitivity to Guide Changes
Understand how price-sensitive your guests are. For example, leisure travellers are more responsive to discounts, while business travellers may prioritise convenience over cost.
✅ Set Rate differentiated Pricing
Create and Implement Retail Pricing Strategy to cater to a larger target Audience. Example:
Advance Purchase Rate with non-refundable cancellation policy at a discounted Rate for Early bookers.
Minimum LOS Rate at a discounted Rate for bookers staying for a longer stay.
Value add-ons Add Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Spa, etc to create a value Package
✅ Monitor Competitor Pricing
Monitoring Competitor Price Point fluctuations gives us an indication of the Market Demand Levels. Automated Rate Shopping Tool helps the Hotels to keep a close watch on Competitor Pricing behaviour.
Conclusion
Mastering dynamic pricing is about being proactive, strategic, and data-driven. When done right, it empowers you to:
Maximise RevPAR
Improve profitability during both peak and off-peak periods
Whether you’re managing a boutique hotel, a resort, or short-term rentals, embracing dynamic pricing is critical.
