just to be clear, no matter the poll results i will be working on-and-off on smaller fics + my essays* and such anyway - the option is just there if people would be more interested in having shorter/less involved works more often, rather than just a scattering of one-shots for however long it takes me to wrangle a Project to somewhere i'm happy with to share it. * the essays are happening and will be happening, independently of whatever ends up happening with my fic writing, as well. it will again just boil down to focus and available research/writing time.

Jason was pretty certain he'd just end up working for his father in the end, but Ivy had managed to convince him that it was worth at least trying to find his work experience somewhere else. He had basically expected the crappy intern jobs - coffee runs, sorting files, and generally trailing after competent employees like some kind of lost puppy. What he hadn't expected, however, was for Peter goddamn Simmonds to have landed a co-op position at the same company.

A few days. Somehow, letting Lucas crash on Matt's couch for a few days turned into buying Lucas new clothes, turned into cleaning him up and helping with the job search. Which then turned into Matt making Lucas dinner and letting Lucas make him dinner in return, until dinner was a combined effort and light-hearted arguments about organizational systems. And it wasn't until their closets blurred together and Lucas started helping to pick out new drinking glasses that either of them realised they'd be happy if a few days lasted forever.

of course there's a lot of tension in the in-between stage where they're trying to figure out how to incorporate into each other's lives again, but eventually they end up falling into a cute domestic routine

there's something there in lucas and matt forgiving each other for the roles they played in/the ways they contributed to the general disaster that was their senior year (but Jason's suicide in particular)

Peter Simmonds understood the importance of following the rules imposed by the coven, really he did. But even so - something about the bright spots the stained glass windows of the church reflected onto the wet ground drew him in.

All Lucas could hear when he woke up was his alarm clock. ‘Why is the clock so loud’ he thought trying hard to remember what exactly happened last night.

He frantically fukmbked around the his nightstand to turn off the clock. Only once he turned the clock off did he realize his splitting headache and just how bright everything around him was. ‘Fuck’ he thought ‘guess I can’t party like I used to anymore’. He finally reached for his phone to check the time when he noticed the January 1st staring right at him, he knew exactly what went down the night before.

Just than a few knocks could be heard a his door. he beckons them in and is greeted by a very soft “Good Morning babe,” Lucas can’t help but groan in pain, every sound seems to be about 6 times louder than it should be.

“God Matty, not so loud,” he complains as opens his eyes to see his husband walking in with a mysterious pink liquid. “Matty what in God’s name is that shit”

He hears Matt laugh “Okay one I’m gonna pretend like I didn’t hear that,” now at this Lucas can’t help but chuckle. He always knew he wasn’t a good catholic and Matt would always jokingly remind him of this. it was his sort of way of saying I love you. “and two, this is my family’s secret hangover cure.”

Now that had Lucas laughing so hard it hurt, Matt’s family was about the most stuck up, no fun, catholic family he’d ever meet. “Okay I’ve meet your family, how is there a Lloyd family hangover cure?”

Matt looks back to Lucas and shakes his head “Never said it was a Lloyd family secret, it’s form my mothers “very Irish” side of the family.”

Lucas gives Matt one more questioning look. “And why not use the cure I taught you.”

“Because, mine actually works,” Matt hands Lucas the drink and give him a very insistent look “Now drink up, we’re meeting the other for lunch.”

Lucas take a final look at the drink and chugs it down. “if this makes me throw up you’re sleeping on the couch until February,” he says trying to be threatening, while Matt just leans down and kisses him on his for head.

Well I call them Mucas idk I feel like that’s a bit more fitting lol. 

So for some weird reason I get the vibe that Lucas starts by doing some dumb thing like putting his head on Matt’s shoulder when he’s tired or something Matt gets very confused because you know, he’s fucking Matt and is all “no homo” about it. 

But I feel like after Matt sees Peter and Jason in Best Kept Secret and goes to Father Flynn he starts having second thoughts about Lucas and he’s like “oh hey maybe I do like him” but he doesn’t wanna let anyone know, especially Lucas. 

I think that after Jason’s death he starts to realize that bottling that shit up is just going to hurt him and he tells Lucas that he likes him and it’s very sweet because Lucas likes him too. 

Also their first date went horribly and they insisted on “redoing” it you can’t change my mind about that.
