If you enjoy hockey romance novels and/or hrpf and u haven't read heated rivalry and the long game yet..!! pls. Stop depriving yourself of good great best things. Ilya Rozanov is the best character ever written. and Shane Hollander is precious.
Genuinely my main thing with the Watcher thing (I watch their stuff but I’d never consider myself a die hard fan) is that I really want to see the back end projections and business plans that went into this. Show me how their math mathed to the point that this seemed not just viable, but an improvement upon YouTube at this moment in time.
I’ve been watching it unfold all day and seeing the comparisons to Dropout, the unfortunate optics of reinstating the “let’s go eat stupidly expensive stuff” show as your first big new thing for the platform while also saying you don’t have money to do the “TV-quality” things you want, all that’s fine and dandy and not incorrect. But I just can’t see how this is financially going to win out.
I wish the boys the best, hope it works out for their sakes, and I hope regardless that one day we get an idea of what the decision making process was. Not the vague “ad revenue ain’t what it used to be” type comments they made in their very not-reading-the-room announcement video, but actual numbers. I’m super interested.
RYAN CANNOT SAY "We're very close right now... this is the closest I've ever seen your face... and I like it" TO SHANE WHILE LOOKING DEAD STRAIGHT INTO HIS EYES AND EXPECT US TO BE OKAY AFTER THAT
AND THEN BE AWKWARD WHEN SHANE AND GARRETT SHARE A LITTLE MOMENT, LIKE
RYAN???
he CAN say that because he is fully insane!!! the little smooch opportunity was Right there and honestly it wouldn't have read as out of place in that moment...
any time garrett is involved the flirting and jealousy and tension are OFF THE CHARTS fr.
When I started the comic I actually went to a lot of effort to keep Shane as on model/game accurate as possible. But clearly there has been some drift, and I'm actually ok with that, since it shows I'm getting more confident in my own art skills and style.
I always take it super personally when people say they hate Shane because I feel like that character got me through like the first years of my twenties.
Gus recently bought a dance machine for his establishment and put it in the corner with arcade games. The owner of the Saloon after the purchase doubted that the dance game would pay off. But all his doubts vanished the next evening, when the main A.S.S. trio (Abigail, Sebastian and Sam) along with the Farmer dance Macacena by Girty Team. In line will be Robin, who persuaded Demetrius to practice dancing to Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen. Shane sits at a table, sometimes looking at the arcade machine and deciding if he had drunk enough to dance Kulikitaka by Toño Rosario in front of everyone. Elliott, depending on the amount of ale he drinks, will either invite Leah to Havana (tango version) by Camilla Cabello, or else he will fall down trying to dance Rasputin by Bonnie M. From now on, the Saloon will be filled every Friday with laughter, music, dancing and the sounds of falling. Gus laughs and sometimes jokes that soon the place will be called a cabaret.
