Alice, who was both feeling the need to hibernate from her instincts and pretty tired anyway, curled up on the ground for a nap while Victor Transportalated himself into a nearby toilet (he still had to go after all) and Smiler went over and tended some of the plants in the nearby study (poor things needed watering). They then went upstairs to observe the sky for a bit and play MySims Go on one of the research computers, because they didn’t have anything better to do here. XD (Though they did get up to Video Gaming Level 9!) Victor, meanwhile, ate some of his honey for a snack, then started searching for tomes. I was kind of hoping to find a potion recipe book –

But instead he found a familiar orb of the dragon! :D So now he had the familiar that I wanted him to have! I still need to bind it to him, but at least the darn thing is in his inventory now! Yaaay!

-->However, finding familiars wasn’t Victor’s reason for dropping by the Magic Realm – challenging people to magical duels was! And the first person to come near him after he found his orb was one Emilia Ernest. I had Victor introduce himself and challenge her to a friendly spar – she accepted, and they had a battle in the pit in the front foyer. It was a tough fight, but Victor ended prevailing and getting the win! :D One out of three duels set! Being gracious in victory, I had him give Emilia a compliment for being a good sport. :) He then grabbed some apples from the nearby apple tree and napped for a bit to regain his energy (which was NOT looking good, poor guy), while Alice woke up from HER nap outside, had a nice Feral Run to improve her fitness, then got herself some water before using one of the bathrooms (both to relieve herself and to privately lick herself clean without people complaining). She ate some strawberries to soothe her rumbling tummy, then headed off to the observatory to spy on the neighbors (which – didn’t yield anything, as no neighbors)...

Oregon stood outside of the director's office, trying to slow down her breathing. Meetings with the Director were always stressful, but this one probably had to be the worst. She had walked into the office about an hour ago, expecting some new mission or an assignment to a simulation base, so she was shocked to hear that the director had moved her to the top of the implantation list, and she was to report to medbay ASAP. Now that she was thinking about it, maybe it was a bad idea to just stand here and panic, if some of the medics were expecting her to arrive soon. So, after taking one more deep breath, she walked to medbay, and tried to distract herself from the anxiety spike that she was dealing with.

"You are Agent Oregon, Correct?"

She nods her head. "Yes."

The medic writes something down on a datapad. "As you hopefully know, you are here for an A.I implantation. Do you understand what the process for that is?"

"You place the A.I chip into my implant, and then watch me for a few hours to make sure there are no adverse effects, right?"

"That is exactly what we are going to do," The medic almost seems surprised at Oregon's explanation of the process. They type a few more things out before gesturing to a table. "Please lay down here so we can begin the implantation process."

Oregon nods and lays down, preparing herself for what was about to happen. She had heard stories about how the implantation could mess with someone's head for a while, so she wanted to keep her thoughts as clear as possible. Who knows, maybe it could help the A.I adapt better. Feeling a gloved hand on her neck, she closed her eyes, and waited for the the A.I to slot in place.

Five hours after the implantation, Oregon was released with a bottle of ibuprofen and orders not to do anything to strenuous for a few days. She intended to follow those orders, because her head hurt like hell. Her thoughts turned to the A.I causing the headache. It had been pretty quiet, which came as a shock to her.

"Why is that shocking? Maybe I just didn't want to talk around all those people."

Oregon jumped at the voice. "Oh shit, you started me."

"I can tell." If an A.I. could roll its eyes, this one would have.

"Asshole." Oregon muttered under her breath, before speaking up again. "Do you have a name or designation or whatever?"

The A.I. projected itself from her armor. It tilted its head and looked over at the leaderboard before speaking. "The name is Zeta."

i wanted to talk about these characters without having to make separate posts for each of them, so i decided to throw them all in a single post hoping it sticks!

the ATHENA residents are “secondary” astro-garden characters that will continuously appear in excerpts, birthplace talks, and every other post i make.
