Hey there! Got a couple general questions:

- Is it ideal to get in contact via Tumblr messages, or through another platform such as Email and Discord?

- I scrolled down this blog to make sure any questions I had weren’t already answered for the sake of you all’s convenience. This blog does crossposting with entires, I have read. Is it possible for me to opt-out of crosspost and only allow my entry posts on Tumblr?

I hope I can word this clearly as well-

Tumblr is where you’re mostly likely to get in touch with the mods! The ajin-secret-santa-2022 blog has multiple moderators which means that we unfortunately cannot use direct messages (whyyy, tumblr), but you can always send an ask, or communicate in DMs with the mods (origami10 and epic-potato-crisp) directly- that’s also how you’re likely to receive your assignment once it’s ready. If you or anyone else signing up prefer to get your assignment through discord, email, amino app, etc. just let us know in the “best way to contact me” section of the sign-up form.

And yep! It’s totally possible to opt out of cross-posting! (We actually planned to do more cross-posting last year, but… such is life.) All you have to do to opt out is select the “Please DON'T repost my gift on any social media including Tumblr, Twitter, and Instagram” option when filling out the sign-up form.

-> That said, we do now operate the event pretty much equally (and simultaneously) on tumblr and twitter, and to some degree Instagram and occasionally have participants from other online communities. Most of the cross-posting we’ve done up to this point was when someone was assigned a giftee but didn’t have an account on the same social media platform as that giftee when it came time to post and tag them. If you’re concerned about that, that does fall outside the scope of the regular sign-up questions, and would be important to note before we give you your assignment (and may affect how well we can fulfill the rest of your preferences), but let us know if that’s what you want, and we’ll be happy to accommodate you the best we can!

It’s that time once again!! AjinWeek 2024 will be held from July 28 to Aug 10. Posting for each set of prompts will be open for two days your local time zone (though of course you can post late!) Use 1, 2, 3 or even 0 of the themes, and tag #AjinWeek24 to participate!

The event is being held both and tumblr and twitter (and Instagram if we get really motivated). Twitter is @ajinsanta and Instagram is @ajinsecretsanta (yes, the accounts there get used for both ajinweek and ajin secret santa).

The three prompt tracks this year are the Seven Deadly Sins (throwback to AjinWeek15!), Body Parts, and the Chinese Zodiac.

Post art, fanfiction, edits, crafts, rambling thoughts, crack theories, anything! This is your chance to go wild and celebrate Ajin!

very excited to share some keikaikou tomfoolery with my giftee, @origami10 @oreigano!! you wanted neon high contrast colours, and for some reason that made me think of kaito (specifically his earrings) and then that made me think about claire’s (a jewelry and accessory store aimed at preteens), since that’s the kind of place that sells smiley face earrings. and so i chuckled at the thought of kaito and kou dragging kei to the store and kei initially not wanting to go because he thinks it’s dumb, but he ends up having a decent time!

definitely not used to using a neon-esque colour palette, but i had fun! hope you like it! happy holidays :)

AjinWeek24 fic (title TBD)

I was feeling bloodthirsty brainstorming for the week so it's all on the body theme, inspired by the worst things I could come up with.

Author’s note: I’m very sorry to anyone out there who actually knows anatomy reading this. You’ll probably be going “it doesn’t work like that!!” the whole time. I told myself I would study up on it but I haven't, and I wanted to just get this fic out there sometime before 2047. Also I’m very sorry to anyone reading this in general. This is verrrry much hurt/no comfort so if you’re not feeling it, hit that back button and try again later, or just leave, I don’t mind! Dead doves and all that, or dead… main characters. (Please picture origami10 holding a knife and grinning like Satou) My standard for what to write about this time was, if it makes me recoil in horror from having thought it up, that’s what I should write. You’ve been warned.

Day 1: Head

Apparently, the only thing Samuel T. Owen found more exciting than crashing planes into populated areas was torturing Kei personally.

And this time, he wasn’t playing games.

It was down in the sewer where Satou caught up to him. A tremor in the shadows materialized into the flat-topped head of Satou’s IBM, followed by Satou’s narrowed eyes glinting out of the darkness behind. No sooner than Kei could think “Ah, this is ba-“ was the hand of the creature around his throat, jetting him back up against the concrete wall. The impact to his head knocked stars into his vision, and in the brief span he was unconscious, the nearly invisible yet undeniably solid hands of the IBM had moved to pin his biceps back against the cold, rough stone.

“I always make good on my threats, you know.” Satou’s voice was sing-song, but not a single gleam of mirth showed in his eyes. “But, I don’t mind taking my time getting there.”

The IBM’s hands pressed over Kei’s arms like a vice. It faced him head on, and as it leaned its head closer and closer, to Kei’s horror, its flat top lifted to reveal a gaping snake mouth. The yawning maw drew closer and closer, filling his vision like a nightmare.

For something so stiff on the outside, the inside of its mouth as it closed over Kei’s head was as soft and pliable as any human flesh. That flat head slid down flush against the wall, forcing its way over the back of Kei’s head even as its lower jaw swallowed up his face. A more sober Kei might have been intrigued to note that the IBM wasn’t inhibited by the same bone structure that would limit a snake’s bite, but right now a full panic was overriding his usual rationality. Even if he had the reserves to produce his own IBM right now, Satou knew the trick now about attacking its head, and in these close quarters it’d be almost as useless as he was against Satou.

He was completely at Satou’s mercy. The jaws of the IBM closed over his neck.
