#osomatsu english dub

Sending this ask because I wanted to tell you I’ve started Mr. Osomatsu!
And I’m fucking loving it. Holy shit, I don’t know really what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t this (in the best way possible.) I’ve watched the first three episodes and I just had a big goofy smile on my face the whole time!!
Every time Karamatsu speaks I get jumpscared hearing Bruno’s voice 😭 it makes me so happy!! 😭 oh my god the things he says kill me. Do you know how much edit potential Karamatsu’s lines have??? I could just rip his audio and slap a picture of Bruno on it 😭
I’m watching the subs right now, but do you know where I can find the dubs? I’ve seen clips and I NEED to watch them. I’m having a hard time finding them...
OMG IM GLAD YOU ENJOY IT YAAAAAAYYY💙💙💙💙
Tumblr media
(If you can accept the insanity/stupidity it’s such a fun little show :>)
And I feel you on the voices part😂
I had the opposite effect when I watched part 5
I was like: „What is Karamatsu doing in my JoJo????“ i couldn’t believe my ears back then pffff
When I heard his voice I automatically see Karamatsu and since he and Bruno have such strong differences when I heard him it had me like: Woah 😳😳😳💦
Loved it (And the more you watch of the show the more you see Karamatsu could actually work as a JoJo character lol)
ALSO YES I HAD THE SAME THOUGHT MULTIPLE TIMES THAT I SHOULD MAKE BRUNO SAY HIS LINES LIKE I DID HERE:
Tumblr media
Gosh can you imagine a world where Bruno is super goofy, flirty and a try-hard cool guy?
„So you are finally here, Bucciarati Girls~“
Tumblr media
(You inspired me with new art ideas thank youuuuu💕✨)
As for the dub there is a reason why it’s so hard to find. From what I heard there were difficulties with the dubbing but I’m not fully sure of it💦
To my dear Oso-san fans can you help us out? Do you by any chance know where you can watch the Eng dub?

Things People Seem To Forget About Jyushimatsu Since I Can't Shut Up About Him:
•He knows how the stock market works (supposedly)
•He's protective of his older brothers, not the other way around.
•He has been shown playing board games with Todomatsu in Season 1 at least twice.
•He's either extremely good at art or extremely bad at art. There has been canonical evidence for both.
•He's not an "innocent baby". He can be naive at times, sure, but he is not 100% innocent like the fandom portrays him as for some reason.
•He's wearing swim trunks, not blue shorts.
•His body literally works in ways that???? Aren't human????? It's like one of his defining character traits why do people forget this??????
•He's been the "weird one" since Osomatsu-kun. It was just a lot more subtle back then.
•He's been shown to cross-dress a lot, both in the Osomatsu-san anime itself and outside of it.
•It's implied that even though he loves baseball, he doesn't actually know how to play it. And even when he does know how, he almost never plays it correctly.
•He can be incredibly violent at times.
•He's the only sextuplet to not have an in-series nickname. (as far as I'm aware of, but I could be wrong)
•Just like Karamatsu, Jyushimatsu inserts random English into his sentences. It's less prevalent in Season 2 and Season 3, though.

VIZ Media just put a bunch of official, complete anime on YouTube for free
Exactly what it says on the tin. Here's the link to the official article from Viz. There are ads* ofc but to be able to watch these for free in HD is a pretty big deal.
Note that they are all Japanese dub, English sub. (The subtitles are not YouTube captions but part of the video itself, for whomever it may concern)
Here's the current list w/ links to the official playlists:
Death Note (All 37 episodes)
Hunter x Hunter (Seasons 1-3, 148 episodes)
Inuyasha (COMPLETE SERIES W/ ALL THE MOVIES)
Mr. Osomatsu (Seasons 1 & 2, 50 episodes)
Naruto (Seasons 1-8, 220 episodes)
Sailor Moon (COMPLETE SERIES)
Handful of other movies, 4 of them are Inuyasha that's already been stated above but includes TIGER & BUNNY, K Missing Kings, Accel World, etc.
I hope this helps someone who's been wanting to watch one these shows! I know most people don't get news from Viz so I didn't want this to just go quietly under the radar because this is actually p nice to have in a world where you either have to pay for or pirate everything. I really hope they add more titles in the future!
*Also, they say ads but I use Firefox w/ uBlock and all the other anti-capitalist goodies and I've watched the first SM episode and gotten no ads so this may actually be an avoidable thing for a lot of us so like,,, go watch some free anime luv lmao
EDIT: I have been informed that this is not available in counties outside of America. Which isn't surprising but is disappointing. If someone w/ a VPN wants to let me know if they can work around this lmk and I'll update here.
EDIT 2: Quote from an Anon:
"Windscribe VPN on my phone worked for watching Viz media's anime uploads! I'm sure there's better and less limited free options but that's the one I found with a quick search to try it out. Haven't tried it on a laptop though so can't comment on it's viability there."
Tysm for letting me know Anon!!
EDIT 3: Via @eunbinppap
#one of protonvpn's free options is the us

hey so, i saw that one carrd you made with links for the osomatsu english dub and i was wondering if you also have links for other osomatsu/literally any akatsuka related media
I do! I’ve got most of 60s -kun and the entirety of 80s -kun + the first half of the Osomatsu-kun / Tensai Bakabon special in these Google drive accounts:
And this person here on Tumblr has the two other 80s Osomatsu-kun movies:
There’s a catch, though: none of these are subbed. Ever since I’ve made the initial post, however, I’ve been able to acquire an English subbed version of 80s Osomatsu-kun, minus the special and the two movies! I’ve also got the raws of the 90s and 00s Tensai Bakabon on me, and I think the other Tensai Bakabon series are also relatively easily available to track down.
I haven’t uploaded any of these anywhere yet but I’m planning on it along with the entirety of the Spanish Osomatsu-kun dub, which I also have on me! It takes a little bit of planning and organizing, though, but as soon as I do I’ll update and reblog the original post 👍

some sonic japanese va fun facts
i've been a huge fan of sonic since i was a kid. morever ever since my early teens i have been mostly preferring to go into the game settings and play the games in japanese voices. idk man i just really love the sub/japanese voices more than the english dub. anyways some sonic fun va where sonic characters share the same va as characters from various anime and other video games. starting with the trio of the 3 hedgehogs (sonic, shadow, and silver):
Jun'ichi Kanemaru - Sonic:
Tumblr media
>Mafuyu Hinasaki from Fatal Frame
Tumblr media
>Swiper from Dora (JP Dub)
>Ryo Akiyama from Digimon Tamers
Tumblr media
>Buhara from Hunter x Hunter
Tumblr media
>pat from handy manny (JP dub)
>Harley from the Pokemon anime
Tumblr media
>Henry from Thomas (JP dub)
Tumblr media
koji yusa - shadow the hedgehog (aka my 2nd favorite sonic character):
Tumblr media
>gin from bleach
Tumblr media
>baizhu from genshin impact (not a big genshin fan just wanted to mention this)
Tumblr media
>Nier from Nier Replicant and Nier Re[in]carnation
Tumblr media
>Noriaki Kakyoin from Jojo (that one jojo video game tho, not the anime series)
Tumblr media
>Urataros from Kamen Rider
Tumblr media
daisuke ono - silver the hedgehog:
Tumblr media
>jotaro kujo from jojo's bizarre adventure
Tumblr media
>jing yuan from honkai star rail (same thing with genshin dude, not really into honkai star rail but my brother likes that game and i just wanted to mention this fun fact)
Tumblr media
>kaze from fire emblem
Tumblr media
>jyushimatsu from osomatsu (not really into that show, just a fun fact)
Tumblr media
>nameless from kof
Tumblr media
>Sebastian from black butler
Tumblr media
>el fuerte from street fighter

1. Michealmatsu “i have to choke up on that bat” scene eng dub
2. “AHRRRGGAHGTFG…. You guys heard of vore?” eng dub
3. Jyushimatsu being walked like a dog
4. Jyushimatsu trying to kill karamatsu while dressed up as a giant baseball
5. Their creator, akatsuka, laughing at the matsunos from heaven while they try to crawl out of hell
6. JYUSHIMATSU COMIKET SCENE OH MY GOD
7. Choromatsu being walked in and then having awkward dinner with his brothers while osomatsu tries to tell him its ok that he masturbates while his other brothers tear the shit into him
8. Jyushimatsu festival in general
9. "Did i say fuck? Fuck 👁👁” eng dub
10. Jyushimatsu living out his dreams and being a dolphin
I dont like the english dub (bc of how bad they did jyushimatsu) but i will have to say. There are some great scenes there and like half of those great scenes involve billy kametz (rip)

Note
It's been a while since I watched the show, what's currently going on with it? How many seasons so far and is it still going on or has it ended. I think I stopped at Season 2 and remember that there was a movie.
So at current there are 3 seasons subbed, with the first two seasons having an English dub. There are actually three movies out as well (fourth one on the way this July in Japan). My prediction is if this latest movie does well in theaters, they'll make a fourth season. The movies are listed below (if you need a link to any of these, please hit me up I have resources for everything):
Tumblr media
Eiga no Osomatsu-san (Mr. Osomatsu: The Movie) - 2019
Tumblr media
Osomatsu-san the live action movie - March 2022
Tumblr media
Osomatsu-san: Hipipo-Zoku to Kagayaku Kajitsu (Mr. Osomatsu: The Hipipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit) - July 2022

(NOTE: This post was made 4 days late)
Happy 25th anniversary to Animax!
For those who don't know: Animax is a Japanese animation satellite television network owned by Sony that was launched on May 20th, 1998, dedicated to broadcasting anime programming. The channel also dubbed other cartoons in Japanese language. (source: Wikipedia)
Tumblr media
I also forgot to mention that Animax also has a sister channel: Kids Station, which was launched on April 12, 1993, making the channel 30 yrs old as I am writing this post. For those who don't know what it is, it's a Japanese children's television channel showing anime and other cartoon material. While children's programming is their primary demographic, they have also been known to air some teen and adult-oriented anime during the evening hours like Narutaru, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Mr. Osomatsu, Genshiken, Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden, Kujibiki Unbalance, and Rosario + Vampire. It is broadcast 24 hours a day on cable and satellite TV. (source: Wikipedia)
(It's more of a late anniversary post for the latter channel, since I didn't know that channel's existence at the time)
Animax is more known for its Southeast Asia channel that was launched on January 11, 2004 (19 yrs old soon to be 20 next year). It's, according to Wikipedia, a pay television channel in Asia owned by KC Global Media Asia that broadcasts Japanese language anime and Simulcast them through English language feeds in Southeast Asia sans Brunei, South Asia and East Asia. It was also the first television channel in Asia dedicated to anime.
Tumblr media
-------
Overall, Animax is the best place for not just anime, but also everything else that is broadcasting in Japan. In fact, I was thinking of using this network as the basis for my new series; Animax is the main character, followed by Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. Kids Station, Cartoonito/Boomerang, Nick Jr/Noggin, and Disney Jr will be their sisters. Crunchyroll and Aniplex (both also owned by Sony) are Animax's childhood friends, and that's as far as the characters goes. I'll start working on the webcomic at the start of June, and the series would be scheduled for launch in October 2023. As for the animated series, I think I would push it forward by 2 years, since I'm still working on animation. The name of the series would be titled Rebineru - a portmanteau of the Japanese romanizations of television (テレビ lit. terebi) and channel (チャネル lit. chaneru). I'm thinking that the premise of the series would be something akin to the Hyperdimension Neptunia games - 4 nations guarded by our main characters who are able to transform into their super forms via "shares" and fight off the series' main antagonists. (I might try to rework that later on though). Though this "anniversary" post came off as longer than I thought, since it was also a "development" post regarding my series, I made this as a way to remind Western anime fans about this channel's existence and how they feel about. It's not really popular outside of Japan or SEA, and even if it is brought up it's mostly about their poor-quality "dubs". Animax is a very underrated channel and I want it to see it get the love it deserves. Thank you all for reading this.

Watch List- Anime and Foreign Language Animation (Latest Update Aug. 4, 2024)
Non-English Animation watch list. I keep this one separate from general shows because I vary in whether i want to watch subs or dubs, not to mention the fact that some don't have a dub at all so I can't watch some of these as casually as I can a show in English.
Because of the sheer number of things I want to watch I’m separating my watch list posts into four categories. I keep them separate primarily for organization so I can decide what to watch based different variables (mood, time, language, etc)
I’m pretty much constantly adding things to all of my lists- hence why I’m amending when this was last updated to the title itself- and will update this post anytime I update the wheel I use to randomize my next choice, which usually happens after I’ve added or subtracted a significant number of options.

Hey dude, I followed you accidentally and stayed for the meme content but I must ask: what is Otomatsu? Is it current? Is it old? Is there a plot? I appreciate your enthusiasm for it but I honestly don’t know what is going on.
Oh! Osomatsu-kun (which could be translated into “Little Osomatsu”) is a manga that ran from the early 60s to the early 90s in Japan, written by Fujio Akatsuka, who’s sometimes referred to as the father of gag manga. It’s pretty slapstick and centers around the daily lives of the Matsuno brothers, who are identical sextuplets along with a supporting cast of characters such as Iyami, a local con man who’s always trying to swindle them out of their money, Chibita, a street urchin kid who’s always competing with them, Totoko, a short-tempered girl they have a crush on Dekapan, a mad scientist that exclusively wears boxers and nothing else, between others.
Tumblr media
This manga was aimed at kids and teens and was adapted into an anime twice: once in 1966 and once in 1988.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 2015, however, to celebrate Akatsuka’s posthumous 80th birthday, the manga was retooled into an anime again, this time named Osomatsu-san (also known as Mr. Osomatsu) and aimed at teens and adults. It again centers on the daily lives of the Matsuno sextuplets, who are now young adults with pretty distinct personalities from one another and chronically unemployed.
Tumblr media
It was a big commercial success so, in addition to the first season that was planned, it got a second season in 2017 and a third season in 2020 with the addition of a 2019 movie, a 2022 movie and a third movie planned for July 2023! Also, the first two seasons were dubbed in English in 2018 and 2019. So while Osomatsu-kun is old, Osomatsu-san is is pretty recent and there’s still content coming out! I talk a lot about it because Iyami is like… my favorite fictional character in anything ever, heh. The con man guy, I mean.
There’s not THAT much of a plot, though! -kun works kind of like Looney Tunes or Tom and Jerry cartoons do: the characters stay the same but the situation they’re in changes. So the characters might or might not already know each other, some stories are set in different time periods and the like. -san has slightly more of a continuity but marginally so.
