I was wondering if you or anyone has made this observation. Armand seems more antagonistic towards Daniel when Louis is in the room. First meeting there is a cold exterior business formality. Alone showing Daniel the diaries he seems almost softer, annoyed still, but approachable. The "lookin the mirror" outburst gave me whiplash. Why are you angry all of a sudden Armand? Even Louis was like wtf.

It happens present day and in the past too. Louis invites Armand to a threesome. He declines but he had to give a look didn't he? "No. Go on have your fun." Did he already have a piece of that? Is that why Louis is there too? <- may be reaching here a bit. But I can see him be petty investigative with this. Like Lestat put me through this. Not again.

Again is it me or is Louis also surprised. The cuck guy doesn't want to have a threesome with his husband?

I wonder what he's fronting.

My personal theory is that Louis wants to reunite Daniel and Armand with this interview, and he went and set it in motion, and Armand goes along with it, a bit stubbornly. And reluctantly. And maybe also unwilling, hence the Rashid-persona.

It would explain to me why he is so on edge (yes, I feel you there) when Louis is there also, and unable to help himself and be a bit softer when he is alone with Daniel.

I don't think he had a "piece of that" before the bar, I think that rejection of the offer was simply because Armand was fed up with it all at some point, too (and then goes to complain about it all to Lestat, lol, at least book canonically) - but him saving Daniel later changes everything.

And whatever happened to make them break up again left deep wounds in Armand. And these wounds have been ripped open again by Daniel's presence... wounds that start to bleed by continued proximity.

Yes, Louis seemed a bit surprised, but not... how do I put it... in an unexpected way? He knew how to handle it. And though the interview itself slips through his hands there at some point (or the control of the narrative) I think the intention of it, namely breaking through the walls between Armand and Daniel to reunite them succeeds, because the mask of Rashid drops away in the end.

So yes, agreed, there is a lot going on.

Daniel is Armand's only fledgling in the books. The emotional rollercoaster must be very real for him :)))
