Happy #socksunday 💜 B•O•O•K▪︎ R•E•V•I•E•W #aurorarising Rating: DNF (chapter 6) I was given fair warning by @thebookprescription about this book. But I've been on a sci-fi kick and LOVED Illuminae. So I wanted to give this one a try. To be fair, the premise sounded like it would be up my alley and I DID walk into it without any expectations. Kudos @thebookprescription for seeing it through till the end, cause quite frankly, I got tired of hearing about Tyler's dimples, killer smile, how hot he was and his scar on his right eyebrow. I lasted 6 chapters and could have sworn the story was titled Captain Hotness & his dimples. Seriously, there was not one chapter that didn't mention them. Or his good looks. Or his tousled hair. This could have been a great story, cause it was moving quite nicely with Auri, but it was those stupid dimples! They were annoying..like Steve Urkle level of annoying! Still wanna read this one? I LOVED #RedQueen and made the decision to read #GlassSword - but I have to say, @victoriaaveyard lost me in the process of writing this book... I’ve tried, but no matter how hard - I just can’t get back into that world... I felt lost at not just one, but MANY points in these books • • In the risk of going “political” and no matter how many followers I may “loose” SHE WENT political. So I'm stretching the rules today... #overhypedbooks and maybe it's just me, but I loved The Hunger Games books. They were perfectly written for the audience... They push young YA readers to really think about the importance of life, power, politics, and taking a stand. Sure they started a crazy hype for dystopian fiction, and many of those following stories were just blah... and so we tend to lump these with those, but I think The Hunger Games were totally worth all the hype... if I will forever be #teamgale . Day 15 of the #FanaticalBirdAugust book challenge is Overhyped book...I don't even have a real picture for this one today because I already sold this book back to a used bookstore.
