I love that this show which is usually pretty subtle about its symbolism, got to the final episode and decided to say, “Hey guys, luz means light in Spanish. Did you know luz means light? Cuz Luz is the light. Did you notice Luz is the light? I’m not sure they noticed Luz is the light, HEY LUZ IS THE LIGHT EVERYBODY! SHE’S THE LIGHT!”
The fact that in Luz’s nightmare all of her friends were mad at her- except Hunter, her brother, who was mournful and broken, meaning her worst nightmare is hurting him more- don’t touch me
Consider us wrecketh: The Owl House finale *spoilers*
WARNING: Spoilers for the finale of The Owl House follow, so please read at your own discretion.
Thank you, Owl House. We previously expressed the wish that this final episode of #the owl house, without a release date for so long, would never arrive. Sadly, however, it materialized on our collective screens just this weekend—with a series closer rather aptly-titled "Watching and Dreaming". There was a lot to cover in this finale, and the creators behind this beloved show faced a seemingly uphill battle to do justice to such a complex narrative, and wrap up its many, *many* threads. Against all the odds, it did just that, and with some considerable style and emotional heft, over these three, hour-long specials. Here we must doff our collective caps to showrunner Dana Terrace and the team behind The Owl House for delivering such a satisfying conclusion.
So it fills us with all kinds of complex, conflicting feelings that that really is it. Conversely, this, we suspect, is evidence that the wonderful team behind this precious show did such an exceptional job at wrapping it all up. It's been quite the ride, and it will be missed and cherished in equal measure. There is a fandom of fine folk here on Tumblr paying their own tribute with discourse, memes, and gifs galore.
