First time in-comic mentioning Jessiva & Dyna by name.
I've already mentioned Jessiva is Dr. Pipt's daughter from the 1914 film adaptation of Patchwork Girl of Oz and Dyna is Dr. Pipt's niece from Road to Oz. So, yeah. They're familiar with the powder of life.

Ok but like for the five people who read Dorothy Must Die, did anyone else think it was weird how Dorothy was hyperfeminineized? Like the girl was raised on a farm. Dorothy and the wizard of Oz knows what I’m talking about. It gave me the vibe that the author had a grudge against a Regina George in high school and make Dorothy like her. All I’m saying is that a more Tomboy Dorothy would be more in character.

i have seen so many youtube compilations of tv shows that end with the words "for x minutes straight" that think just adding the mii shop channel music over the whole video, including clips that also have music in them, makes the video funnier, that the mere first note of that fucking song is enough to send me into a blind fury

Hinton Battle was the original Scarecrow in The Wiz, Mabel King was the original Evillene* (in both the stage show AND the movie), and Tasha Thomas was the original Aunt Em.
*Evillene is the name of the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wiz, so this is a picture of two Wicked Witches of the West meeting (!!!!!!!!!)

Sincerest apologies to everyone who liked my early Scarecrow designs, only to see me completely throw them out the window.
But I just couldn't help it!! I love drawing him like this,,

Yeah as you can see, I decided to just fully embrace Zbigniew Rychlicki's tiny Scarecrow.

His silliness and literal :-) face was irresistible.
And I did follow up on my promise of giving Nick a hat!!

PLEASE elaborate about the pro-socialist undertones of the wizard of oz 👁
for the record when im discussing this im only considering baum's original 14 books as canon. yes, the other ones are technically canon, but i havent read them so they're not part of this analysis (shoutout to you if you have though the list is kind of intimidating)
so the way that oz is run in the books, particularly after ozma takes over as ruler, has a lot of socialist undertones to it. there's little to no concept of money (most "people" living in oz use the barter/trade system) and people only really work because they want to. in the cases where beings are forced to work, it's almost always by a villain (see tip/ozma in the beginning of the marvelous land of oz, or the flying monkeys). money is rare enough that paper money is used to stuff the scarecrow in the marvelous land of oz after his straw is stolen by large bird-like creatures (im not even exagerating here the books are wild)
in the third book, ozma of oz, we're introduced to another villain called roquat, or the nome king. he and his people(?) live in underground caverns, hoarding wealth and prisoners. essentially, over the course of the book, he turns a bunch of the heroes into various little items (that dorothy later has to find and turn back with magic- once again, this series is insane). a lot of roquat's villainy is centered around his greed which, considering the whole 'oz has a limited idea of money + provides for everyone' thing, is very interesting when looking at the books in a pro-socialist lens.
finally, in the sixth book, the emerald city of oz, dorothy (who has been going back to kansas every time she comes to oz) finally decides to stay because her aunt and uncle's farm is being foreclosed due to their debt. she brings them to stay with her, further pushing the idea that oz is a utopia because of its disconnect from capitalism
this was super rambly so i hope you could understand it!! i Love talking about the wizard of oz series <3
