Paddy processed the sight like a physical punch in the gut, all the air whooshing out of his body. All words withered and died in his throat as he stared near uncomprehendingly at the creature he had been dreaming about for years. He ached to take those last few steps and close the gap between them, but held back, a swell of emotion arising inside him like a crescendo, threatening to swallow him whole.

Despite his silence, Eoin must have some sixth sense for Paddy. His head shot up, music trailing off as he got off the stool and turned to face the other. Gleaming brown met wide-eyed blue as Eoin came to a halt in front of him.

For a beat, the two simply gazed at each other, too wrapped up in each other’s presence to do more.

Then Eoin grabbed him by the lapels of his collar, tilted his head down, and kissed him.

The crescendo in Paddy’s mind was instantly quietened, all he could think about was the soft, dry feel of Eoin’s lips against his, the sharp promise of teeth behind them. Coming up to run his hands through Eoin’s curls, Paddy deepened the kiss, gasping softly as a tongue plunged into his mouth, the feel causing tingles to run down his spine and settle low in his body. Craning his neck, Paddy pressed close, suddenly needing to feel every inch of Eoin pressed against him. teeth clacked together with the ferocity of their movements, and the two became a tangle of each other. Paddy felt his back hit a wall; barely aware he was being moved in the first place. Hands were running down his front, leaving a trail of fire in their wake, coalescing in a firm grip around his hips. It turned out Eoin’s way of looking after Paddy didn’t just extend to letting him sleep in, and he was starting to wonder if Eoin had a whole Paddy-sized wardrobe stashed away in the bowels of his house.

After their reunion, Eoin had insisted on getting Paddy dressed in something that didn’t remind him of the war. Which was how he found himself hauled back to the bedroom and positioned in front of a rather ornate mirror.

He barely recognised the version of himself he saw, dressed up in all this finery, limbs pliant and loose in the arms of such a powerful creature, pants beginning to tent under his ministrations.
