Monster Trilogy by Rina Kent-> 4.25/5

1. Blood of My Monster: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Started: March 8 Finished: March 9

This is the first book I finished after hofas and I'm so glad I finally finished a book lol (except my acotar reread)

2. Lie of My Monster: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Started: March 10 Finished: March 11

3. Heart of My Monster: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Started: March 12 Finished: March 14

This series is not half as bad as I thought!! I never thought I say this tbh... But then again I chose RK's less chaotic series because the things I've heard and occasionally read bits of her other books? Yeah I had every right to not want to pick her books up haha I loved the first two books atmosphere better than the last, maybe it was because of bodyguard romance trope... but I loved the last one nonetheless. Honestly RK is a decent writer I didn't expect that.

4. The Favor by Suzanne Wright -> ⭐⭐⭐.5/5 Started: March 18 Finished: March 21

The writing in this one was... something? I normally don't care about the writing but this one was... bad!! It felt like I'm reading a fanfiction (specially the last 15%) So many unnecessary details were shared that this book could've been so much shorter without them, it really felt like I'm reading wattpad story and it pains me because I actually loved the characters and the plot.

5. Camera Chemistry by Chelsea Curto -> ⭐⭐⭐/5 Started: 23 March Finished: 24 March

70% introvert side of me had so much difficulty reading this lmao. One of my pet peeves in books is public love confession. It took me 30 minutes to read the last chapter and it was the shortest chapter ever... spoiler (not really): and the whole photo shoot scene was also difficult to go through because again... PEOPLE WERE WATCHING. It was mostly smut and well it's a novella so I didn't expected much. I love it all the same tho :)

Iris keeps what she can CD wise bc yeah no you can't trust keeping everything digital esp now when companies are pulling the shit of taking things you bought away from you so she keeps a lot of physical copies. These are just bands and artists she really enjoys and can blast in her car loudly and especially when she needs to go have a breakdown in her car.

5. What’s one mundane thing that would throw them off-kilter? Why?

Either it would be the smell of certain perfumes or the sound of wooden boxes or doors slamming. Those are things that remind her very much of her mother and Kat usually gets thrown for a loop when they come to her attention.

14. Is your OC superstitious? If so, what superstitions do they believe? If not, what do they think of superstitious people?

Nana was a superstitious person to start with, but she became even more so once she realized Oh my God, magic actually exists. She doesn't believe the one about black cats, but she doesn't walk under ladders, she doesn't step on cracks, she is very careful around mirrors, no umbrellas inside and she always knocks on wood. She also believes the whole "it comes in threes" thing.

When your little brother shares his body with a 3000 year old ghost with dark magic and weird shit keeps happening to you and your group, yeah, yeah you try to keep the bad luck at a minimum and do what you can for good luck.

20. Any major theme(s) or conflict(s) in your OC’s life? How have they dealt with that? Are they aware of it, or do they ignore it? Did you design them with such theme(s)/conflict(s) in mind, or did they evolve naturally?

Maddox faces two major things in his life; loss and having to be the one responsible for everything.

He loses a lot of his family when he's young; aunts, uncles, cousins and his grandfather. He loses Cecelia, his cousin, his best friend, his twin flame and it tears him apart because of how incredibly strong their bond always had been. Then Paige abandons him and their daughters. It's a struggle he faces just as much as Kat did and he's so tired of losing people he loves and I think he fights harder and harder bc of it.

On top of that, out of all the cousins, Maddox was the oldest, followed by Cecelia. He always had to look our for everyone and keep everyone safe and happy. As he got older, as everything got smaller, he became responsible for keeping Max sane and helping raise Kat on top of his own daughters; bc while Vance and Chelsea were her guardians and doing a damn good job raising her, he and Max promised Cecelia they would always look after Kat.

He was responsible for I2 and later KaibaCorp. He's responsible for the Yugi Gang and the D&D Gang. He's responsible for a lot and I think he's just tired.

TWICE IN A year?! Not too shabby. But a trifecta or more sounds even better! Naturally, I’m talking about my return to Busted Open Radio. While most never appear even once. I’ve now guested on the worlds #1 pro wrestling radio show and podcast twice in 2023!

Host Dave LaGreca first invited me on the SiriusXM gabfest early in the year. Our 30-minute conversation must have impressed the industry leading personality, who promised to have me back. True to his word, I joined Dave and former AEW Women’s World champion Thunder Rosa in the fall.

A scheduled one-hour co-hosting block soon turned into a three-house pro wrestling marathon. Thunder and I worked some of my earliest shows together for a small promotion called Wrestling for Charity. It was a wonderful reunion, and anyone who’s ever tuned in already knows how easy it is to chat with Dave.

As an avid listener, I love Busted Open’s diverse team of impeccable wrestling veterans and pundits. Having already thrown my hat in the ring to return, I won’t avoid this opportunity to campaign to become a regular. 

Dave, should Busted Open Nation need consistent doses of smarts, sass, and charm, I'm easy to find!

Chelsea Green is perfection!

Since returning to WWE in early 2023, nobody’s been as consistently entratining as Green–not by a long shot. Each outing, the Canadian reinforces how significantly the company fumbled her first run … and the wise investment that was bargaining her back.

Whether with Sonya Deville (get well soon!) or Piper Niven, Greens redefined the Women’s tag title scene. She’s almost single-handedly reinvigorated interest, her gloriously grating personality offering reasons beyond the belts for challengers to line up.

From Nattie Neidhart and any partner she chooses to former NXT Women’s tag champs Katana Chance & Kayden Carter, Green and Co. have reignited the once-flailing division. For that alone, Adam Pearce, you should give Chelsea anything she demands!

In so many ways, Green reminds me of another irritating yet skilled in-ring competitor, capable of elevating any partner. Ella Envy’s been NWA World Women’s tag champ with three different members of Pretty Empowered.  While the group’s primary focus is recently crowned NWA World Women’s champion Kenzie Paige, Envy is the backbone–a comedic genius who makes any pairing fresh and fun.

In Green and Envy, two very capable grapplers anchor their respective divisions. The future of women’s tag wrestling feels secure–and I couldn’t be happier!

FEEL THE POWERRR

Speaking of the NWA, any who haven’t seen recent Powerrr broadcasts are missing out. In season 15, the National Wrestling Alliance flagship is again firing on all cylinders.

With a more polished look, revamped entrances, and a plethora of rising stars and long-time favorites. Powerrr serves great action and larger-than-life personalities–yours truly included. Airing Tuesdays at 6:05 pm ET on YouTube, NWA Powerrr is one of the fastest-paced wrestling offerings going today!

Hello y’all! I’m stuck a bit with my wips, so I thought now would be as good a time as any to make my dramatic entry into the writblr side of this website.

My name’s Paige or Ruth, depending on where and when you know me from. My pronouns are they/she.

In the non-online world I have about half a million jobs, which include but are not limited to college student, freelance translator, and stage manager.

I’m a theater nerd, an even bigger lit nerd, and a massive fan of language learning, so hi! Hola! Bonjour ! 你好！Merhaba!

I read basically everything, but I particularly love literary fiction about morally complicated characters. I’m a sucker for anything that explores masculinity, gender, violence, and sexuality from unexpected perspectives.

I write fiction with a focus on the nuance of queer relationships and family.

I’m currently working on three wips.

The first is in the editing stage right now. It’s unnamed, but I usually call it Rita Spalding after the protag. It’s about the relationship between two women, both of whom have grown accustomed to violence, and the way that experience shapes their feelings for each other and the world. It’s about grief, family, and the way we express love when we have grown detached from ourselves.

My second is called “The Girls of Coker County”. It’s about three women who grew up together in rural Georgia. After high school they went their separate ways. All of them were ambitious and intelligent, but due to circumstances within and beyond their control they’re now all stuck in places they don’t want to be. It explores female ambition, cycles of violence and abuse within family and within queer relationships, and the rural South. Chelsea’s a pageant mom, Hunter’s a failed journalist getting over her break-up with her boss, and Emily realized about seven years ago that marrying rich wouldn’t help the fact that all she’s ever wanted was for people to respect her. Plus, it’s got an essential oil based cult, which is neat.

My third is about three members of the afterlife HR department. It’s a lot more comedic than the other two, but I’ve been having a lot of fun with the characters and their differing relationships to identity, conformity, and bureaucracy. The first of the protagonists, Jossey, has accidentally been exorcised from HR and is now stuck playing a very long and very boring set of games in the after-afterlife as she works through a tournament to ultimately battle death itself. Florida has worked for HR forever, to the point she’s forgotten who she was on Earth. However, as her circumstances change she realizes she might have to rediscover who she is and who she wants to be. And what about Daniel? Well, he’s just new here. And, apparently, in extreme debt.

Let’s Go Ruck: Trying Women’s Rugby

Rugby was originally a men’s sport and women’s rugby has become popular more recently. These days, women’s rugby is gaining a higher profile thanks to International tournaments’ exposure and financial investment. The growth in popularity among women attracted women in both developed and emerging nations, being the fastest-growing sport in the world with over 500,000 new players joining every year globally.  The game remains an amateur, minority sport but a fast-growing one played in over 80 countries worldwide. It is estimated that by 2026, 40% of the total number of players will be female! Do you want to be one of them? Join Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham at Uticuse Hellbenders Rugby (a women’s team) located in Syracuse for an evening practice to get a feel for the game. If you love it, you can always return and play with them on a weekly basis.

The club bridged the cities of Utica and Syracuse since 2008 and grew the team from a rag-tag group of diverse individuals, former rugby players, and newly interested ones alike to a State-Ranked Competitive Rugby Club.

Both their captains and coach will be on hand to help us with drills and cater the first practice to our experience level! So you have nothing to lose but a fun night of trying a new sport, which you might just want to try again. Grab a girlfriend and join Tracy and her cousin Paige Amidon, a former SU Rugby player for a night of rucking, mauling, and scrumming! We’ll network after the practice with a drink or two at Chelsea’s Restaurant.
