Okay, so I like the TIlly Birds. I saw them live last month AND IT WAS SO GOOD. The energy is just so fun, I like the fan cam footage they put up in their insta stories very much.

This one confuses me a little cos Thai songs are a sometimes food for me. They are so far beyond my comprehension level that my mind wanders and starts thinking in English, and shuts off to the Thai, and then i run the risk of my brain viewing the language as not a language but background sounds and that's bad for the particular way in which I am learning Thai.

TEEKS!! Seriously, I will take all the love I have and can put into my laptop so that it might come through your screen, kiss you on the cheeks and whisper TEEKS. One note is all it takes, ooff that voice!

I got the haircut. It looks more like 80s-pop-punk-girl-band on me than tumblr's-favourite-jender-thief but I like it. (I look like my mum)

Ooooh, this is my reminder to listen to Hozier again. What a musician! What an ally! What a poet! Also I'm seeing Hozier in November and my ticket stipulates that I must bring my own chair.

This and "finally found you" are songs I WOULD LOVE (oh look the all caps are back) to be able to sing. Like, those are songs that have homes burrowed deep inside my soul.

2. What is your favorite currently airing show?

So with the caveat that I tend to use "favorite" rather loosely, and it can entirely change from week to week, I have to say My Stand In.

It's the show I'm having the hardest time waiting for each week. I look forward to a lot of shows, but this one has got me in the "I neeeeed it" place.

I normally get very caught up in angst and drama, which is why I have to avoid shows that feel too realistic with dysfunctional families or abuse (I have a background in human services, so I've seen too much of that in real life).

But somehow My Stand In is that rare show that hits the perfect formula for me, where I am not remotely stressed while watching, just basking in the drama. Sometimes we all need to get into the mud and roll around a bit, and it feels glorious.

Plus, I love premises that play with identity and the concepts of what it is to be human beyond our bodies. I love shows that talk about people's capacity for change and the things that challenge us to be better.

Also the acting is just phenomenal. I knew Poom needed to be a lead the second I saw him for the first time in Bake Me Please, and he's proving why perfectly. Up has the most difficult job in BL right now, and he is nailing it in a way I think very few actors could.

All in all, it's just hitting all the sweet spots!

listen i was going to play this game at some point anyway so i started making gifs last night because i'm a lunatic and wanted to have ALL FRESH ALL NEW GIFS MADE BY ME FOR THIS which meant in some cases scouring the interent for quality sources because i love a lot of old shows but that's a good thing because after i finally let myself go to bed LATE last night, @paintedmasks tagged me so now i'm not just doing it because i wanna be a cool kid, i'm doing it because AN INTERNET FRIEND SAID SO and that's so much better 💖

i did this specifically NOT just QLs so y'all can get an idea of what else i am into since i don't post about many other shows on this blog (tho there are a couple in here) but i will probably do a bonus QL one later when i have the brain space and time to come up with a second list. maybe one that's just asian dramas (including QL)? we'll see.

3 ships: My current top are TianJiu (I am obsessed with them and the show in general) from To Sir With Love, Dmitri x Anya because I learned the musical is coming to my city so I am returning to one of my earliest ships, and InKorn because I am rewatching UWMA and forgot how much they absolutely destroy me

First ever ship: That’s difficult to remember, but iirc I had a very strong conviction that Beauty and Ginger from Black Beauty should end up together (I was also in denial Ginger died and wrote my first fix it fic to rectify that - I was 8)

 Last song: Romantic Devil by Coldin 

 Last movie: I watched the Semantic Error movie yesterday, but if that doesn’t count because it is a repackaged tv show I watched Miracle on 34th St the other day (the original, I am not fond of the remake)

Currently reading: nothing at the moment. I am trying to rebuild a reading habit and just finished Wind in the Willows but haven’t picked up another book yet. It is a toss up between the 2nd Throne of Glass book because I have it lent to me, or reading the Triage novel because it was just translated into english 

Currently watching: oh god. The currently airing dramas I am keeping up with are 609 Bedtime Story, Between Us, Oh My Assistant, Happy Ending Romance, I Will Knock You, Gap, The Warp Effect, Choco Milk Shake, May I Help You, My Tooth Your Love, My School President, and Till the World Ends. I am also watching the Given anime and Abbott Elementary.

3 ships The Endeavour - fuck that ship That little boat Pingu makes, noot noot - love that ship. Me with whatever dopamine providing fantasy is gonna get me through the day - the best/most maladaptive ship. (Worse than the Endeavour? Abso-fucking-lutely not, FUCK that ship)

First ship My barbies with all my other barbies. My grandma got me a Ken, potentially cos all my Barbies were super poor and couldn’t afford clothes, or more beds, so they were always naked and always in the sam bed. And they needed a man to make some mullah and put some designer threads on the table. But she bought me the gold mesh singlet Ken and he just abandoned all his girl friends for the club every night.

Last song White Pills - Tilly Birds. I saw them in concert a few weeks ago and a new song just came out, so you know I’m all about that. Also Third and Nunew were both on the same series on The Masked Singer. Also Third’s voice is so distinctive and comforting in that same way that hearing that slight gravel in my cigarette smoking bestie’s voice feels like home.

Currently reading Honestly, nothing. Consuming content in my native language is a choice when I could be using that time to learn Thai (I learn Thai by watching Comprehensible Thai videos - it’s not hard work - just time consuming)

Last movie Monkey Man. Fun fact: 5 of us went to the movies together, 3 they/thems, 1 queer and 1 friend who had never been asked about their pronouns before and was having a little crises/revelation. Good movie, too many teeth though. (That wasn’t really a fact…)

Currently craving Crunchy potato chips - crisps. Salt and vinegar. Exactly 4 chips.
