Salutations, Tumblr!

Today I've brought something new to me, a painterly-esque piece for a little Fennekin! I wanted to learn some new artistic skills, and this is what came to me! I've begun to like using new brushes for different effects, haha.

Aside from the piece, thank you all so much for your continuous support of my work! I really appreciate your comments and enjoyment of what I create, and I shall continue to bring you what I deem to be good enough for viewership! Thank you again!

Woah I have not been active for a bit!! Uni has been kicking my ass lately, h O w E v e r! I will make up for it by sharing some pictures of our latest shenanigans

We made apple pie! Ralter and Flambé actually got along decently while we were baking together, and Acacia provided some very tasty honey to out inside with the apples. There's a picture of Smilliam that I took while we were on the walk to pick the apples, he really loves the sunset. He and Aneurin were a huge help, too. We met some very sweet (figurative, not literal) Applin that followed us around while we were picking the our fruits. They climbed up on my head. I wont post the picture I got because I choose to remain faceless and mysterious >:³

Also, Pumpkin (my morelul) helped my flatmate carve a pumpkin! They're very proud of themself :³

Anyway, I hope these pictures make up for my lack of activity! Next week I'm heading home to Galar for my reading week, so I'm excited to get to see my family again :)

I know I don't post art here too often so there's examples under the cut

I'm just really worried

I don't even have to show the whole thing, just the eye is fine

I've been told my artstyle is really distinct but I've been VERY inconsistent recently because of the constant experimentation... I'm struggling to find a rendering style I can stick with. not helping my self-confidence

especially with the Fair Hands in Iron one (first image) because I wanted to go with a completely different approach than usual...

these first four are more "finished" pieces.

the first two are especially more "finished"-looking - for those, I strived for clarity, which I find is one of my weak points... I'm not a fan of stronger shadows or strong lines. I did not enjoy it in the slightest

the other two are more muddled-looking and the entire thing looks like it has jello texture (not jelly artstyle). they took far more layers than I would have liked. (I crashed my computer)

the first one here is elbee, which is arguably the one I'm most satisfied with

the second and third one are colored sketches with a little shading

the fourth one is a rough

(a lot of these are from my upcoming mermay au post)

I'm leaning towards a more painterly style of rendering, but nothing is set in stone

I've even tried pixel a couple times

literally my first thought whenever i hear a game i like is getting a remake is ALWAYS "will there be any new story content?". unless it's a game that just like doesn't have a story to begin with or the original had dogshit controls that a remake could fix, that's my first priority and if the answer is no i get sad. i probably wouldn't have bought pokemon mystery dungeon DX if i hadn't fallen in love with the painterly storybook-esque art style and wanted to play the whole game with it. i only bought skyward sword HD because i love the original game so much that i was willing to pay $60 just to finally play it without having dogshit controls. sorry.

Old Art.

When I was younger, I ran a sci-fi anthro pokemon RP group called Vyse. Yeah, the deviantart days were different, alright? Anyways, a lot happened that lead me to close it and dip from the internet for a while.

I tried to do a revival/sequel group over discord when I was happier with who and where I was in life to ‘bring the gang back together’ as it were called Vyse: Second Sin, or VSS for short. For events, I tried to do these more painterly banner images promoting each one. It was the first time I ever tried to do anything line-less, and I look back on a few of them very fondly.

Sadly the group sputtered out and, as much as I’d love to finish telling that story one day, it probably ain’t happening. It was always designed with group participation in mind, and there are other, newer stories lacking baggage that I’d rather tell with that effort instead. Anyone else ever have one of those story concepts/ideas like that?

It's been a bit since I shared any Renegades art (AKA the Pokemon group I'm helping moderate) so have some art for a story I just posted over on DA (read it here!).

Anywho, story is about Kepler's arrival at Weaton's ranch, Kepler being the little gold-armored alien--rolled an Elgyem/Kakuna/Dewpider once and decided to translate that as a space alien in a spacesuit. Really love writing for her, she just wants to research the planet for science and sometimes sounds like those scientists that went down in the sub and squealed over the various animals. XD

First one is inspired by Calvin and Hobbes since Kepler and her ship have some big Spaceman Spiff energy, while the second one with Kepler and Mr. Spacecase went with the more painterly style since that scene is a bit more deep. Really enjoyed doing both.
