The Witching Hour: Part 2

[ Part 1 ]

Originally part of the Calaveras, Elias Navarez saw 8 year old Evelia Torres about to die in a witch burning. He killed everyone who was part of it and then adopted her, defecting from the Calaveras and started his own hunting organization. Originally just Calaveras defectors, the group grows to include other hunters, supernatural creatures, and even some ordinary humans, and the group grows into a family.

Inola Hale [ Katie Douglas ] – 16; werefox (not kitsune). Peter Hale's eldest child and Malia's half sister

Juniper Summers [ Peyton List ] – 16/23, witch with nature powers. Acacia's older sister, killed by Kate Argent when she was in high school, accidentally revived by Evelia

Lucille “Luci” Faulkner [ Grace Van Dien ] – 16; human. Gen's younger twin sister, Lydia's best friend until Allison shows up, Stiles ship

Marcia Otero [ Melissa Barrera ] – 16; human. Her family was all part of the Calaveras, her parents died and Marcia has been raised by her aunt ever since, taken from the Calaveras into the new hunting family before she could be forced into becoming a hunter

Morana Corvin [ Teagan Croft ] – 14; witch, priestess to Hecate. Part of the same cult as Alandra & Gwyn

Nadia Alvarez [ Eiza Gonzales ] – 27; succubus

Nori Adler [ Naomi Scott ] – 16; chimera

Nyla Barnett [ Anna Diop ] – 25; dragon

Paloma Otero [ Salma Hayek ] – 56; hunter. Marcia's aunt, long time Calaveras member, defected a year or so after Elias & Darius did

Rhea Hale [ Kaya Scodelario ] – 16; werewolf. Cora's twin sister, ran from the fire, got kidnapped by hunters and experimented on and eventually rescued by Elias & Darius

Ryleigh Brice [ Madison Iseman ] – 15; witch

Samira Acosta [ Isabela Moner ] – 15; fairy

Saoirse Carlisle [ Alicia Vikander ] – 24; hunter

Silas Peregrine [ Thomas Doherty ] – 16/unknown; vampire. The other surviving member of Della's coven, the two are now hiding out in Beacon Hills under the guise of being cousins

My Benidorm Fest Final Top 10

Blanca Paloma – "EAEA" (It's the complete product and the performance is flawless)

Megara – "Arcadia" (such a cool concept! However, we've definitely heard this before in Eurovision)

Fusa Nocta – "Mi familia" (My fav song of the contest by far, but the live performance isn't very good)

Agoney – "Quiero Arder" (He delivers! The song isn't my fav, but the performance is very very cool)

Vicco – "Nochentera" (I love the vibe so much! Such an earworm too)

Karmento – "Quiero y duelo" (Intimate and beautiful! Not for Eurovision tho)

Alice Wonder – "Yo Quisiera" (I don't care too much about it)

José Otero – "Inviernos en Marte" (Boring. Pass)

Benidorm Fest might not start until the end of this month, but the songs themselves were released just before Christmas, so I’ve had plenty of time to get familiar with them all!

Unsurprisingly, Arcadia is my favourite here! It's a solid electronic rock song, and it peaks at the right moment with the chorus easily being my favourite part. I like the production, especially how it adds in little video game sounds in the break near the end. Megara are a band with a distinct aesthetic, which I appreciate.

I rank these based on studio cuts, and Queiro arder is definitely my clear second based on that. The disparate parts might not come together perfectly, but I love how this song constantly switches it up, and I enjoy nearly every section, especially that opening and the almost ethereal pre-chorus which is such a great contrast to the pulsing drop that follows. My big concern with it is how it will come across live, with all the production on the vocals in the studio cut being a big aspect of its sound. That shouting in the first verse especially worries me, it's the only section I'm not convinced about in the studio cut, and I can't see it being any better live. It's the same worry I have for another song I love in this selection, Tracción, which is of a style we've not really heard in a national final before, and also uses a lot of autotune for deliberate effect. Last year a song that made heavy use of artistic autotune ended up pulling out, so I really hope this years' artists know what they're doing for their performances!

Que esclati tot may not be the most interesting or novel song, but it ended up so high in my ranking just because it's so fun! I was vibing with it right off the bat and it managed to stick with me from first listen. Finally, I also really like Quiero y duelo with its folky, acoustic sound which really stands out from the rest of this selection. I love the sound of the Spanish guitar and percussion in it.          

The one thing I have no idea of is what I think Spain should actually send to Eurovision! Last year Chanel proved how much difference a great live could make, so while I've got my favourite songs from this selection for now I'll hold off picking a favourite entry until I've seen them performed! That said, I'd be very excited if Spain sent something a bit off the wall, like the rock Arcadia or the hyperpop Tracción.

Det er ikke bare Norge som skal velge i kveld, Spania har nemlig også sin finale denne lørdagen. Åtte bidrag konkurrerer om den ene plassen, den gjeve plassen av å få ta over fra fjorårets populære Chanel. Tambien puede ser señal de Algo q me haya dado x comprobar en q estado esta mi mini-laptop x si me lo llevo al VIAJE tras como 5 años sin utilizarlo.. ARGENTINA-CHILE-BOLIVIA-PERU-PARAGUAY-BRASIL.. y lo 1ero o unico q no funciona es la BATERIA xq esta FUNDIDA (facil arreglo x 40€ una nueva o se puede utilizar solo con Red).. aunque es un poco antiguo o lento me lo llevaria para visualizar todas las fotos q hice desde q comenzo la mision de 2008..la otra opcion es comprar una memoria externa de movil..

.. Pero sea como sea me ha recordado q tiene de pantalla de bienvenida.. Mi foto en un W. C. publico de LONDRES con la portada de un periodico gratuito con el PALACIO de WESTMINSTER sumergido.. Luego como fondo de pantalla tengo al CRISTO DEL OTERO o mas grande de ESPAÑA en PALENCIA q visite en 2022 tras las procesiones de SEMANA SANTA de VALLADOLID.. junto a un NADADOR (bonito wallpaper q encontre d casualidad).. y luego como archivos en el escritorio.. tengo video en estacion de SANTA FE en san DIEGO camino de LOS ANGELES para ver a KYLIE MINOGUE en LAS VEGAS como hice 03-10-09.. Tambien una portada con su cancer LLORANDO del DAILY MIRROR.. el FB de mi amigo JUANMA LOBATO con los COLDPLAY xq les sirvio JAMONES DIVINOS para su concierto en MADRID de 2011 o de la gira MYLO XYLOTO q grabaron en LAS VENTAS.. asi como video q grabe hablando con CASANDRA SAINTE_MARIE DEL AGUA (nacida en LONDRES de padre Chileno y ex-mujer española.. Nieta de VOLPONE fundador de diario CHILENO "CLARIN" exiliado en MADRID un año antes de asesinato de su amigo SALVADOR ALLENDE y escribiendo sus desaparecidas memorias en la bañera de su apartamento en CENTRO COLON)..de 7_may_2013 tras fotografiarme a CONTRA-LUZ con cliford Luyk a la salida d Bernabeu y cuyo malogrado hijo me presentaron en disco AVE NOX en cuya sala ROJA hacia d DJ y tenia una barra alquilada diciendome q negociaba con DI-AMANTES tras retirarse del BASKET pues jugo en los TORMENTA ROJA de la UNIVERSIDAD D ST JOHN (PKWAY UTOPIA en QUEENS-NY) y REAL MADRID asi como en la ESTAFA del FORUM FILATELICO de VALLADOLID x el q se acabo suicidando su jugador mas emblematico tras 2 divorcios LALO GARCIA q heredo la cartera d clientes de su padre y aparecio ahogado en el rio PISUERGA

.. el video q grabe desde mi hotel de MIAMI junto a la RIA de como pasaba un CARGUERO y tenia puesto DO THEY KNOW ITS CHRISTMAS? de la BAND AID o unos millonarios cantantes britanicos como BONO O STING O GEORGE MICHAEL O PHIL COLLINS q lanzaron por mi año 13 (28-11-84) para recaudar unas migajas para unos muertos d hambre africanos.. Y q regrabaron en 1989 con kylie minogue y su ex-novio jason donovan (al q dejo x HUTCH de INXS cayendo en la droga).. Entre otros como los Gemelos d BROS a cuyo cantante vi en LAS VEGAS al salir de ver a KYLIE MINOGUE

Y por ultimo el testamento de mi padre y como perfil de usuario tengo foto con un cuadro en JERUSALEN de la PALOMA descendiendo para posarse en JESUCRISTO

Y se me olvidaba el audio q grabe de cuando ANTONIO VIEJO o juez de J. I. 20 y JUEZ DECANO D MADRID.. me envio al psikiatriko y dije que EL DEL CUADRO (JUANCARLOS I) SE VA IR DE ESPAÑA, ME LO HA DICHO DIOS, EL ILUMINADO (es decir me lo revelo la luz)
