Trans people are under attack. What do we do? Stand and fight back.
“We have created an environment of hate and then we look at them like there is something wrong with them. First you hated black people. Then you hated Jews. Now you hate everybody. So the question is, when they only people left are you, will you hate yourself? Power concedes nothing. This house is for the people, by the people, to serve the people. and you won’t listen. You go after everybody’s kids but your own. You make hate the way to go as long as it’s not applied to you. You have to ask yourself the question, why would they be doing that? Who are we to cause that? [Gestures to the chanting protestors] None of us said we would come here and hurt people and yet you make trades and policy so your bills can be heard. You go against the people of this state. This is a horrible horrible bill. This feels horrible because it has nothing to do with the people. And the last thing I’ll say is, god bless you because somebody’s gonna have to atone — yes, yes the gentleman in the back row— somebody’s gonna have to atone for not being who you are supposed to be.”
Representative Pamela Stevenson
Kentucky. Against SB 150.

I'm getting better at telling Frank and Joe apart, but it's kind of hard getting a handle on how old the Hardy boys and Nancy Drew are supposed to be in the 1970s TV series.
The actors playing them ranged from 18 to 24 when the show premiered, but that doesn't necessarily mean the characters are. None of them seems to attend school or hold down a paying job (until the third season where the brothers become part-time Federal agents).
I'll have to keep watching for clues.

Kermit! Reminiscing... this song was memorable. youtu(.)be/JOMsz-ru2g8 "“The Rainbow Connection” is, in the words of its co-writer Paul Williams, Kermit the Frog's “I Am” song, meaning that it sets him up as a character and provides the motivation that sends him out on those highways and byways. In other words, it lends depth and humanity to a character who is mostly fabric and foam." -The Bluegrass Situation (PW also co-wrote Evergreen with Barbra Streisand featured in A Star is Born).
paul williams is in this two-part episode of the nancy drew/hardy boys mysteries from 1977 called "nancy drew and the hardy boys meet dracula" and i was obsessed with this as a child (amongst a few other episodes, though i enjoyed the whole show) after seeing it in syndication, and watched it every halloween...maybe i STILL watch it at halloween lmaaao 👀🦇
my mom raised me on the carpenters along with everything else i've mentioned, so karen's beautiful voice singing rainbow connection/we've only just begun/rainy days and mondays is indelible in my mind right alongside barbra with songs like evergreen.
i love that about kermit, they really do feel like flesh and blood characters at times, don't they? and so much of that is in the emotional context that could be given to them through emotional context like rainbow connection.
