Day 4 is taken from @panpeekaboo ‘s Bestiary list prompts. This is my attempt at a Living Painting.
I had a lot of fun with this piece, and I learnt a lot doing it (mostly a reiteration of not rushing when doing fiddly linework which I... failed utterly. Whoops). It’s (by no means) perfect, but I’m actually really proud of it. Last year, I wouldn’t have dreamed of attempting something like this. Progress. I think I’d like to revisit this in three or four years, do it better. I like the concept.
My Day 5 is also from @panpeekaboo ‘s Bestiary list: Mimic.
This isn’t as good as some other things I’ve done so far, but it was an experiment with promarkers and colour that has taught me many things, including the current limits of my own ability, and the logic of choosing paper. Here, I chose incorrectly. But I’m still fond of the little guy. Will definitely bite your hand.
Today’s inspiration is another one from @panpeekaboo ‘s Bestiary list: Haunted Armour. Specifically, haunted rental armour.
I had a lot of fun doing this. It’s my first time attempting to seriously draw armour like this, and I’m actually really proud of the results. There are a few things I definitely need to get better at, though. Like how light refraction works on metal. And font sizing. And speech bubbles. Another one to revisit in two or three years!
