Really looking forward to the next update of MBFW. I have so many questions I want to ask. I won’t send them all in one go 😂

You mentioned in one of your comments under the MBFW tag that Lexa brought Costia to Clarkes parents house. Did Clarke know about Costia before that night? If so, what was that conversation like. Or did she find out that night when they showed up?

What happened/How did she feel/what was said?

Will we see this in the story or maybe as a one shot? I’m a sucker for angst in stories and I can’t imagine how that would feel for Clarke to have to sit and watch them in her own house 😬

Was Clarke seeing anyone at the time? Or are Costia and Finn the only two real relationships they’ve had since they broke up?

First off, thank you, that's so lovely to hear and always surreal to think of someone not only taking the time to read my hallucinations put into writing, but reading them more than once?!?!? Crazy. Thank you 💕

So for MBFW, Clarkw did know about Costia, yes. There's a tiny oneshot on here somewhere (if I can find it I'll try and rb it right after this ask) where Costia was first mentioned.

In the beginning, Costia really was just a coworker and nothing more, and Clarke knew about that. And then she became kind of a very transient fuck buddy, though that part Clarke didn't know so much about because Lexa never paraded any women around Clarke. I mean she knew that Lexa slept with people from time to time, same as she did (Niyla, in particular who was a fuck buddy/situationship for many years that Lexa also had to endure being around from time to time (I reiterate, while Lexa is a certified mess, neither of them are entirely innocent in this shitshow 🥴)), but it wasn't ever really a topic of conversation either enjoyed talking about, so they didn't.

Unless they were officially seriously dating someone.

Which it neither really got to that point with anyone—

Until Costia.

So, Lexa was honest with Clarke when she started having feelings. Again, she didn't parade it around for obvious reasons, but she delicately brought up the fact that she was seeing Costia more often. That they had a connection. That she was becoming someone important to her.

That she thought she might be falling in love...

And Clarke was... a mix of emotions.

Because the thing is, even while dating Costia, it's not as though Lexa's actions or affection toward Clarke ever wavered. How you see them acting in the fic with Clarke engaged, is exactly how Lexa acted while dating Costia.

When Lexa had a bad day, she called Clarke.

When Lexa had a great day, she called Clarke.

When Lexa had a week of vacation time saved up, she went out to California to visit Clarke.

She flirted and she sent pictures (not nudes get your minds out of the gutter 😤(sometimes lingerie pics tho)) and she told her she loved her every day, every bit as emotionally as she ever did.

They were still very much Clarke and Lexa.

So it was... it was confusing.

Because Lexa's still Lexa.

But now there's Costia.

Costia, who is apparently someone important enough that Lexa feels should meet her psuedo adoptive parents. And who Lexa sleeps with in the guest room instead of with Clarke in her bed like always, despite still very much slipping in for a quick 5 min cuddle session and a kiss on the lips goodnight, like always.

So it was heartbreaking and legitimately terrifying. But also deeply confusing in how to react.

That whole situation won't be something explicitly shown in the fic, no, but Clarke does have words about it. Many words. Many angry words that will spill out in the ultimate showdown where she gets to purge 9 years worth of feelings in one rather volatile evening that Lexa (both, they both) had coming for a long time now.

GENESIS CHAPTER!!! YESSSSSSS MY BOYY

Genesis is a hate-reader 🍷 Canon to me. I'm also glad you give him time to shine as a strategist, like, he IS a caster and one of the most proficient SOLDIERs in existence 💅stands to reason he does have to think things through on the battlefield and this isn't addressed nearly enough imo.

Zack "I'm not traumatized 😀" Fair is breaking my heart here. Both Cloud and Zack get to miraculously be together after losing the other, but the fear is fresh in Zack's mind. And unfortunately due to the rapidly developing situation (SCREAMS) he doesn't really have time to process and address it, and that's assuming he isn't avoiding doing so like the plague because Cloud's alive so everything's fine now right? 😀 Except it's super not and now Zack is the only one who really knows how not fine it is 💔

Speaking of not addressing emotions lol Angeal is in full repression mode and Sephiroth is isolatinggg 😬 I know how easy it is to withdraw when you're used to not having anyone there for you, when you have to figure out and manage everything yourself regardless of how unequipped you are for the task, but I also feel for Genesis here because it really does take a lot of work to gently coax people out of that over and over again. I like how you're addressing this in general, but especially from this pov! I really feel Genesis' frustration here. He knows it would get better if Seph just came home 😥

I really enjoyed the intel gathering scene with Bolin 👌👌👌 You're really serving up top shelf Genesis in this chapter and it's delightful to watch! But Camp 28 is stressing me tf out agagshshshshs Zack is somewhat reassured for now but even Kenny is worried about Cloud's lack of self preservation (physically and emotionally damn) and he doesn't even know how bad of a situation they're walking into! Though no one really knows and that's kind of the problem, but I love Kenny and I want him to survive this 😭 He needs to survive so he can be brave and trust Juvie with the kids!

Speaking of kids, CLAUDIA IS SO PRECIOUS I CANT 💕 I'm as bad as Vincent at this point. Claudia deserves the world (and she doesn't even exist anymore.. I will never be ok again 🫠)

I'm a little worried about whatever Genesis has planned to address the Camp 28 situation, because, well, it's Genesis lol but at the same time I love his constant rebellion against being told "no" 💅

Genesis being a strategist just makes sense to me. Like. The man led a rebellion against Shinra that turned into a straight up war, waged it for a decent amount of time, and managed to not immediately get eradicated. That in itself says the man’s got SOME brains on him lol

Yeahhh Zack’s still in the “just happy Spike’s here” stage and honestly doesn’t even realize what he’s doing. The weight of carrying Cloud’s secret is kinda trumping his own emotions in importance, which miiiiiight not be good :/

It’s kind of sad when, to an extent, Genesis is being the most emotionally intelligent among them. I mean. Seriously. Genesis? Same guy that thought talking Sephiroth into insanity would make the dude help heal him? Yeah if he’s the smartest emotionally everyone needs some DIRE help.

But also guess what conflict is going to be resolved next chapter because I like making Seph suffer but not THAT damn much? Angeal’s repression might take a bit longer but gimme a second there’s five character arcs going on at once 😂

Camp 28 is, if you guys didn’t notice, another parade situation, except I’m dragging it out for effect LMAO. It obviously isn’t exactly the same but…well, you’ll see ;) Kenny’s just trying to look out for a buddy :( Cloud’s doing the same thing, just like…way more risky and possibly self destructive. Immortality went RIGHT to his head IMMEDIATELY

I want to preface a hot takes post with a clear mention that the goal of hot takes is to perhaps provide an insight or consideration the reader has never thought about before. Copia and the gang can (and should) be any way we want them to be-- he's our Ken after all. Take my take or leave it. Everything is valid.

Neglect =\= mean personality. I have a hard time understanding a cruel, actively mean Nihil. I find him sorta dopey and self-centered in a way that a dopey meathead can be. I think he loves his progeny a whole lot, he is just totally blind to everyone except himself. He doesn't really listen when they talk, or support them in emotional times. He's cheerful and paper thin. And in a lot of ways, I think having a parent like that is a whole lot worse. You can't fault them because they appear nice and supportive but are they really???? Haha buddy, I have no experience in having a parent like that, no sir!

Another consideration: all our blorbos are older, a lot older. Which is refreshing! And also means that they have had years of growth and setbacks. They've had several worst days and best days. They've overcome hardships and tried on multiple different ways of living. How would all of these eras affect them now? What lessons did they learn, or beliefs they've unlearned over the years? I'm not that old but I've reinvented myself several times. There's something at sixteen that I experienced that I thought was the end of the world, but I barely remember it now, and something that happened to me when I was six that was seared into my belief system forever. Some things stick and some things fade away. It's ok to have a character that has overcome things and years stand between that moment and now. I find it actually a lot more interesting to read a character like that. I encourage you to write a big backstory for Blorbo! Yes even if it's not canon!

My biggest hot take of them all is that I hate hate hate hate the steampunk top hat. Like aggressively. I see it and it ruins it for me! Steampunk in general I don't like at all, I find the aesthetic to be just that, all form but very little hint at function. But I will bite my tongue and be supportive of my husband in his little steampunk hat that he loves so very very much. I do not want to rain on his steampunk parade even though steampunk as an aesthetic was overdone by 2010

- not the most physically affectionate person but can definitely appreciate it

- he doesn't mind that you're clingy. it actually reminds him that you're there and he enjoys feeling loved

- it hits when you've basically been alone aside from your immortal god buddies for like 2000 years yknow?

- so while it's a little suffocating at times he doesn't mind at all and in fact enjoys your clingyness

- he's not super into pda but again. he will not mind if you just grab his arm and stick to it

- if people give you weird glances he'll wave it off like "oh don't worry she just does that"

- also!! cuddling while!! reading!! ULTIMATE activity

- you're laying on his chest while he reads out loud to you and every so often you pop in with something like "hey did you know you can fit inside a whale artery" and he'll be like "i'd not yet picked up this piece of information, thank you" and then move on

- oftentimes you fall asleep like that and you wake up with zhongli passed out underneath you and an old scroll on your head

XIAO

- doesn't understand the point of physical affection

- it might even annoy him a little bit :,) but once you explain that it just helps you feel safe and secure, he is All About it

- he's also interested in the ways humans express affection, so he makes sure to initiate it every so often as well just so you know he cares <3

- sometimes you help him with strategy routes

- he'll tell you where the monsters have been recently and you'll snuggle up beside him and help him plot out the most efficient way to get rid of all of them

- he's kind of enamored with you ngl

- in his head whenever you give him a hug he goes something like "wow... this person cares about me so much that she's willing to help me and hold me and everything..."

- at one point he tells you he doesn't think he deserves you and you have to shut him up and give him the biggest hug ever

- warms up to your clinginess pretty quickly actually and ends up enjoying it quite a bit

- sometimes you'll be minding your own business and xiao will sort of quietly walk up to you and be like "can i have a hug please"

- how can you POSSIBLY say no

CHILDE

- the CLINGIEST man. significantly more clingy than both xiao and zhongli by a LOT
