There are two main types of planets:

🌍 Terrestrial Planets (rocky):

Examples: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars

Made mostly of rock and metal

Have solid surfaces

🪐 Gas Giants and Ice Giants:

Examples: Jupiter, Saturn (Gas Giants), Uranus, Neptune (Ice Giants)

Composed mostly of gases or ices

No solid surface

Key Characteristics:

Orbits a star (e.g., the Sun)

Has enough gravity to become spherical

Clears its orbit of other objects

Planets can have moons, atmospheres, and sometimes rings. In other solar systems (exoplanets), planets come in many sizes and types, including super-Earths, hot Jupiters, and ocean worlds.

what is this

I wanted somewhere to put all my ideas, rants, and experiences, to share them with other people (and possibly meet some people who can help me).

I'll probably just blog about parallel computing, Lisp, functional programming, systems programming, hardware design, and old computers (possibly new ones too).

I'm still just a 17 year old, so I'm bound to get some things wrong, so please forgive me if I do.

There will probably be a flurry of new posts after this, just for context.

Parallel computing is a type of computation in which many processing are performed concurrently often by dividing large problems into smaller ones that execute independently of each other. There are several different types of parallel computing. The first one is the shared memory architecture which harnesses the power of multiple processors and multiple cores on a single machine and uses threads of programs and shared memory to exchange data. The second type of parallel computing is the distributed architecture which harnesses the power of multiple machines in a networked environment and uses message passing to communicate processes actions to one another. This paper implements several computational algorithms using parallel programming techniques namely distributed message passing. The algorithms are Mandelbrot set, Bucket Sort, Monte Carlo, Grayscale Image Transformation, Array Summation, and Insertion Sort algorithms. All these algorithms are to be implemented using C .NET and tested in a parallel environment using the MPI. NET SDK and the DeinoMPI API. Experiments conducted showed that the proposed parallel algorithms have faster execution time than their sequential counterparts. As future work, the proposed algorithms are to be redesigned to operate on shared memory multi processor and multi core architectures.

Aims: To automatically diagnose intrapartum fetal heart rate (FHR).Methods: Initial system was composed of HP2100A minicomputer with core memory, AD converter, puncher/reader of paper tape and Teletype keyboard/printer, where software was an expert’s system diagnosing baseline tachy- or bradycardia, deceleration patterns and baseline variability. CTG data were punched paper tape and reproduced by its reader to analyze, due to poor capacity of core memory, which was only 4 kbytes. Next system was composed of microcomputer tips (MT-140) with small printer. Final one was a parallelcomputers for central system with 50 channel time sharing system, composed of experts knowledge, FHR score,which predict Apgar score, artificial neural network, which predict fetal outcome, and baseline frequency spectrum, which diagnose ominous sinusoidal FHR, which prepared doctor direct reporting system.Results: Perinatal mortality reduced and cerebral palsy was zero, in the multiple system.Future: Single parturient woman monitoring computer is planning, which includes FHR score, frequency spectrum and novel hypoxia index, by which infantile cerebral palsy is prevented, and direct reporting system.
