Scariest costume ever!

I ended up coming up with an idea for something spooky, so I drew it. 

The wasp is Trogus vulpinus, a parasitoid of Papilio canadensis and other spp. 

Obviously, the wasp is not quite to scale, but for the purpose of the theme, drawing a giant one makes sense.

You know what I like. Depression, pain, etc etc.

Mikey starts locking his door after Parasitica.

Nobody knew the door to Mikey's room could lock, including Mikey, but once he tested it out he found that it did. And he just...locked it. Sometimes he'll find himself stumbling out of bed after a nightmare, automatically heading to visit own of his brothers, and doesn't remember the door's locked until he's pushing on the handle.

It's not fear, even though he knows that's what his brothers think, and he hates himself for making him feel that way. Well, part of it is fear, but it's more of an instinctual reaction of anything, a flash of terror that catches him off guard when he sees Leo or Raph's eyes narrow.

Another part is guilt he feels when he looks at his brothers, sometimes. Guilt at not setting them free fast enough, at leaving them in that awful state for so long. Guilt for having to hurt them, for putting their lives at risk with an experimental chemical because it's not like Donnie was the one who made it, who knows what it could have done.

And of course there's this the sense that he shouldn't be so reliant on them, anyway. His brothers have been his heroes for so long and Mikey's looked to them for everything, trusted they would always make it okay. And deep down, he almost feels kind of...silly, for believing that. Like it was never fair of him to put him on those pedestals.

Shouldn't he be stronger than them, now? Would it be a disservice to them if Mikey wasn't able to go it alone?

(It wouldn't be, but it takes longer than he'll ever admit to anyone to figure that out).

Galearia spp. are probably one the most ridiculous looking Eucharitid wasps I've ever seen. It is also a favourite. It looks like a weird spaceship or something. The first image is my drawing, the second image is a reference photo from the above provided link. Galearia (i) is pictured at the bottom left.

Their brothers groaned, cueing her in to the probability that he had asked them this before. Venus smiled at him and answered simply, “I’d love you, Mikey.”

“I wouldn’t,” Raph said over his shoulder. “I’d let your slimy worm self get eaten by a spider.”

“Worms are actually eaten by a variety of organisms including, ants, centipedes, birds, snakes, toads, carabid beetles, and nematodes,” Donnie chimed in. “They are slimy though.”

“Enough about worms,” Leo said, “Mikey, get back in your seat so you can tell me where to go.”

Mikey sighed but returned to his station. “You should take a right… three blocks ago.”

They all groaned.

Oc Showcase: Miss Wasp!

(One of the) Main antagonist of "Hellfire". Miss Wasp, or Missy, is a Tarantula Hawk Spider-Wasp yokai. She's supposed to be the "red character" to Big Mama's "blue character", so there are many parallels between the two of them: yokai with two forms, businesswoman, gatekeep girlboss.

Her color scheme is one of the most hideous palettes I've ever put together, BUT she's a very dangerous insect, and in nature, usually, the very dangerous insects have the brightest of colors. Tarantula Hawk wasps are the natural predators of spiders, specially tarantulas. Their sting is one of the most painful in the world for humans, and can completely paralyze their prey in less than 2 seconds.

As for Missy herself, she has all of those attributes of her insect self, while also having terrifying knowledge of all sorts of poisons, those being her main weapons. Ah, and Tarantula Hawks are also parasitoids ;)
