All mods are compatible with the patch, including technically the main menu backgrounds.

But EA decided to make the main menu background for live events come from their side, not from the files stored on your computer.

So by themselves, they won't work right now.

Lunar Britney has saved the day though. He's updated his 2025 Main Menu Readjusted to include blocking the live menu update, so we can all see what we want to see when we load our games. I already strongly recommended using that, but now it's kind of really important.

Has anyone noticed this new file in the Sims 4 folder?

I always delete the localthumbcache and avatarcache files after I have closed the game. Is this localsimtexturecache also a file I better delete (especially when adding/removing mods) or should I leave it?

For now, I don't touch it, just thought to ask you wonderful and smart people what to do ☺️

🐚 patch day always comes at the worst time. I’ll be in the middle of the most heavily modded gameplay in a save and suddenly now is the time to break every single mod that’s even breathed on the game files.

Patch Day!

Because I mainly create clothing or items in CAS, they don't require updates. I know most people know this but I just want to put this out here in case anybody is wondering. I hope you enjoying your day and your games lovelies ♡

And always, always save & backup your mods and saves on Patch Day. Just to avoid any issues I tend to wait a day or two after the patch comes out to see how it reacts "out in the big wide world", other people's games, to see how big the patch is and how it has affected other people's gameplay and then I save and back up my saves and mods and update everything as usual. Just a personal tip ♡

I used to fear patch day, and honestly, I still do.

But it is also reason to celebrate! Some things will be fixed. There will be improvements. It prepare us for new, nice things (like horses). We need the patches.

So I put my fear aside and will boldly patch my game. I will take out my mods for a few days, and will now have the chance to play vanilla. That is usually eyeopening, and frustrating after a while, and then I will love my mods even more when I can update them and put them back.

The customer filter file for historical gigs has been updated.

All other mods have been cleared for the patch. Including my fix for the Life and Death music box, which I will continue to mention specifically because it has to be checked by NOT having it installed, and I keep hoping EA will fix it.

Patch days gives me the exact right amount of drama I want in my life. It's chaotic, full of rumours and reactions before thought. But it's just connected to a game. The only real life impact it has is that we spent some money on the game. That's it.

Don't get me wrong, I too am feeling the adrenaline in my veins, not knowing what has broken and not. But it won't affect anything else in my life. It's not like loosing a job, your house burned down or people voted for a party that wants to take away your rights.

It's just the right amount of drama. I love it.
