VFS Explorer v1.1a is out!

VFS Explorer is a graphic tool for viewing and extracting files and subfolders from within VFS archives, which are used in Pathologic 1.

Update v1.1 adds new search modes ("Contains", "Starts with" and "Regex"); Russian interface and multilanguage support; checking for new versions from within the app; better errors; and hides debug options by default (enable them back in Preferences).

Update v1.1a fixes a critical error on systems using languages that VFS Explorer is not translated to.

As bundling multiple languages is now possible, VFSE accepts submissions of new localizations. If you'd like to contribute, see Developer documentation, and feel free to message me with any questions!

I put together the (90 MB of) files required for the original 2006 English translation of Pathologic, and uploaded them so that you can play this worse and less legible version in Classic HD with the utmost convenience. Try it out below!

VFS Explorer 1.0 is now available

VFS Explorer is a new cross-platform explorer/"viewer" app for VFS archives, such as those shipped with Pathologic 1. Alternatively, it's an ultra-minimalistic, extremely niche bootleg of WinRAR.

It intends to be a simple, robust and intuitive way to deal with VFS archives that doesn't require you to extract the whole thing to see what's inside. For now it only allows you to list the contents and extract selected files - however, more features (such as previewing the files themselves and converting file types on the go) are in the works.

VFS Explorer executables are available for Windows and Linux. If your OS is not one of those two, VFS Explorer can also be ran from source code (see the GitHub repository's README for instructions - it only takes a bit of setup).
